I recall that the Air Cav in Vietnam and Apocalypse Now flew Hueys and not Valkyries... Your point? It still fails to explain why Guardsmen cannot fire out of the two enormous side hatches.

Because they're scared of heights? That's the only explanation I can think of. That or wings in the way and the guys being bad enough shots that they might scorch the emperor's paint.

Oh, and sadly terminators cannot ride in valkyries. Sadly, you are mistaken. As only Ogryn have any kind of restriction to being embarked in Valk transports. It does not say "models in terminator armor may not" or "models on 40mm bases may not." Much as anyone wants to argue otherwise (as that would be for a different thread, on a different day).

By Pseudo-Rending... they become AP1. They dont' get any bonus to penetration, they get a bonus to damage. Actually they don't get a damage bonus for the ap1 since against vehicles you roll no "to wound" and DG specifies nothing about rolling ap, so they can't become ap1 against anything with an armor value(bummer). Sadly, you are mistaken. As only Ogryn have any kind of restriction to being embarked in Valk transports. It does not say "models in terminator armor may not" or "models on 40mm bases may not." Much as anyone wants to argue otherwise (as that would be for a different thread, on a different day). This is a nice "bug" on the rules(in apoc it's even more crazy. imagine a valkyrie transporting 12 kroot great knarlocs dropping them with crav-chutes[yes, they are infantry not MC])).

Not to say it doesn't stand a good chance of getting cleared up in a FAQ/errata. But yeah, it's perfectly legal to transport any infantry in them.

The DH Inquisitor is awesome. 32 points with two mystics, and your opponent's Deep Strike strategy just gained a big hurdle to overcome. Combine with Officer of the Fleet, and any Deep Strike-based strategy (whether drop pods, terminators, daemons, whatever) practically auto-loses. For 28 more points, a Hierophant and Psychic Hood give you a Ld9 attempt to cancel a power, with unlimited range. For yet 30 more, you get a S6 AP4 3-shot weapon that ignores invulnerable saves. Grey Knight Terminators are also badass, especially if you give them a Land Raider (see Inq. above) or outflank them with Creed. Finally, Sisters of Battle make good squads to drop from Valkyries. They are only 10 points more than Grenadier Guardsmen, but gain bolters and power armor. They can take one fewer special weapon, but can get a flamer and a heavy flamer. For an extra 14 points they become faithful (that's one turn of shooting/melee where every 6 to wound is AP1, or one turn of melee where they all strike ) and Ld9. I frequently use one of these squads rather than Veterans with flamers. Or if you prefer an Elite choice, for 120 points you get 10 Celestians, who are WS4, BS4, I4, Ld9 and hit most things on 3+ in melee. They are basically slightly cheaper Space Marines, and with a faith point, they are fully a match for Tactical Marines in combat, and will overpower anything less. If you add Creed or Straken to the mix, they will actually beat Marines every time, whether assaulting or being assaulted. Of course, to get proper use of their faith, you need a Cannoness. My favorite configuration is with Mantle of Ophelia, Blessed Weapon, Praesidium Protectiva, and Book of St. Lucius. 105 points for essentially an uber-badass Commissar. Same Ld10 Stubborn 6" Aura, except she's S5 at I4 with a re-roll, is immune to instant death, and has a 4++ save vs. that one guy with the power fist. And she gives you 2 faith points (and 2 more once she's finally dead). 'Ard Boyz had a specific FAQ from GW that disallowed terminators from riding Valkyries. You can bet your ass any official GW event will rule the same.

Never play ANY Sororitas unit without the Book of St. Lucius. There is just no reason not to pay five points for that wargear.
