I must be one of the only people who actually enjoyed drilling and pinning metal models. Oh well! There goes my plan of drilling and pinning a metal greater daemon of Tzeentch.

Buy one just for the joy of doing it... I may or may not miss drilling and pinning metal models. Of course, there's probably no reason why you can't drill and pin the minis made with the new material...

my question is, what happened to all the metal minis made before they released finecast? melted down/sold/in shops? I know a large amount have been removed from the website...would of expected them to stay there in the hidden depths of the GWS storage shed.

I would think they would sell them all...

Maybe they melted them down and recast them as models that won't be released as finecast.

I suspect they'll have stopped casting them a while ago and are simply working there way through the backlog. Once they've cleared the backlog and the model has been unavailable for a while, they re-release it as a "special edition" But seriously, GW has been in the marketting game for a long time, they'll be able to pretty acurately judge how many they needed to make to ensure they ran out (or came close to running out) in time for the Finecast release.

IMHO, the Finecast minis are exellent!
The price rise is not.
I just bought a squad of 10 guardsmen for £18 english pounds. Just over 2 years ago I was able to buy a box of 20 guardsmen for the same amount.

@ RT. I love GW products and I think the quality is exellent. That is why I buy them despite the prices. However, as the consumer I reserve the right to complain as much or as little as I want.
