Hello, just registered and this is my first post.
I've only been playing WH40K since last September(2006) and hae chosen IG as my prefered army. Being ex army I've based my army on my old Regiment 2nd Battalion Queen's Regiment. I have 1 army (cadian plastics, with FW enhancements) and a second waiting in the wings 2500 pts of Elysians. My army names are as follows Kantiium 3rd Regiment of Foot "The Resurectionists" and the Elysians will be Kantiium 57th Regiment of Foot (Airbourne) "The Die Hards". They are from the World of Kantiium, which is basically Kent in Roman, as my Regimental home was Kent. The "nick names" for the regiments is from my regiments Peninsular War years, basically the 3rd Regiment of Foot was all but destroyed at Albuhera back in 1811, yet a few months later were back to full strength, hence their resurrection and the name "Resurrectionists" The "Die Hards", again during Albuhera they came under immense presure from the French and their CO cried out die hard 57th, they stood firm and gave a good account of themselves, hence the term "Die Hards" the nick name seems to fit well with an Airbourne regiment, I am contemplating giving their CO the name of John Maclean or possibly Bruce Willis.
I have a 3rd army on the go which is I'm afraid Space Marines (Red Scorpions). They fit in well with IG in terms of fluff as well as look. IA vol 4
In fact I have played a couple of double tornies here in the UK, WH40K doubles at Nottingham in January and just back from Conflict South East 2007, where we played IG and SM, at Nottingham we finished 11th (our first tournament) and at conflict I think we should be in the top 7, although final positions haven't been released yet, although we did win best painted army, which was a huge surprise, but quite an honour, given the armies that were on display.

my armie is the Krulev PDF "the Unworthy"
the planet krulev was settled during the great crusade after bitter fighting with the elder. it enjoyed a peaceful exsitence until 200 years ago when three ork hulk entered the system. Krulev called for help no-one answered. AS the PDF readied for the defence 3/4 of the population decied to join choas when the orks landed.
The remants activated the all purpose contentcy plan or plan B and fled to 3 self sustaining hives that were left in the mountians now they fight for surival to reclam thier home world.

Mine are the 107th Draconian Rifles, Bravo Company. The planet isnt actually on the space map, but its a big universe . Their all currently undergoing a change from urban bases to muddy trench bases, and im adding battle damage and improving face/eyes...and its taking me ages! Led by Col. Nickolia Bakaev (back-eye-ev). havent written any stories for em tho, but im really proud i managed to paint all of em before loosing the will to live lol

My army is the 9th Company of the 2nd Saratov Battalion. The troopers have the number 812 on their shoulder pads however, in honour of a previous campaign in which they served 812 continuous days.

yeah, they sure are some tough guys. I have the veterans doctrine so my army does give the impression of a larger force that is seriously depleted. Although, I might change that fluff and vary the shoulder pads because I`ve read in the Codex that those 3 digits represent Squad numbers.

The one i'm looking at starting is apart of the the "Asgard 5th" going by the unoffical title of "the Phantoms" due to there ability to un impeded by terrain and the fact that no one really knows were it's elements actually are.
One of the later Asgardian regiments (The 89th) fought itself to extinction on Armageddon (The 3rd war).

the monium "ice warriors" are veteran snow fighters. one of their most famous regiments is the monium 5th rifles. it has fought in nearly every major conflict since the horus heresy. the tyrynic wars, the 3 wars of armagedon. even the abbadons 13th black crusade.

The Prussian XV they're based on the Afrika Korps under Rommel in world war II. They were originally the Leuthen Sevens and Sons of Danzig, but they were massacred on Turin VI against the Tau. They are now under the Command of Oberst Schniedelwichsen. (The bearded guy from beerfest who gets shot.) They served against chaos valiantly on Medusa V.

i thought about using independent commisars but it didn't really go well with the army,so i just added commisars to all my squads lol.

isn't it a bit small for 750 pts unless you going to toll up on tanks?

My guard army goes by the name of the Cadian 186th "Death from Above" Light Infantry Regiment. Basically, they sneak up on enemies and recon areas before calling in their brother regiment the 185th Cadian Naval to drop a whole lotta bombs, hence the "Death from Above".
My regiment are basically a small group of specialists who were disgraced by "The Korfel Incident", and while they were officially accepted back into the Imperium and all Exterminatus orders against them removed, they have a stain on their reputation, which has been the cause for much hostility towards them.

The Prussian XV never started and are to be replaced by the Royal Green Dragoons of Mercia III. Inspired by rewatching The Patriot and realising how 40k worthy the british cavalry colonel was in that movie. Afterall burning a village alive in their church is always the best way to deal with traitors to the Imperium.

I started collecting my army about four years ago. Took on the endeavor most of us talked about, but no one had the gumption to put the plan into action. Several hundred dollars later I finally have my army. The ladies of the Amazonian fighting LXIX. I have started some fluff on this army. I chose the name because of a little known planet from the third edition codex. It actually showed picture of one of the guards ladies and I just went from there.
Now collecting every style and make of female model that GW makes (outside of LOTR) was a huge undertaking. It wasn't until this year that I was able to truly sit down and take stock of what I have on hand. After filling out my compulsory troops and talking with a few of the RedShirts I set down with a couple of boxes of Ogre bulls a pile of greenstuff and set to converting them into my ogrynettes. While not the center point of my army They are a truly vital component to my gaming style. It was decided about a month after completing the conversions there that the SOB allies would be a good choice and would actually make the army even stronger on the battle field. (I do not field the sisters unless the game is more than 1500 points.)
Currently in the detachment I have available: Baslisk Leman Russ Hell Hound Sentinel (Yes it has a glitter finish before anyone even thinks of asking) Rough Riders enough guard for two platoon Ogryn and several heavy weapons. Techpriest/ three tech servitors, one Heavy Bolter servitor.
The sisters will arrive ready for battle with Cannoness and five Celestians mounted in an immolator 6 Dominions mounted in an Immolator 16 SOB's
The Amazonian Monastarium is not large, but the mission to uphold the rule of the imperium will not falter
