other than the mold lines, those look really great. Simple enough for a massed guard scheme. I wish I had done that. I do desert colours over a black base. Not easy.

Sure. I miss mold lines a lot on Guardsmen, and I'm an 8 year veteran, so don't worry about it. However, when overbrushing and drybrushing like you're doing, it is more important that you get the most prominant ones like on the elbow.
Keep working on this, it's good.

Looks more like an urban scheme than snow, but good job none the less.

ive always thought that urban and snow themes could be used interchangably on the same scheme (until you do the base at least)
Excellent job on skin for your first time. Lookin good! just dont slack off, because then your whole painting schedual goes down the tubes (much like mine did, now im lucky if i do 3 per week)

I'm now lucky if I pick up my brush once a month...

That's lack of time, not desire, though, right Requiem? Maybe not.
It takes me an hour to get one guardsman fully painted. So that's 10 hours per squad. I'm not gonna even talk about vehicles...

hmm...takes me about one hour per guardsmen (while watching tv) and 20 minutes to do a tank.

More like: I've got such an insane amount of crap to paint, I don't even want to think about it. And I still want to buy more...
And I spend four hours per guardsman. That doesn't include assembly/converting. That also does in no way include the custom sculpted greatcoats I'm doing later. Those will be a lot more than four hours...

The paintings superb. I haven't acheived that standard EVER. Also simple enough to churn out guardsmen at a rate of knots.

The trick to painting guardsmen is to paint the nine / ten man squad together. That way, you can pick them up and put them down.
I'll knock about nine out in ninety minutes.

I like them, good job in the eyes especially. Although for a snow scheme, I'd lighten up the armour colour, as stated before, looks a bit...urban.

I'd paint the hands to look like they're wearing gloves.

well if you want them to look like they are well suplied i guess, but ive always found it to be more heroic/ epic for anyone to be forced to fight, but be undersupplied and such. Not sure why though.
And hes real good at doing hands so i think he should just keep them as is.

I'm working on some snow themed IG too and I think yours looks great! Mine is similar but mine have green armour with a frosted drybrush effect on them.

Inks and drybrush helps a lot. Quick and nice looking for your line troops

mine is easy because the clothes themselves are black...so black spray paint+black clothes= no need to paint that part Which means im essentially painting only 75% of the model myslef (highlighting counts too)

I guess the fact that I only have a standard brush and a fine detail brush also doesnt help... vladimir: I don't highlight or shade anyways. I just do flat coulour and it still takes me ages. Ignatius: I guess that would help alot.
