Hi... my first post so if i mess things up with the pics... well that will be my excuse.. anyway heres the beginning of my new imperial guard based army... EDF ( eden defense force) not technically an imperial guard army as they have no links with the imperium.. but a army based on the haven world of Eden. A colony and terraformer ship named eden , home to 5 battalion of imperial guard and alphamarines was lost through a wormhole and appeared in the other side of the galaxy, thought to be lost by the imperium. The ship landed on a unlisted desert planet and set up home... years past and with no rescue or contact from the imperium, the now named EDF turned their back on the emperor and now only fight for their own purposes. i basically wanted to make an IG style army but with more of an 21st century feel.. i have painted them in american ACU digital pattern, with desert coloured armour... all the minitures are converted in some way using GS , mostly to add armour, pouches and chestrigs etc. .. every miniture has had the aquillas removed . typical look of a squad command styles veterans in multicam primaris psyker based on phyko mantis look figure ( dr klaus from the projekt x range) converted to be levitating above psyscic energy swirl snipers old style ratlings in ghille suits heavy weapons teams warthog fast attack vehicle ( driver and passenger are work in progress) atm i have a huge amount of other models to make and paint 5 sentinals, 3 LR's , valkerie, 5 suards , 2 command, 3 spec weapon, 3 more hvy weps... command tank, 5 chimeras..etc... if you like i can contine to post up pics when i finish the models.. please feel free to comment on anything i should do with a 21st century feel... or just go ahead and critisize me lol.. .. thanks for looking!

Nice looking stuff! You really nailed the camo pattern effect on their fatigues... Also, I approve of how you've incorporated old school Catachan and Cadian metal minis into the force.

I agree, more praise for the scary psyker!! Your army as a whole is very well done though, and I like the addition of the additional camo on the veterans to set them apart. Subtle yet effective Good work dude, I'm looking forward to seeing more

thanks for all the great feedback so far guys... and if you can think of anything else i could make to give the 21st century fighting force feel to my army please let me know... Im thinking of veterens with NVG's, UAV's and drones ... modern looking tanks like the abrams m1 and wheeled APC's in the future... well heres the latest work company commander sentinal... this was a test one... im thinking of doing them all like this possible roughrider conversion... either big lizards ( lizardmen cold ones) ... or trikes and motorbikes... havent really decided... still waiting on bikes to turn up from foundry minis... and that was almost a month ago i ordered.

These look excellent. I love the Veteran's scheme.
Personally I'd go with mounting them on big lizards, it adds a little bit of 40k madness to the force and keeps them as cavalry. IMO bikers should use biker rules. You could of course write your own rules for bikers; there are some nice WIP rules in the Rules Development board if you're interested.

Why not both? It'd add a good mix to the army ;D I like the sentinel, although I think it could do with some camo. There's a lot of flat areas on there that'd be easy to paint it onto.

i got the warthog on ebay for well cheap... £5 i think.. though ive had to buy the others at full price and thats come to £13 each... still, not too bad for a great little vehicle... haha.. yeah im trying to eradicate the mould lines and im guessing my eyes aint too good cos i cant see them, but the camera did.. ok so im experimenting with a few more squads now... some veterens in berets with shotguns .. should look something like this pretty basic and using the microart studios commando heads which aint too bad, though need alot of neck to be removed to look right next up is the squad im looking forward to most... gonna do some troops in nightfighting gear... nvg's and cool gear... thinking of a brown camo for these with dark coloured armour.

I'm liking the camo scheme, been thinking about doing ACU pattern for my "serious" Veterans.
Keep up the great work.
