...So hows about an update on that pretty little flyer I'd really like to see some more WIP shots of it, as I've been tinkering with that same idea along time now... Thanks for the inspiration!

i havent madeamuch more progress on the AC130 ... i have made the main cannon and finished the top wings... i still need to do the bottom of the wings, quad autocannons, miniguns , fuselage windows, rear ramp and rear landing gear... but its not really that much for me to do... sadly money is a little tight atm as my cars decided to die... so i need to be a little frugal for a bit... but i still got plenty of stuff to get on with! anyway... got a few pics to go up in the next few days... firstly.. another basic infantry squad with a grenade launcher... and ive been toying with new xenos ideas and got myself a few lizardmen to cut up... so heres one i made to add to whatever squad i might swap a flammenwaffen with. tommorrow il be putting up pics of my devildog, turretted salamader, and experimental custom ruled armoured artillery spotting vechicle (rhino hull)... also il put up some better, more detailed pictures of my avenger, and possibly (if i finish it, waiting for decals) my Voss patterned lightning (which is sexy as hell)

Awesome Ashot!
I especially like the Lizardman, and can't wait to see a full group of them.

As always a respectable piece of work. I love the multi cultural feel of the EDF. I never know what to expect.

Poor blackman in the squad, is he the 1st casulty in the squad like 90's movies? ace job on the lizardmen. The camo pattern on the new squad looks different, I prefer the older units camo pattern. Looking forward to see your lightning, will get one myself at some point.

Amazing how with small conversions make the models look so different.
Very nice painting much better than me but one of the guys has crazy eyes. 2nd model from the right 2nd picture from the top. Dunno if your gonna fix it, you'd only see in super close up photos, so I wouldn't worry.

Absolutely LOVE the small details, like the hood - I'm so copying the arms - Never really liked the huge shoulder pads, and the added touch of a sleeve pocket is brilliant.
Keep it up, and please post more pictures of the AC130, even if it is only WIP!

The Lightsiders will always be my favourite unit in the EDF, I'm abit of a Halo nut and these boys remind me of the marines in H4. If one day you decide to try something new or just feel like fielding Darksiders, PM me and I'd GLADLY purchase your entire Lightsider division ;-)
I'm not being cheeky, I love the paintjob and "feel" they exude. No homo

That saurus conversion is brilliant. I tried something similar with skinks a while back but it didn't work out very well.
The infantry are looking amazing with that scheme/ body armour combo and the alterations.

@ Macknight - yep the black guy will almost always take a bullet first... my black ogryn is always the first to have all his wounds stripped... yay for movie racism... the camo on these lightsiders is identical to the other lightsiders ACU camo pattern, the only things i have changed on the newest squad is the removal of the shoulderpads and slightly smaller plate carriers than before... also the addition of the sleeve pockets.... apart from that... nothing... perhaps the colours off a bit. chapwilliams - oh yeah... that guys defo got crazy eyes syndrome... hmmmm... yeah i think il ammend that a bit... i think my ability of painting eyes is much better than say 6 months ago, but every now and again i can make someone look super derp and not notice... thats why i need the IGMB for my quality control. treadheadz - i will be putting up alot of WIP pics of my current projects over the next few weeks...as money is short im really trying to get some of my now aging projects finished... (@bg foster - yeah...i know lol) up and coming finished projects are appoc Stealth bomber - based on a F117 revell kit 40k'ed out The AC130 project My guard bikers, very almost finished modelling them... they look great. Atlas / Trojan/ ambulance combi vehicle - very almost finished painting 2 chims/ vanquisher/ medusa/ 2 demolishers /Vulture/ lightning/ kroot squad / darksiders... monitor artillery tank conversion marine landing craft (like d-day water landing craft) @chem - those lizardmen were awful to put together... they had to be pinned/ cut/ sculpted to make it fit and look seemless... i really dont know if i want to make many more lol .. so you proberbly know what i mean... @ everyone else - thanks for the comments guys, glad you like ... and no ivory... not selling... yet lol. ok... got some more finished pics for you guys to take a look at... here we go... first up... my Devildog... pretty simple really... next up... the finished armoured salamander .. ok... now for something very different. i read some interesting custom rules a while ago for a reconisance tank to help artillery scatter less during appocolyse games... so heres the pics followed by the rules... NOW TRANSFORM! 0-1 Mechanized Observer Squad Points Front Side Rear BS HP M. Observer 100 As vehicle 3 3 Squad: The squad consists of a 2 man Forward Observer team in an observation vehicle. The squad will never leave the vehicle and they are effectively treated as a tank for all purposes. Weapons: As per underlying vehicle (if any). Options: A mechanized observer team comprises either an armored car (See Recon Units) or a chimera troop transport. Regardless of which vehicle is chosen, the vehicle looses all transport capacity and turret weapons. The capacity is filled in with electronics while the turret becomes a massive spotting array on a telescoping lift. The crewman may still use the mounted lasguns if they are not targeting. SPECIAL RULES Ranging In: A mechanized observer team utilizes the more sophisticated seeking apparatus on their vehicle to range in. All rules not changed by the array special rules below operate the same as for a forward observer team. Observation array: The massive observation array replacing the turret provides for options in ranging in. The team may either range in visually, which is the same as for an infantry observer team (and may be the only option if the array is destroyed), or may use the array. If using the array, the array has a visual range of 48” Because the array includes numerous types of identification apparatus, if using the array (whether telescoped or not), only 1D3 is rolled for scatter. Telescoping Mount: The array may be raised on its telescoping mount to see over any terrain features that the mechanized observer is in base contact with or within (so the array may be able to see a target the underlying vehicle cannot). The user should declare at the end of the movement phase if he is raising the array, if he has not declared, it is presumed the array is lowered to protect it from fire. The array is vulnerable to being damaged when telescoped, even though the underlying vehicle may not be visible due to terrain. If the telescoping mount is raised, the array may be separately targeted by the enemy. Any enemy the array can see, can also see the array. If the array is hit, roll to penetrate on armor 10. Any penetrating or glancing hit destroys the array. If the array is destroyed, it may no longer be used for ranging in, however the crew may still range in visually as the underlying vehicle is not destroyed only the array. If an opposing player shoots at the vehicle either because they could target either target or when the array is not raised, roll normally for the vehicle. If a weapon destroyed result is rolled, the array counts as the only mounted weapon. options - can add a 2 shot HK missle for +15 points smoke launchers - free Camo nets for +30 points heavy stubber - 10 points Extra armour - +15 points

The salamander is ace, the spotter vehicle is odd but cool, insane toy like movement conversion! I'm not a fan of the multimelta on the devil dog, looks weird not on a turret.
I think the uniforms looking odd to me is the size of the dot on the camo, the new unit the dots are same size where the old units you had edge out some smaller dots toward the sleeves..

OMG the detail of the lights on the Devil Dog! Dude this is awesome. Also, how do you transport them all? I'm always worried about things like antenna on tanks, they snap so easily especially in carry cases..

@ macknight - the devildogs turret is just an accident really(and im not sure if i like it either) like my other ifv's ive got automated turrets, the normal chimeras automated turret wouldnt fit the hellhound as the base was too long and wide, so i made a smaller one, then i changed my mind what varient i wanted and chose the devildog, that required a multimelta insted... so i put all the elements together and that appeared... there are things i like and dislike about it... its a little too high and the multimelta seems a bit too short... the thing i like about it is its range of movement (magnetised movement) and the smoke launchers , sights and portholes on the turret.... but i think it looks far far better than the normal boring hellhound turrets... i will be replacing my hellhound with a automated turret now.
@ivory - ive got a few KR multicases and when i model my vehicles i have fitting them in the cases foremost in my mind... i agree that antennas are a massive pain, thats why i make them very flexible to bend to whereever in the case they need to go, and most of the time i will make them, and most parts, push fit or magnetised so them can be removed for transport.... also i find that completly filling a transport case is far better that half filling a case and having it rattelling around... turrets are removed, and hulls are doubled up to fit snug.... i can potentially fit 14 chimeras and turrets in one cardboard pick and pluck KR multicase.... all without rattle and any damage at all.

That's fantastic. Magnets are something I'm experimenting with, but antenna and other small fiddly details really bring out additional character to the model. I tend to go for a more sleek, aerodynamic design on my tanks purely to avoid snapping the antenna

Question for you. Would you be interested in putting some of your GS/modeling skills into a commission team up with Cosmic?
