heh I think the horses might look cool, though I've got my eye on those cadian dirt bike rough rider conversions that cost like a bazillion $ each one day....

I would also like the dirt bikes, but, Terrax guard fluff states that the Regiments are well equipped and kinda uppity lol because of their history. I thought it would be cool to have them ride horses into battle that were decorated but I couldn't find one with material...wait a sec...AH HA I found what I was looking fer' This would be more like what I was thinking. Hey what about mounting the sergent to be a commissar... obviously he won't be a commissar per say but it would look very fluffy. ;D What do you guys think. (P.S. the horses gaments(for lack of a better word) won't be painted pale blue, Maybe black, a little pale blue, and red stripes.) +last statement about other horses withdrawn.+

I like those horses better, but then again, I'm just not a fan of the empire line of fantasy battle minis

Me niether I'm a lizardman fan myself... But anyway I am just getting the plastic horse spruces not the men. I decided to model cadians shocktroops on the horses and green stuff trenchcoats on them to make them look like the Terrax guard pictured in the codex.

thumbs up hawkrin, but you know how u guys said that u could use smurf bikes and some greenstuff..i thougth about that a long time ago..but i like to do massive conversions..so when i went to games day they had those tables were u could sign up and then there were liek soo many bits and u gotta make soemthin in liek 10 mins and then u gotta race it or w.e but it hasta look nothign like real thing..so that u cant use them right..anywyas ..when i was at the table..i snuck myslef like 6 bike tires..and like 4 sentinal heads..so i was thinking..with some motavation, and luck i could make like 3 rough riders that are inside a sentinal cockpit bike thingy..i think itd look pretty sick..but then with the other rough riders.id either havta buy or do just the smurf bike thing withhout the cockpit..so i think im just gonna wait till next games day to get the rest of the parts aha! but ya woudlnt that be prretty awesome?..and u could use the spot were u would put the multilasser..for a lance! o man thats so beutiful!

probably both I like the drawing, it's nice to see some other form of invested time in art that's not painting hehe. one of the things I like about 40k is that it's not just for warriors who love to do battle but also for artists who love to paint - kind of a yin yang type of thing. at any rate, the picture of the roughrider is very good hawk; I can't remember the last time I actually drew something. as far as your idea malachi, that's reallyreally good! the models would look really cool but I'm not sure that they would really represent 5+ armored infantry .. they seem more like 3+ armor with the sentinel cab and all. that idea really gets the creative juices flowing though! It's neat to see all these ideas for roughriders all spawned from GWs lack of fitting models. kind of a taste of what it'd be like to play orcs hah.

A guy at my store made rough riders using SM bikes. They looked very kool. Another guy who it getting into the Vorskyns(sp) or the 'Ice Nazis" as we call them is going to build them using Cold Ones from WH Fantasy. He likes the whole Obiwan on Boga lizard thing from SW Ep 3

Bagged me 3 assault terminators on Thursday with a 5 man squad of rough riders. I would have killed 5 were it not for that accursed invulnerable save. Still 61pts to take out 120pts of termies is nothing to be sniffed at.

Shame Forgeworld or Warhammer haven't done a Rough Riders unit for each Guard Type. Would be cool to choose from Cadian, Steel Legion, Death Corps etc etc all mounted on horses.
Would keep the army theme better than trying to convert models to match.

I have done a really cool conversion of Cadia RR. I don't know how to add pictures, but would be happy to email if anyone would like to see them.
I used Bretonnia Knights horses and legs. Feets, upperbody, arms and heads from Cadia.

if you go to photobucket.com you can get a free online web gallery, just post the image there, it's super simple and it'll even show you how to post an image too welcome to the IGMB kyron. also, if you don't get too many replies it is just because you're new to the board and no one knows if they'll get spammed by crazy emails from random companies if they give out their email to you or not. give it a bit of time and you'll find the folk around here far more happy to share things like that it sounds like a great conversion though, and I can't wait to see it when you get something like photobucket hooked up (that's the service I use for all my online picture hosting)

Thanks. What are you trained in? I read your post concerning the Leman Russ. Were you a driver or something? Don't really know what word to use. So I hope you understand me anyway.
