I'm not quite dead yet, despite the ineptitude of the DC-area weather forecasters, and administrators of the local school system who decided that opening schools was a good idea today when there was at least 2" - 3" of snow on untreated major roadways (I won't even talk about secondary roads and side streets) before the morning rush hour even got started.
How have you been?

How have you been? Oh snap man, I feel you. Schools up here in Philly were open and we probably had less snow than you but it was just as aggravating; commute was really long and lame. I had great plans on prepping some new Lemans for primer but I feel more compelled to have a lager, watch hockey and go to bed. Winning! Lots of family and work stuff going on, hard to balance things but I'm giving it a shot. Any experience with mortar teams this edition? I'm thinking I might try and get a support section of 9 mortars on the board for purely cosmetic reasons but have no idea if they are really practical.

I've not even got a game in yet with the new edition, and I didn't even get one in during the last edition, sadly.
But hockey and beer always are a good choice.

I put up more detail on parts and included a lot more pics of the new guys on my blog if anybody is interested: Yeti's Hardened Valhallan Vets at SarcophagiBeer and hockey: Though I'm in Philly, I traveled to the Winter Classic in DC to root against Chicago on New Year's Day. Such beer and hockey on New Years Day! And I wore a Valhalla hat! Clearly, that's me on the right and my bro-in-law the die hard Caps fan, the poor son of a b1tch... JK

Aw, damn, Yeti! I wish I'd known you were in the D.C. area, as I live just outside the Beltway in VA, and we could have hung out and had beer. I watched the game on TV, and it was awesome, so I can only imagine how cool it must've been to have been there in person.

I've been good! Checking in on here once in a while, my army was stolen minus the tanks I had during a move. Kind of a drag but I enjoy seeing what people are still up to in the hobby and I'm happy to see familiar faces.
This overhall thread is awesome though, inspiring me to start up again, Yeti!

Are you kidding me? Stolen? What the frig. I hate humans. Hope you can find a way back to the love man. That is so damn weak. I actually joined a 40K league out of the blue called " Burning Stars" which is a narrative campaign featuring longtime friends. I've been playing a lot of X Wing and Bushido lately but I just started adding to my Valhallans again. For the most part I started tackling weapons I don't yet have, like plasma cannons for Sentinals. Here's a heavily converted Eversor I had built that I painted Saturday. We call him "The Ghoul of Hammerfall."

^That is the ducks guts! Thanks Captain!Hope your sexlexia is under control. Up next, a holographic command table for my HQ to stand over and blame each other about how their siege is going. I have had the idea for this for something like a decade and only by joining a 40K and dusting off my Valhallans (and bits) again did I feel the need to knock this out... you know, for ambiance. More detailed pics at my blog, Sarcophagi

Hey Guys, Thanks! I participated in my first Apocalypse game earlier this month and I am still dehydrated. What a grueling and amazing affair. Here are some random pics of other elements I have added to my Valhalla Guard for that event. I have more stuff underway, commingled with on going work with Strange Aeons, Bushido, This is Not a Test and Bolt Action. Whew. Great time to be a mini gamer, right? Commissar Yarrick (who was reduced to zero wounds 4 times in the Apoc game and stood up each time, including to contest an objective at game end. Awesome) Enginseer conversion from FW Mymidion Servitors for Enginseer (servo arms are mag mounted to swap in PC or HB) Valkyrie

Wow, just amazing. Everything you are doing is gold, well done. I don't frequent this forum too often, I mainly stick to warseer but I think I might be over here a little more often now. Keep the pics coming, very inspirational.

Hey Major,
How's it going man. I've been pretty busy with lots of stuff, work and family mostly. I owe an update here on a large terrain set I had built but I lost all the damn pictures! So I need to reshoot. Fortunately, my club just used the terrain set again at a 40k food drive event for Philabundance here in Philly. I will get some pics up soon.
Outside of that, my group just finished the core box campaign for the excellent Imperial Assault, which I ran as Imperials and made sure it was fully painted and somewhat pimped with 3d printed doors, crates, etc. I have some Bushido on the table then some guard aircraft.
Thanks for keeping me honest!

Wow, okay, looking at the dates of the event for which I had built this terrain set I see how pathetically overdue this update is, sorry guys. As I said, I have been building and painting a fair bit the last few months and also playing. But I did find some pics for this, so here you go. For my club's Libertyhammer narriative 40K tournament I supplied a lot of my older terrain boards and sets but had built an entirely new 4'x8' table with accompanying terrain... an Imperial Guard airfield, complete with kit bashed fuel truck which could explode during the game and an orbital defense battery that when fired, caused pinning, which it did and really screwed some Orks in one game of the tourney. As a Valhallen I loved every second of that This was a damn fun event and I was a TO and did not get to play, though this is clearly based for my Valhallens. True fact: To date I have yet to play a game on this board. Like I said, crazy busy. I will be posting some of the WIP from this build to my blog Sarcophagi (below) soon but I want to get some pics up here first. Also, some of my clubmates built some amazing terrain for this event, and players as far away as Canada came with really beautiful armies, so go check out the event page here: PAGE Libertyhammer 2016 and the Flickr stream here with tons of pics: Libertyhammer 2016 pics We raised about US$1,000.00 to benefit the Free Library of Philadelphia, which was a win for everyone.

Finally! An update That looks amazing and absolutly love the Orbital Defence Battery, was this a kit bash too? Has your army grown much since the last update, Super Heavies? That's ok we all have our commitments sir, just glad to see you're doing well and still working on 40K. I'll have a look on your club site too.

Thanks for keeping me honest! YETI!!! *SQUEES* Have you been painting up any of the expansion set 'Perial Assault minis? Churning away at the core set and the expansions, along with converting and painting stuffs for X-Wing, has largely distracted me from 40K for the past year. The Snowtroopers from the Hoth expansion paint up especially well, and I'd love to see what you could do with them...

Trooper! Hey buddy! Imp Assault expansion: I am knee-deep in an Xwing Narrative event my club is doing in 2 weeks, so I am painting up ships for that like crazy. I managed to get the Twin Shadows stuff primed for painting after the X wing event. I am itching to get that Hoth set... that looks like too damn much fun. Got pics of your painted Imp Assault stuff?

Well, well, well. Look what 8th edition dragged in: me.
Howdy. (looks around the place) Sorry for all the broken links... damn Photobucket. Well, the good news is I can upload pictures directly and I will be having my first 8th edition game tomorrow, my venerable Valhallans vs my buddy's festering Nurgle forces. All of this will be on a frozen air field I had built a year ago for my club but never played on!
Stay tuned for pics.
BTW: IF YOU WANT TO LOOK AT MY NOW-BROKEN LINKS IN THIS THREAD YOU CAN RIGHT-CLICK ON THE IMAGE AND OPEN IT IN A NEW WINDOW. From here on out I will direct upload to IGMB
