Predators serve a specific role. That of a support weapon. Since Marines are specialists in rapid strikes. They can't afford to have a huge lumbering tank. Which is why they use the Predator. It has a purpose, but that doesn't really make it good.
The Exorcist on the other hand, is really very useful. It provides the long ranged Tank hunting/Heavy Armor busting ability that Sisters lack.

It's fun to destroy a monolith through sheer weight of fire because you rolled 3 sixes for number of shots on your three exorcists.
Inefficient. But fun!

I imagine it is, but I would just as soon slag them with a Vanq and be done with them. Then I start sniping Destroyers. Reds

Well, for the most part the most efficient use of the Exorcist Missile Launcher is actually bombarding Necron infantry to assist the rest of the army in forcing them to phase out. It takes a six to penetrate and then a six on the damage chart for the exorcists to wreck the monolith. 1/36 is not good odds, considering the random amount of shots that Exorcists have (average 3.5 shots per turn).
This is probably the best use of any S8 weaponry really, against the 'crons. Including krak grenades/missiles and melta weaponry.

Which is why Russes and MLs are so delightful against them. I ran 3 Demolishers with Melta Sponsons, 8 MLs, and 3 Lascannons against Crons in a 2500pt game. Threw in two Hellhounds too, to burn his massive scarab swarms. Almost got him to phase out. He was one model away...

From what I've seen, Predators with HBs and Autocannons are dirt cheap. So are Rhinos. Yes they aren't that great armor wise, but you can field them without concerning yourself too much on point costs. They fit into low cost games all the way up to grand wars and can lay down some hurt if they aren't dealt with.
Cheap target rich enviroments are hard to deal with for some armies. Not guard, really, with our access to heavy weapons and uber tanks- but some armies.

Right. It's a support weapon.
Preds are not designed to wipe out entire units like the Russ is. It's meant to support the advance.
And under the new vehicle weapon rules, does this kind of poorly now.
Before you could run a Predator with TL's Lascannon, two HB's, and it was a great multi-role vehicle. Now it has to stand still to be effective, which ruins the point of mobile support.

And that's why the baal pred is sitting on top of that pile.
But even so, IG vehicles reign supreme!

Yarrick being the only person who has ever stood up to 'ol ghazzy and lived, yes, I'd say it does.

Counts as hell pistol. A hell pistol, I tell you!
Long division, nothing; he does integration in his head. (I used to be able to differentiate in my head, but then I stopped doing math stuff. I'm a happier person now.)

guys/girls you do know that this post is about choosing from a rhino and a preditor.
Im just saying that a preditor is great at one role anti armour or anti infantry.
ok preditor annihiator vs leman russ vanquisher oh will win.
preditor better bs, good anti tank weapons, cheaper, leman better armour, good anti tank weapons.
and preditors have standard armour 13, tau hammer has 13, choas pred has 13. ect.
preditors can be cost effective with 3 lascannons its 165 points.

In the fluff? Leman Russ, definitely. In fluff, the advantage of the Predator is its veteran crew and agility, compared to the Russ' beter armor and firepower. Predators are not designed to go up against the likes of leman russ tanks one on one, and if they do so they will most assuredly lose without infantry support or some sort.

In the end the Rhino won. I was going to go the magnet route, but there were a few issues with making that work that essentially made doing the Rhino easier. I also honestly can't ever see myself using a Predator unless it was purely for fun since a Devastator squad does the fire support job more than adequately and it's something I'd rather field. As for choosing the Predator to keep Space Marines losing, don't worry about that. I hardly play my vile, despicable, awful, blue Ultramarines anyway.
