Hey Trooper, amazing stuff in your tread. I love the Orange and White paint on the Knight. I am actually using the same scheme on my Dark Eldar. Would you mind telling me the process/paints you used? Seems I can never get that great of contrast or black wash that effectively.
Thanks, and keep up the good work!!

The knight is brilliant, especially the purple gore all over the base and chainblade. Can't wait to see the final component in place.

Thanks, Chem and Shifty!
Shifty: I primed the Knight's carapace black, and then laid down a base coat of Jokaero Orange, with a base of Ceramite White for the stripes. I then washed the whole carapace (not just the panel lines) heavily with Devlan Mud. Once the wash was dry I then went back in with the Jokaero Orange to build the orange back up, and went in with White Scar to layer the white back up. That's it, nothing else--very simple and effective!

Here are my WIP shots of the Gorkanaut: De-weedy-fication of the stock dual TL-shoota array: "DAT'S LOOKING GOOD AN' PROPPA!" And this part alone confers mega win to the Gorkanaut kit: What's not to love about a Boy riding a giant freaking Gatling cannon like it's a bike?

I love it!
Those big chunky shootas look very orky. How've you found the kit to assemble so far?

It's been a great deal of fun to build. The Klaw of Gork (or Possibly Mork) is pretty boss, although I wish it had more solid articulation at the elbow so it would hold a pose--as is I had to glue mine in place. The Deffstorm is also tons of fun to build, although I've left the "jaw" bit off the bottom of mine (so far). All of the parts of the kit fit together well.
Right now I'm paused on sticking the legs on (good posing options in terms of front/back/single plane rotation at the hip and flexing the "boots" as the toe and heel articulate independently, although the knee's articulation is a bit limited just because of the "squatting" geometry) as I'm waiting for a squashed Gobbo bit in the post. He will be going under one of the feet to represent a Grot rigger that fell off and got stepped on. I'm also going to snaffle some Grots from my second Stompa to represent riggers, and may have an ammo Grot standing on the back deck next to the TL-Shoota array to reload it when it runs out of dakka food.
The kit is a bit pricey, but I think it's worth it. I may be getting another at some point to make a Morkanaut, and will snaffle the expended casing sprays from it to stick on the lower ejection ports of the Deffstorm.

I like the horns you've added. Have you been looking at any of the conversions and scratch builds on Da Waagh! forum. From the looks of it I'd say it is pretty feasible to get two Gorkanauts out of the one kit by subbing in certain parts (I really like the tracked scratch build witht he rhino body and chest badge from the Ork battlewagon). Maybe if you get a second one hybridise it into two and have three Gorkanauts!

I haven't been on Da Waagh! forum in years, unfortunately... Those horns are stock parts that come with the Gorkanaut kit. I've still got two medium-sized ones leftover. Gotta figure out where to attach them. I'm also pondering snaffling the ripped up tread plate from my second Stompa and using it to build a rear platform for an Ammo Grot to be standing on.

Huzzah! My squashed Gobbo bit arrived today, so I'll be sticking it on the Gorkanaut's base in the near future...

Update to the Gorkanaut, now with squashed Gobbo action (representing a Grot rigger who fell off and got stepped on):

Thanks, Paradill! It is a fun kit to build, and you should definitely get (at least) one! Since that photo was taken I've added the gashed tread plate bit and a ladder snagged from a Stompa to make a deck on the Gorkanaut's back. I will be sticking a Grot Rigger and an Ammo Grot on it, possibly in a pose that suggests they are bickering. The Grots aren't glued down yet, as I want to fiddle with posing, as well as facilitate painting them as separate bits.

Mmmm, yes. Having that platform behind the dakkastick on top makes it look a lot better. How stable is the Gorkanaut on its base? The way you've tilted it makes me nervous

Looking great so far.
You must have used the strongest glue ever to have mounted it on one foot, on the base.

You must have used the strongest glue ever to have mounted it on one foot, on the base. Thanks, guys! I used a goodly amount of Testor's Model Master plastic cement, reinforced by some of Plastruct's ABS/Polystyrene cement to get the foot stuck down. The Gorkanaut did a delicate balancing act with its hull and raised leg braced up by a stack of clothespins while the weld between the foot and the base solidified. However, it is a bit wobbly, and I may have to go in a stick a pin between the bottom of the Gorkanaut's "belly" and the base to keep it from vibrating too much and possibly detaching from the base.

Dat proppa book, uv course.
Looks like the Ghazzie's Waagh supplement is going to be electronic (at first I'm hoping). Still hoping we'll get a Speed Freeks supplement as well, as right now there really isn't an option to make an all biker army (no option to unlock them as Troops, although I suppose if one wants to run an Unbound list it's possible).

Awesome. My Dakka Jet and Flashgitz kits just arrived today. Gotta say that I like how they've changed up how Ork Nob heads mount now. Having the neck be a separate piece with inner mouth details molded into it over which a hollow head/face mounts, so the inside of the Ork's mouth is actually detailed is pretty damn cool.
