hey all sorry for the gap in updates but i was taking care of a lot of personal stuff and getting another job and... blah blah blah. same nuts different day. also, i will blame team fortress 2 for a lot of my missing in action... damn achievements to earn. gotta get em all... now that i've had a little down time and threw that painting workshop, i have a little more to show you all. here's what i've done in the last... month.  first thing i actually finished up was a heavy weapon team. just a simple heavy bolter, but i think i did a damn good job on the faces of the dudes, and the drybrushing of the heavy bolter giving it a nice worn look. unfortunately my good light is still out of commission but meh, you can still get an idea from these pics.   **edit: new pics, better lighting, better details standing out** i also picked up a chimera, and mounted a mortar in the back of it. i WAS gonna take a couple guardsmen and mount some stubbers on the back but decided against it... it's already armed through the teeth no reason to go over the top again like i did on my first sentinel lol.   note that the weapons, both the turret and the pintle guns, are interchangeable in these photos. how did i do that?  thats how. thanks go out to the dude at GameStars for giving me the tip on using the greenstuff for a false base. also, i let my girlfriend paint the tracks, so... yeah. the painting workshop at GameStars also gave me some chaos marines to paint, and of the 10 that were given to use, 7 are in my possession still. only 4 have been assembled properly and can be seen, but you can get a good idea of where things will be going with them =] note the dude that's on the far right with the pike in his hand, it was a quick and easy conversion of repositioning his hand and adding the pike with the space marine head to it =D   yes or no to the yellow armor on the standard bearer? i still have to finish him up, especially with all the detailing and washing, and he will look a LOT better real soon =]  i'm retardedly excited to paint this guy!!! =DDD love that space marine head on a stick haha. can it be used as a melee weapon? lastly, i was given another sentinel as a thanks for hosting the workshop, and here's the setup i have for it.    another vehicle with interchangeable weapons. love it. i only have the plasma coil good to go, but the rest of them (all 6) will be able to go on and off at will. that's all for now, and i realllllllllly should finish one off before i start another project huh? |

That Nurgle CSM is absolutely sexy. And yes, you can use the Space Marine on a stick as a close combat weapon ;D

did some decent work on the CMS standard bearer today, and here's what he looks like (in terribad lighting still) after i did some more detailing and touching up. still a little ways to go but he's getting there now =]    im not sure about the helmet still... should i go red instead of silver there? and same for the gun, red over yellow? |

I would def go with red on the gun at least to break up some of the yellow. Right now it looks like the gun is part of his pauldron and greave. The helmet I would go with red too, just another color to catch the eye and break everything up Just my opinion! All in all, He looks fantastic! |

the standard bearer's face kinda resembles that of a Predator =DD thanks for the praise on him. and yeah the red dude is bright, but its still a WIP, havent washed him out yet, which will undoubtedly kill the brightness =] look at the standard bearer's red, should have the same effect i hope. might have to add a second layer of badab black wash to get it right on the head-on-a-stick dude. here's a peek at all the dudes i have at my disposal right now. i think i'm only about HALF way through all the guys i have currently, and i have resolved to not buy any more minis until im done all the ones i have now. tis an effort to curb my spending.     got the full army, the CSM side, the MOSTLY completed IG side, then all the guys i have left to paint including my makeshift resin spruce barriers. |
