This is excellent. So you just washed over a white undercoat for most of the body?

This is excellent. So you just washed over a white undercoat for most of the body? Thanks! Yup, it's white primer, touched up with Ceramite White, then washed with Argax Earthshade followed up by Seraphim Sepia. The white areas are then brought back up with White Scar, the carapace and claws are Abaddon Black dry brushed with Longbeard Grey, then hit with 'Ardcoat. The jaws and other red areas are Blood for the Blood God, also hit with 'Ardcoat. Nuln Oil is used for the joints. Yes ! Great scheme, the blue psychic brain is excellent. Please more new minis :-) Thanks! The brain was fun to do, and was five different layers, or six if you count the 'Ardcoat over the paint. I've got two more Zoanthropes to paint up. Right now I've got two more Warriors, a Ravener, and a Lictor in progress.

That's come up really nice, which brand white primer do you use?

Thanks! It's just GW white primer.

Do you find that you need multiple coats of the games workshop white primer? Every time i use it it seems to blob up and I do a careful second coat to even it.

Yeah, I typically apply several light coats from different angles, and even then I still need to go in with Ceramite White base to even out the coverage/hit areas that the primer didn't reach.

Stabby Tyranid Warriors with Scything Talons and Rending Claws. The first three of my stabby Warrior brood are finished, save for the static grass on their bases: Stabby Tyranid Warrior with Scything Talons plus Bonesword and Lashwhip combo: Tyranid Prime with Deathspitter plus Bonesword and Lashwhip combo: Shooty Tyranid Warriors with Deathspitters: Shooty Tyranid Warrior with Barbed Strangler:

A mawloc face eating a guardsman, only in color.

Its a blooming flower of fleshy death. Sort of. A mawloc face eating a guardsman, only in color. Close, but not quite. While this abomination does use the Mawloc's jaw spare parts from a Mawloc/Trygon kit, it isn't a Mawloc...

That's why it's just the mawloc face. I was very specific.

Ah, but 'tis not a Mawloc's face. It's a hybrid that uses convenient bits from the Mawloc's mouth bashed onto another type of head...

In its belly that Guardsman will find a new definition of pain and suffering, as he is slowly digested over... a thousand years... Delicious, delicious heresy.

"Where is your God-Emperor now?" I'm having far too much fun messing with the pose of the Guardsman to make him being nommed as brutally as possible. And I'm totally okay with that. <.< >.>

Is it the new haruspex? Brilliant bit of modelling there.
Edit ; ah ; the Red Terror. Nobody expects the Red Terror.

Thanks! Haruspex can be seen a few pages back. I realized I still had a leftover set of the spade-like digger-style claws (used by the Trygon) from my Mawloc kit, so I popped off the monstrous creature claws I had initially used on the Red Terror, and replaced them with the spade-like claws all round. Here he is posed with his Trygon Prime and Mawloc big brothers: He was a ton of fun to build, and used bits from the Carnifex, Hive Tyrant, and Trygon/Mawloc kits, in addition to the Cadian parts to make the unfortunate Guardsman who is being nommed on.

Hmm... Looking at him some more, and I'm wondering if it'd be worth cutting the tail section, repositioning the base section, connecting it with a coiled-armature to the body section, and then putting a GS sausage around the armature to make it a bit longer and also more "supported" looking (like the Trygon/Mawloc and Ravener) since he seems like he's a bit precariously balanced? Thoughts? Cosmic, 3ff3ct, AshotNINJA what do y'all think?

Decided to go ahead with the Red Terror's tail extension: And just for the sheer brutality of it:

I suggest you use a bare head with the helmet fallen on the ground. I was looking for one, but didn't have any bare Cadian heads in my bits collection... I've been talking with friends, and I think I'm going to make up a victim from each 40K race, as well as possibly specific Sphess Muhreen chapters, so I can customize the taunting-value for any possible opponent.

The normal cadian sgt would do as he's screaming and without helm, as far as the specific marine chapter=Lamenters, no one else would do lol!
