You know, there really is NO point in including a whole set of someone else's pictures in a quote. Especially if you're just posting a one-pic comment yoruself.
@ashot: I love the mix of old and new. It's actually quite difficult to tell which models are old and which are new. Excellent job!

It's official my second childhood friend is off to Afghanistan....
Maximum support to our Armed Forces and brothers and sisters risking their lives to ensure our safety.
PS. Sorry for hijacking your thread Ashot, I just felt the message would be appropriate on this thread

@ Bobulus - the camo nets are from a company called ' accurate armour' ... they specialise in 1/35 scale ww2 and modern vehicles... mostly transport stuff... they have a large range of diaorama parts... the nets cost £10 per pack of 2. @ paxole - yup correct again... you certainly have a good eye and knowledge of bits @ twitch - glad to know spock approves... its only logical he loves my models. hehe @ egon ... thanks dude... i tried really hard to make the plastic ones fit in with the metal ones... the only reason i added 3 plastic ones is i failed hard at removing the lasguns from 3 of the metal figures to replace with the grenade launchers... @ivory .. yup... wish him all the best... i too have had many friends who have undertaken multiple tours of 'stan ... thankfully they have all come back safe... as will your friend. ok chaps... update time... now do you remember a few posts ago that i have proclaimed to have built the worlds best looking hydra? well here it is... sadly like a complete dumbass i forgot to take wip pics... so i will run down the things that i did to make this badboy after the pics. firstly... i used an old chimera kit for this build... considering i had already raped the kit for some tank wheels i decided to redesign the track layout for a shorter varient... i cut the top of the outside panel and made a shelf over the track area, then made the sculpted panels and the stowage compartment... as well as the opened stowage bin... i built the main crew compartment up from plasticard and added large compartment to the sides that i imagine would hold the ammo and coolant stuff. the turret is made to look like the PANTSIR from battlefiled 3... using pics from the internet i tried to make it as close as i could in look, but simplified it for sake of actually building it. the radar panel at the rear spins manually, the turret rotates, the autocannons elevate 120 degrees ... thats all i can think of on this for the moment... any questions about this please just ask away.

Thats simply amazing! Just like everything else you've done, this definately raises the bar on awesome conversions. My only suggestion is thus: make more and sell them on this forum! I'm sure theres a few people who'd be willing to send a few bills your way for one of these.

Yeah question how much to build me one? i wouldnt like to put a figure on it to be honest... i used an old chimera kit as it has the ability to reduce the tank wheels making a smaller diameter track... also the quad autocannons are kinda expensive cos i brought an aegis line just for them... the rest is pretty basic but time and blah blah blah... er... no basically lol.. i dont do this hobby to make money... i have plenty already lol... @ paxole... yeah the stowage bins and trenches really were a must for me on this... shame the pics dont show the further details... the bed of the stowage areas has diamond sheet steel, and theres a bunch of ammo tins in the open stowage bin... i was going to make the bins open and close, but i decided against that this time... if i can get another old chimmy kit then il consider it... i spent too much time thinking about this ones design already... yeah, i really need to work on some troops your right... i have in the pipeline... plastic humans cqc squad with chainswords and laspistols, the beastmen squad... another cqc squad made up of just kroot with a human sergent... and a cyborg (necron based) melta squad... but i need to find the time and energy to model.. @ trooper... thanks and glad you approve... ive had a fair bit of praise from people on this conversion... but nothing that nice... upguardsandatem - i have no idea! to be honest, im finding alot less time to work on stuff recently... battlefield 3 is always calling me away and ive been at the local club alot more playing 40k ... and i spend alot of time making scenery for the borderlands/necromunda project (which i will be starting the plog of that tommorrow) @ivory- i have no idea what the honey badger looks like as i cant stand MW ... but im gonna assume it looks awesome... plus the honey badger is by far the craziest animal on earth, so extra kudos for those. ok... ive not been busy recently... but i have slowly been working on a project that i have a timeframe on... im going to be playing in an full weekend appocalypse game in 3 weeks (10k per side) with a maximum of 3 players per side and a maximum of 2 superheavies per side... considering i only have a shadow-sword... i feel i needed another ... so im making a super heavy flyer... of my own rules... its not the showstopper heavy bomber that i spoke about before and ditched the project (althought i will finish that) but another creation i have berifly spoke about in another part of the forum... so theres the teasers... guess what it is!

Ill just go check dakka, ammobunker and bootcamp to see what it is lol!
Seriously though im really intereested to see what it turns out to be. I have been considering making a super heavy flyer for a while now.
As for troops, do you make mixed squads or single race (all humans or all kroot or whatever)?
Thanks

Awesome! This is, quite simply, the best Hydra conversion that I have ever seen... Quoted for the truth. That is... yeah, what he said! Why on earth have you not entered Golden Daemon yet? This is a squillion times better than the generic (yet still awesome) tanks that win Forgeworld best Of Show and so on....

I have been considering making a super heavy flyer for a while now. As for troops, do you make mixed squads or single race (all humans or all kroot or whatever)? Thanks hehe... well actually... here is my home... i only post once a month on dakka dakka and ammobunker, and only after you guys have seen it first... i dont post on bootcamp anymore since i didnt get my prize for winning the painting contest... at the moment on my desk are several kroot waiting to become a cqc squad... i like the idea of mixed race squads, but also im gonna make some squads full single race xenos... and maybe the sergent human leading them... @- kreigerk - close...well... it is a big valk, but with a specific purpose... so guesses need to be a little more specific on that... its based on a real life aircraft. @ effect- nice of you to say, but i really dont think my painting is up to scratch to be honest... i still paint in the eavy metal style and my vehicles arnt weathered as much as stuff you see... i think my builds are ok.. but i need to perfect my paint skills... but then again, even though i parade about on the internet showing this stuff off... its really just for me to play with... i doubt id spend as much time on another army when i swap.. @ itericwatts - thanks mate... id love to see one of my creations in full size... that would be epic as hell... i already wanna see you guys in the cadian gear at the shows, having one of my creations there would make me buy a plane ticket immedietly. not so much an update, but more like i just gotta say how exited i am at the thought of my 2 ammegeddon patternned medusa's turning up in the next few days... i spent more than id normally like to, but i just fell in love with them and wanted to run two in my lists. a better pic of the beast... id say 35% modelling finished.

Any chance you're going for something along the lines of an AC-130 Spectre Gunship there?
Whatever it is - like the rest of your army - it's looking fantastic!

Looks more like Osprey to me. AC130 would be more... bulbous? But then as Osprey would'nt need to be much larger than a Valk and that clearly is. So... shrug!
