Alright, so my Sentinels from Wayland arrived a couple weeks ago, and I finally got the chance to start working on them. The first is more or less complete, it's not a very complex conversion, mostly cutting here and there and throwing on parts from the heavy weapons sprues. I also bent and repositioned the legs somewhat to give it a somewhat more dynamic pose. I basically slapped the battery packs from the lascannon and multilaser on each side and attached the ACs with some cutting to make them fit, then cut up a few other parts here and there to make em fit. The missile on top is supposed to act as a Hunter-Killer missile, even though they're actually a lot bigger... so I'll compensate for that on Sentinel #2! The lasgun on bottom, it does nothing. Maybe I could say it sets the ground on fire to create a smokescreen, like a makeshift smoke launcher or some bullnuts excuse like that.

I thought it looked too plain from behind, so I drilled a hole in it and stuck it on. It's supposed to be like a fuel hose or something, as if it had to rush out of the resupply depot and back into action.

I'd buy that but I think you should put together a sentinel refueling/refit depot and/or some charging stations as terrain.

Pure awesome, it's so much cooler than a normal sentinel.

No. 2 is complete, and very different from the first. For the AC arm, I used the chainsaw from the catachan sentinel kit and some leftovers from the shields on the other sent's ACs to cover up the gaping hole on one side. I used a leftover AC ammo thingy to cover up the hole in the chainsaw arm itself after cutting and attaching it. The headlights are obviously just the floodlights from the sentinel kit, and the double HK missiles are as well. I also put the flamer gas tank on the back, similarily to my scout sentinel, to add detail. The most noticable difference, though, is obviously the cockpit. I took the sensor/camera/thing piece from the aegis defence line autocannon turret, and simply stuck it in there. I also sprayed the inside of the cockpit black prior to assembly, which is why it appears to be a little darker in some areas at the moment. I wanted to cover it up a little more along the top and make it look more armored, but i couldn't get a satisfying result so I just left it. Someone who is better at modelling and such could probably get a better result than me. The torso and legs are still seperate, by the way, i just used some blue putty to keep it in place for the shoot.

That's a nice one. I was also thinking about attachment the AC under the cocpit and now I see that this is a good idea. It looks really good. Searchlights add to this effect too. Keep posting, can't wait to see another one! Cheers, dude, BCI Batou.

I put the third on halt because I couldn't find a solution I was happy with yet for the cockpit, so instead I spray-painted the ones I've posted here, a Lascannon scout Sentinel, and some infantry, and I'll probably finish painting some before completing more models.
I got a pretty messed up Commissar Yarrick. 'Finecast' my ass, resin is a scam!! I sort of managed to salvage him even though his eye was ruined.

I thought GW would trade back the miscasts for a new model. they do, they traded my rubbish yarrick for a new one which is perfect oh and the models arnt fully perfect yet because they've only just started using the new resin moulds which means there will be some defects, just like when the metal models started

Asked the store, they just told me to suck it up and fix it because it wasn't "that bad" even though his eye was gone under excess resin and there was junk and artifacts all over.
I finished painting 5 more guardsmen, and just finished the purple uniforms on 5 more. When I'm done painting them I'll base the ones I have before starting on the Sentinels and Commissars.

i was about to start painting the rest of my steel legionnaires and got sidetracked a little didn't like the old metal SL lascannon so i converted a new one from a spare sentinel lascannon since i'm only using ACs anyway i also figured out how to take better close-ups with my camera

Yeah, it's pretty similar to the old one too except for a few more details and it's a lot sturdier. I made a new one because the old one was kind of annoying to assemble and I had to use green stuff to keep it in place - when the time came to paint it, I just thought it didn't measure up so it got ditched. I might use it as part of some scenery or something later.

See that purple and blue guy in the background? I just ruined him completely because apparently my red gore was leaking on the side and I smeared red all over his leg and foot, and didn't notice until I was done painting something else. Then, while attempting to wipe a little off him to see if I could salvage him, I ended up snapping him off the base because he was only supported by the tip of his foot, OOPS.
Good thing he had mold lines and artifacts all over and I was just using him as a testbed (explaining the odd color scheme), but he was still coming along nicely before this and I would have liked to put him with my other anomalies. Dangit.

I'm almost done painting the first 2 sentinels, only missing some silver on the legs and feet, and I need to make bases... and glue torso/legs/base together, of course.

Hard to tell with the blue light but they seem to be quite crisp. The lenses look pretty aces as well.

imgur.com/a/3Rh1rI posted the pictures in my other thread, but I figure I can at least link them here. imgur.com/a/M8uqQThis also shows off a few minor conversions. I'm most proud of the flamer guy, since I made his gasmask and goggles from green stuff myself. Sure, it's not the best sculpting, painting and the pictures aren't great either, but I MADE IT which is all that matters.
