So... how ya doin? Cool, cool. Glad to hear it. Me? Yeah, I've been really busy. I know! I should've called but I've been Dr. Funtimes outside of 40k. It's me not you. So, sorta back in the saddle with my Valhallans but I have a hard final 3 terms at uni before I graduate so the pace will be on-again, off-again. Before I get to other projects like my Hydra I banged out some cheap imperial defense lines. What started as these corner guards for shipping furniture... ...ended up as these modular defense line thingies: For the 3 part How-To full of pics and nonsense, go check out my blog Sarcophagi sarcophagi.blogspot.com/Up soon: Hydra and a scratch-built Valhallan bastion.

Hearing this is always followed by a bitter breakup. You aren't breaking up with us, are you? That would make me sad.

Hey Peeps, Hope everybody is doing well. In the vein of the battline/bunkers I just did, here's a WIP of a lit scratch built Imperial Bastion for my Valhallans. Not sure which statlines I'll use for it but it's fairly modular so stuff can be added to it easy enough, like a missle silo or what have you. So far, it is about halfway detailed, wired with the lights and ready for some primer before the texture spray. After that, it will be detail painting, weathering and the like. I don't expect this to progress too fast, it'll be picked up and put down while I tackle more figs and the like, but it's on its way. From the front, with primed Valhallans for scale: Same angle with base lit up: From the back: More thoughts at my blog, addy below. Best, Yeti

Yetti, you never seas to amaze me The Imperial base is so cool and the lighting gives it such a nice touch. Is the bottom expanding foam, cut in to shape? I'll keep an eye for this project. Major Downer

Bloody awesome. Real atmospheric, kinda like a remote siberian prison or mining outpost DING DING DING. We have a winner, you nailed it. I was totally thinking remote Siberian/mining outpost! Epicness as per usual sir, glad to see you around! Thanks Shostak! Good to see you as well. Yeti! More amazing work dude. Your Valhalan's are bloody amazing Yeti, That terrain is awsomesauce too Goodto see an old face I remember Reemurge. Goodto see you back :)Dave Dave! How’s it going buddy? Yetti, you never seas to amaze me The Imperial base is so cool and the lighting gives it such a nice touch. Is the bottom expanding foam, cut in to shape? I'll keep an eye for this project. Major Downer This is a project I started many years ago, about the time I almost gave up on my IG. When I moved to my new house I almost threw it out along with a bunch of other half-finished terrain projects but I kept it for some reason and just recently pulled it out of storage, then added to it. The base is MDF and sculpted plaster on top. I don’t do terrain with plaster anymore… it was sorta a phase I went through. Anyway, it weighs a ton but is very durable. *Squees* Yeti! ;D Awesome to see you back, and that terrain looks like it's going to kick butt when you get it finished. The lights are especially cool! Trooper! Thanks man, I hope to have this done by Christmas, partime, but we’ll see how it works out. Thanks Cosmic! Get that BFG game in yet? Yeti I'm speechless! This is incredible! how did you pull off the lighting? Suckma: The lighting is store bought train lightning rigged to a train power supply. I simply hid the wiring in the walls or brought it out into the open where it adds jazz hands to the whole thing. I have some more wiring to do yet… That's sweet as hell! Don't forget to PVA the bejesus out of your foam before you spray it!!! I will cry if your next post is a melty lump! 3ff3ct: Thanks man. I didn’t get as far as I have making simple mistakes like that. I make very advanced mistakes now Seriously though, I don’t PVA terrain anymore but you have a point. I either use water-based spraypaint to prime most terrain pieces or, as in this case, I’ll use a brush on oil-based grey primer. Since it weighs so much and picking it up will require more handling than usual, I want a nice, tight coat on there. Also, I’ll be spray texturing this later with a foam-attacking paint so it really needs an oil primer to seal it up right against that. Best, Yeti

Got a thread going yet about your chaos? I'm thinking of bringing my Nurgle Marines out of retirement soon, if this Chaos codex plus Daemons codex does what I want them to do. Looking forward to your chaos fortifications! Best, Yeti

I'm bringing this thread back to life as I think everyone needs to have a look, get ideas and get making like Yeti has One of my Favorite Threads on here, so please take the time to have a good look as I have done. Cheers Major Downer Wow, sorry I missed this citation, as I had been lurking around since Spring. Hey Everyone, I hope this finds you all well. Just wanted to stop by and wake up my thread, see what you've all been up to and get inspired again. LOTS of stuff in Real Life had been keeping me from my beloved hobby the last few seasons but I realized the other day that I sorta absentmindedly picked up the 7th edition rules and Astra Militarum codex. Hell, I already played a 7th ed. game too. Huh. Funny that. This edition is doing something for me that I didn't feel last edition and it seems fun again, so I'll ride that wave to the beach. So 2 weeks ago I pulled out all this unfinished IG terrain I started last year and stripped a pound or two of Valhallans for re-painting. And just a few days ago I actually bought some Forge World for the first time in about a decade I think. So I guess I'm back into 40k, just like that. So, at length, here is my Enginseer, a light re-pose of a FW Mechanicum Myrmidom. His arms and weapons are mag-mount. I'm on a search for some servitors too. Good to see some familiar faces here and some new ones too and dear Emperor, you've all been busy, which is heartening. I'm looking forward to contributing again!

All, I want to wish everyone a happy, prosperous and healthy New Year. As far as I am concerned, 2014 was the best and worst year at once; I am glad to put it to rest and maybe act like 2015 is a clean slate. Anyway, the last I dropped in I was working on an Enginseer, above. He has paint on him, just not finished. I added two servitors that I ended up embellishing and just got side tracked starting into Bushido (Ito) and generally playing a ton of X Wing miniatures this Fall. That said, I got my AM on over the holiday and so, here's my Recon Vet squad, a kit-bash of different 3rd party bits, Cadian weapons/arms and Flamethrower parts. Also pictured is a Forge World auger of some sort. Not sure what it will denote, just thought it would come in handy... maybe a master vox for the HQ? If anybody wants, I can post up some WIP. Finally, here are some GW objective markers, the ones that hold numbered dice. I can't remember when I picked this up, probably before current edition came out, but I only recently boiled them to reposition them to hold a die snugly, mounted them on GW bases, primed and painted them. Yeah, this means I intend on playing 40k soon....
