Ages ago we did this commando roleplay. Its more of a personal level thing where we're all part of an elite unit with our own skills. I'll try and dig up the original rules.

Ok so this was the Original RP with Characters and all, we (the remaining players) to get it going again, same idea new setting and all that jazz.
Original beginning post:
The planet Vorum VI...constantly undersiege by the forces of chaos. Heretical cults, chaos space marines of the Iron Warriors legion, daemons...a never ending war rages across the hives.
But one hive out of them all held the most importance for the Imperial Guard forces on Vorum: Hive Kalimus.
It's signifcance lied solely with its vast richness of metal ores. Here, raw materials are mined and shipped off world to be transformed into valuable weapons and munitions.
That was long ago, and now over twelve legions of Imperial Guard have been sent to Hive Kalimus to liberate it. Seventy million men in all, but amongst them, the most elite of them were but a mere team of hardened individuals - Delta Team, a group of the craziest, wildest, and most battle experienced veterans from several different regiments.
Delta Team was already caught in a thick barrage of autocannon fire, however, as the regiment they were attached to advanced through the Hive. From up ahead, the heretic cultists poured solid slug rounds at them. All around the Delta Team members, guardsmen without prior combat knowledge were jerked to the grouned as large bore shots tore through their bodies.
OK so that was the intro, now for the Characters.
Gear List:
Here is where you can post your character and regiment info.
Gear Examples - Weaponry

and Finally, the characters that we did actually make and played with so you new ppl can get background, I will post as I hear from returning players, cause there too many to put up for no reason.

The rules for characters: So, your character is a very skilled, highly unique (but not godlike, for example, RT has sworn that Drang will not appear here, much to our relief )
Your character can be from your own regiment, but he is not an officer. At most a Sergeant, and with a very important skill, such as:
Sanctioned Psyker (Primaris)
Demolition Specialist
Sniper
Special weapons
Heavy weapons
Stealth
Close-Quarters
Driver
Vox-Officer
Medic
Commissar (Only one member, waiting on Ymmot's reply )
Use this format:
Screen Name: Character Name: Rank OR Position (as in, a Psyker is not a guardsman and would not have a rank) Specialty: Homeworld: Short Description of character (optional): eye colour, hair colour, size, disposition towards others Gear:
My old character for example: Screen name: Pvt Puffy Char name: Chaz kellion Rank: sergeant Unit: Team Helune, 1st platoon, A company, Monian 37th Homeworld: Monia Speciality: Stealther, marksman and swordsman Gear: Modified super charged lasgun w scope (night vision+infared modes) and underslung grenade launcher wraithbane frag grenades meltabombs 4 lasgun hot shot clips, 2 normal lasgun clips first aid pack flak armour camo-cloak smoke grenades laspistol 4 laspistol clips Respirator Vox bead
Chaz is an exeptional soldier. He excelled in marksmanship, is a master swordsman and always leads the charge. He was born in a barn on the ice wastes, abandoned by his parents for unknown reasons, he is forced to fend for himself. At the age of 19 however, he was found by a training patrol of Monian guardsmen. He was taken into the, soon to be prosigous, Monian 37th regiment and was immediately thrown into the desperate battle to stop the Tau's third sphere expansion. He distinguished himself on many battlefeilds. He became known for his scavenging habits. He took everything from heads to weapons. There is a rumour that he hauled a fex's head through a hail of gunfire in the defense of Gwean V. Also, in an undiciplined, rag-tag commando regiment without commissariate representatives he ran a massive black market buissiness. Everything from alcohol to joygirls. He is a silent, solumn figure. Hard to read. But one of the best stealthers in the regiment. He turned down a promotion to Major to remain anonymous as to not give away his black market op.
Also, are we going to go with the original story or take on delta teams next mission?

The mission, gentlemen?
Put simply, with the enemy penetration into the city - Corporal Blake stop sniggering at once or I'll cut out your eyes and open your spine up like a fraking fish! - we have been forced to redeploy the vast proportion of our reserves to holding this city. In essence, by assailing Hive Kalimus, the enemy draws our units into a bloody war of attrition with his expendable troops - in particular, his seemingly unending supply of renegade auxillaries and mutants, who seem to excel in urban combat. This is unacceptable.
With the authority of Lord General Leuin, I have authorised the creation of a new infantry unit. It will combine the roles traditionally performed by valuable Storm Troopers - interdiction, assasination, sabotage, disruption of the enemy communications and supplies - without risking the loss of such valauble troops.
You, gentlemen, are this unit. Your first mission is simple - locate, and assasinate the enemy field commander for the South-South-Western sector of their attack, a renegade Astartes by name of 'Ospran of the Iron Incarnidine'.

(and here is my reply) Screen Name: ymmot
Character Name: Heinrick Sterben
Rank: Commissar
Specialty: Commissar
Homeworld: Schola Progenium Orbital platform Beta 9 cluster alpha Z947-2
Commissar Sterben has been sent by way of the administratum to insure that which ever mission his unit is assigned to will be complete at all costs, he is also there to insure the utmost loyalty to the troopers in his care and that the divine light of the emperor burns away the taint of cowardice and uncertainty. He will not accept conduct that does not adhere one hundred percent to Imperial creed and dogma and has been advised to closely watch the actions of certain men within the unit and to execute anyone who defies the orders of a superior, as such his specialty is order and discipline and he does not have any particular combat expertise, though it should be noted that he is quite a remarkable marksman and a formidable foe in close quarters, having won numerous honors as a saber duelist in his days at the Schola.
The Commissar is tall, wiry, and lean with high cheek bones and a pointed aquiline face. His right eye has been replaced by a bionic implant cluster and there is extensive scarring on the right side of his face covered almost entirely under a form fitting metal plate. His lips are narrow and tight and he has short thinning black hair and stubble. His left eye is sunken and green and his eyebrows are thick and sharp. His age is difficult to determine due to advances in the lifespan of the privileged but it is a fair estimation that he is between 38 and 138 years old.
Gear: -bionic eye cluster(macro zoom functionality/auspex/targeter/digital weapon) -various other discrete bionic augmentations(Bionics) -mechanicum sanctioned cleansing agent and pocket sized maintenance kit with mirror -master crafted bolt pistol(ceremonial) -laspistol(utility) -powersword(ceremonial and utility) -ornate breastplate(flak armor equivalent) -vox bead

Uniform of the Commissariat -black jack boots -black great coat -black cap -black leather gloves -black leather belt and holster -black fatigues -black undergarments -black socks -red sash

Sure, why not, this should be a good way to keep my mind in shape.
Screen Name: The Envoy
Character Name: Titus Tauron
Rank OR Position Guardsman
Specialty: Assault Trooper
Homeworld: Adorea
Short Description of character (optional): Titus is a somewhat tall man with an olive complexion, brown eyes and dark brown hair. On the left side of his face is a scar running from scalp to chin, and another perpendicular to this can be seen across his throat. He generally comes across as quiet and soft spoken, but among those he knows and trusts, he is generally considered a solid companion.
First joining the Adorean PDF, as is required of all those fit to fight, Titus chose to remain in active service, taking part in the planets tithe to the Imperial Guard. Having first served in the field against Orks in the Shibara system primarily under Sergeant Addalia of the Adorean Assault Veterans attached to the 35th regiment. He was wounded in battle during this war, but still managed to proved himself to be one of the foremost soldiers within the Assault Vets, second only to Addalia herself.
Having served his term with a number of accolades, he retired with the rank of Corporal from the regiment. Titus continued to fight for the Imperium as first a mercenary trooper, and then as an Acolyte for an Inquisitor from the Calixis Sector. He aided in purging the Underhive Arbites of that world of corruption, and left the Inquisitor's service to rejoin the battlefields with the Imperial Guard (at least according to his official transcripts.) Due to his recent services, he has been reinstated within the Imperial Guard as a Sergeant, with the hopes that he will be something of an inspiration to those under his command.
Gear: On Person: Bolt Pistol 2x Magazine (8 bolts each) Modified Lasgun with Backpack Battery and Bayonet Lug (Good for 180 shots before needing recharge) 3x Power Cells for Quick Reload Silencer Laspistol 2x Power Cells Combat Knife with Mono Edge Enforcer Light Carapace Armor Water Canteen Infantryman's Primer 6x Frag Grenades

Screen Name: Melissia Character Name: Ellen Heinbeck Rank: Guardsman Specialty: Demolitions Homeworld: Seclura V, Hive Secundus Born around twenty Terra years ago to parents whom died in combat but weren't distinguished enough to earn her a place in the Schola Progenium. Effectively raised by an underhive gang, before she was inducted into the guard as a child conscript. Distinguished herself in the use of explosives during her years during the crusade to cleansse the Tulona-Mas Subsector of mutants, including a seemingly instinctive knack for explosives and explosive weaponry. After she completed her training, she earned the nickname "Bombshell" from her fellow Guardsmen (apparently much to her own chagrine, as a number of fellow Guardsmen have found non-lethal explosive accidents happening to them for teasing her or using that nickname). It was this instinctive skill with explosives that prompted her selection for the special forces unit. A small woman, with bright reddish orange hair and golden eyes whose colors match the flames and eplosives she works closely with. She has remarkably few burn scars, and those that she has appear to be very old and healed up, often covered up by her uniform. She almost always wears both her respirator and photo-visors, and indeed she shows no skin on her body, preferring to wear a flame-retardant bodysuit under her clothes... just in case something DOES go wrong. Gear: Weapons: - 8 frag grenades
- 6 krak grenades
- Seclura MKIII pattern Meltagun
- 6 shot capacity
- 4 Melta Canisters

- Greaves
- Boots
- Uniform
- Flame-retardant mask (Photo-visor and Respirator)
- Loose khaki shirt
- Shoulder strap for Meltagun

++++Incoming Message++++ ////From: Col. Gunther//// ////To: Senior Commander Freisner//// ////Play//// Good Evening Senior Commander. I am sure you have heard about the recent combat near the Currivian Space port. I am here to inform you that the blast crater seen in the general vicinity of the space port is in fact, the space port. Fox Company was palced in the surrounding area ordered to defend it. After continuos enemy assault, the remaining squad pulled back to the Space port where they held up. The squad by that time was reduced to 4 men, one of which was Corporal Jason Keirn. After subdueing the Navy guards ordered to protect the Warp drive, he set it to overheat and destory the space port. Im a daring escape via Valkyrie they hijacked the remaining squad members survived the blast, but it destroyed the space port and surrounding area. I would normally suggest execution for heresy, but the blast was so large that it destroyed most of the Archenemies forces in the surrounding hills. Im am instead recommending promotion. Good Evening Lord Commander. ***End message***

Lieutenant Montfort 'Chagrin' Drake, Drookian Commando.
Bio: While the world of Drookia is most famous for it's light infantry, recruited from the wild plains, marshlands and highlands, these are not the only fighters it produces. From the massive, industrial cities of Drookia's main landmass, different regiments are recruited. Not product of fen and mountain, but of the massive furnaces, manufactorums and dockyards of Drookia's cities. Not for them, the ghostly hit and fade of their highland cousins. These, are men forged in the great cauldron-furnace of hard work, hard living and a violent, unstoppable will, molded into a blunt instrument harder than any iron.
Drookian Shock Regiments are not a subtle weapon, nor do they produce subtle warriors. There philosophy is simple - to locate their foe, and then smash them into so many burning, screaming pieces with overwhelming force. Each Shock Trooper is trained in his role on foot, upon a Chimera armoured transport, or from within the cavernous hull of a Valkyrie, to leap into the face of death and terror, guns blazing and a warcry upon his lips, crushing the enemy under the weight of fire.
Commandos are, to these blunt instruents, the leading edge of the blow. Where the bulk of the infantry provides the crushing, shattering hammerblow, the Drookian Commados are the rapier-edge thrust of their offensive. Well, more of a sabre-slash - a rapid, vicious blow that rips through the enemies defences, heavy, weighted but far too rapid to be countered effectively by any but the most mobile of forces.
A heavy, vicious brute of a man, Drake stands well over six foot in height, approaching two metres, with the musculatre and bone structure of bruiser. This alone makes him imposing, coupled with the livid, almost black scorch mark traced across his left cheekbone, and a pugilistic, bilious temper that would have seen him shot or worse, were it not for the fact that many members of the High Command, the Commissariat and the Priesthood of Terra owe their lives to the timely intervention of Commando 'Chagrin' Drake. Drake excells at close-in combat, delighting in short-ranged firefights, brawling, hand-to-hand fighting, knifework.
His combat style, like his personal philosophy, is a combintion of the brutal, unsophisticated application of force, backed by a fearsome intellect, raw cunning, and a vile, savage temper. His nickname, 'Chagrin', has no explainable source, save his fondness for the term.
Gear:
Mk. I Naval Shotgun, with Manstopper, Incendiary and Scattershot rounds.
Single-shot Grenade Launcher
Mk. IV Naval Pistol, Manstopper and AP rounds.
Mk X Laspistol, 5 power packs.
3 Combat knives (wrist, shoulder and boot sheathe), all poisoned.
Power Axe (requisitioned for cutting through difficult terrain, although often used to cut through difficult opponents).
8 Frag Grenades 5 Krak Grenades 7 Incendiary Grenades 4 Smoke Grenades 2 Stun Grenades
Macronoculars.
Black Fatigues and full Carapace Armour, night-camoflage pattern.
Magnesium Flares.
Demolitions wire.
Blasting charges.
Man-portable respirator.
4 Ampoules of Morphine, in addition to standard Guard medical kit.
Officer's overcoat.
Dust goggles.
Micro-vox bead.

We've got a lot of close support troops as well. Be aware that I'm basically going to lumber one of you with a heavy stubber instead of your regular armamant, if no-one volunteers for that role. Still needed: Medic. Comms. I've also decieded that since we have a commissar, I'm promoting my character to Lieutenant, to explain why. Plus, we need someone who can actually read a map .

I've also decieded that since we have a commissar, I'm promoting my character to Lieutenant, to explain why. Plus, we need someone who can actually read a map . Thank goodness. I always figured in our last missions the officer in charge already got whacked at some point...leaving me in charge to make a mess of things as everyone gets separated and things generally fall apart.
