Allergic to alcohol?  This makes me sad. Although I've significantly had to cut back on my consumption as well (although I wasn't a really heavy drinker most of the time) thanks to "teh diabeetus." made me sad too... i quite enjoyed getting drunk and clubbing but all good things must come to an end... but diabetees is far more important than my consumption of stupid juice.. dont think i could jack myself up on insulin ... not keen on needles much i certantly dont miss drinking. Come on now - we are all allergic to alcohol!  - If it was Bacon, I would shoot myself!! The dimension on all IG vehicles are awefull - but those are the guidelines to work within - my modern version of the LRBT springs from a Chibi-Abrams-Tiger concept - I'll try to post pictures this weekend - still need to build the turret, but main body and tracks are coming alongs nicely - I can recommend using LEGO and plasticard for basic frame and detailing. Once I've done the basic structures and detailing I will cast the main parts and add bits and details. My main focus ATM is infantry building and the LRBT as I see them being a big part of the new IG/AM regardless of the new armylist - Armour and Infantry - something never change!! I've allready started a shopping list of Zinge.co.uk bits for my version of your TechSeerBot! lol... ive given up bacon too! and smokes, drink ... strip clubs you name it... im like some really boring dude now. i like the idea of making frames from lego, i might have a go at that.. and il be spending a fair amount of money at zinges shop at salute on the weekend... cant wait! |

Yeah, fortunately for me my diabeetus is type II, so I don't take insulin, just a couple of oral meds. Between them and modifying my eating habits, I've been able to control it well enough to the point that after 6 months my doctor told me to stop taking one of the meds I had been prescribed because it was actually making my blood sugar go too low.  |

seriously though, my daugther of 6 has a friend at same age, that was born with diabetes - she's got a pump, and is managing excellent - so I'm sure you will too!
Just saw pictures of Anvils new K9's - got to find a way to include them in my IG - any bright ideas as is?

Ive thought about a dog section before... and I couldnt think of any counts as unit ...so I just made a new units rules up
k9 unit (special weapons team)
Unit consists of 3 dogs and 3 handlers
dog
ws 4 bs 1 s 4 t 3 I 3 w1 a2 ld 6
Armed with claws and teeth
handlers
ws 3 bs 3 s 3 t 3 i 2 w1 a1 ld7
armed with lasgun and frag ... flak armour
upgrades.
dogs may be armoured (flak) for plus 3 points each
get em! .. handlers may send the dogs to charge enemies without them themselves.. unit cohesion can be up to 12 inches between handler and dog.. but any ld test is at the dogs ld6 insted of its handlers.
as a model... ive used the wargs from the lotr range... I need to make the handlers and paint them.

i just made that stuff up while on the toilet... ws 3 would proberbly be more like it... but those warg models are pretty big.
oh and ive started my turox prime build... and i just wanna say that the guy on spikey bits claiming its gw best model is right on the money... its a fantastic kit... the detail inside and out is incredible... my only gripe is the thing is too small, ratlings would have trouble getting out of those side doors ,and theres no way an ogryn would ever fit inside... its tiny.
so ive started making the kit taller and longer...
i have... raised the roof by 3 mm, removed the side doors with armour panelling.
flattened the profile of the bonnet and raised the location of the front grille.
covered the vision slits with ballistic glass (like the tanks)
next is to add 40mm to the rear compartment and completely rebuild the rear to look like the buffalo 6x6 's ...not easy

Sadly, I had a friend (whom I briefly dated back in high school before her parents were recalled to Australia from their embassy jobs here in the Colonies) who was type I diabetic, who had been giving me general advice when she learned of my diagnosis, and had been managing her condition very well; she suddenly, and for unexplained reasons, went into ketoacidosis and died while she, her sisters, and their respective families were on a holiday at one of the eastern Australian beach resorts in mid-February.  |

now that is looking very cool, a nicelarge flat stable platform to mount a nice large flat moden turret on top.... it already looks far better than the (ryza?) russ next to it...
dont forget to make copies of the panels so you can stencil them out again if you want to make more...
you have inspired me to scratchbuild my own MBT's now, although id rather modify an existing 1/35 tank...
you should see the wip of my baneblade M1 abrhams ... its a real beast... well it will be when i make some progress.
ive nearly finished my turdbox prime, i just fitted the wheels i got from zinge earlier and it just needs riviting... if im allowed il put a pic or two up later.

ok... got a few of my WIP's photographed for you all to see whats coming from me in the future.. bear in mine my other wips already posted on previous pages... i havent forgot about them (ac130 and the showstopper bomber) first up.. my malcador counts as superheavy tank... based on a 1/35 scale M551 sheridan from the veitnam era   pretty easy conversion and the thing just looks nearly perfect as is... its already covered in rivits (although i might redo for larger ones) standard battlecannon/lascannon/heavy stubber loadout on a malc. next up... we are heading to the EDF's naval units. im planning on doing a appocalypse game some day at my local shop which involves the imperials doing a major d-day landing style game against an entrenched enemy, i plan on making a few of these ships to send in troops and lay cover fire while other amphibious transports push the flanks... well we will see... heres what i got so far.   now for my 'ARES' class superheavy walker.  although i forgot to put a figure next to it for scale, it stands at exactly 200mm tall... bear in mind its far from being finished and will have its own custom datasheet with multiple magnetised weapon loadouts. next up, something fun i decided to make when i was bored... its a ratlings personal transport vehicle...  points 35 type- fast/transport holds 10 ratlings overall (includes driver gunner and 8 passengers) when disembarked all ratlings pour out rendering the vehicle as unmanned. F-10 S-10 R-10 no fixed weapons comes with camo nets as basic. one ratling may fire from the top hatch while moving. someone check this datasheet out and see if its ok for me please... my friends have already ok'ed it for gaming. lastly... and the thing you have all been waiting for... MY TAUROX PRIME. this has been one of my fastest turnarounds for a project cos ive been so hyped to be the one of first to make a really decent conversion of this vehicle..ive already seen some try... but i really think ive nailed it with this one.    as you can see, its really quite different... all waepons are magnetised including the turrets battlecannon and gatling, the autocannons have been relocated to the front. the angle of the bonnet has been made flatter. removed the awful side doors and replaced with armoured panelling. changed all the vison slits for ballistic glass. added 30mm to the rear. added 6 wheels on improved parrelel axles. added top hatch. ladder, panniers, stowage,air filters,exhaust,sparewheel to make it look like a buffalo 6x6 . please let me know what you think guys! |

yeah all plasticard, wheels are from zinge industries (military 27mm)
exhaust from a russ, ladder from a baslisk.
the thing actually cost me £40 to make... £29 for the kit and £11 for the wheels... so i dont think il be making more...

Wow, that Taurox/Buffalo really looks great!!
It's pretty much the same alterations I had in mind, when I first saw it!
I really do need to get my hands on a kit and try stuff out.

Please do more pictures of the ED-209 titan next to infantry once you get it done; that titan looks brilliant; were you saying it's warhound sized or just under?
That Buffalo looks just great. I was wrong in doubting that you could salvage the Taurox kit although it looks like a tremendous feat of modelling, especially the back platform and door. If only GW made that instead....

its undercoated and been washed... im just handpainting the panels now... as like all my tanks, its getting the standard desert paintjob.
ive also undercoated the landing craft and been doing the armour panelling on the stealth boat...
il be getting the airbrush out for both those two in a few nights.... might even have them done after the weekend.
im really trying to get some projects finished, most need random parts for completion, and some i just cant be arsed to paint or to finish moddeling..

Great thread btw, love all the mods you've been doing. ~Yarrick22 thanks very much yarrick... the landing craft started life as a 1/35 scale lvcp , the kind used during the dday landings... the kit is great, but i decided that its a bit thin... mainly because i want it to transport non amphibious vehicles during a dday landings themed appoc game event i plan on having sometime soon... so i gave this beast some extra girth aswell as some general modifications and weapons... it can fit in a russ with sponsons and a full squad behind it if needed, althought rules wise i plan on it holding 1 vehicle and 30 troops inside.... its actually finished as of a few days ago but its kinda large and i need to picture it outside for best results... @ boobs mcgee.. im working on the EOD arm as a mod and alternative buid type off the standard turdbox/prime/buffalo... and i dont wanna toot my own horn but its the best ive seen aswell...only because not that many around.... the gerneral consensus in the community is people hate it and the rules enough to not wanna buy and mod one... but i love it. @ treadheadz.. yeah im liking that very much, its certantly a better shape and definitly more modern... in fact i want one... no... make that 6 of them... any chance you could make more? do you cast? oh and how you know my name... guess im not hard to track down lol. anyway... not much to show... i am really busy atm thinking about what my army needs to boost the HQ/Elite and troop selections of my army... ive noticed since reading the new codex that i really want to change alot of my lists.. so i will be working on.. 3 priests proxys - not a clue atm, maybe some charachterful vets. need more alien greys for my wardvane psykers a cool looking astropath (alien style)- i think i know what im gonna use for this. loads of snipers (im starting to like the idea of snipers in my squads cos ots 2pts per rifle) some decent stormies.. i may just use my 3rd edition metal ones as they are very cool. and your gonna think im crazy but i want 3 units of 10 man ogryn squads... 10 rippers / 10 slab shields / 10 power maul ones... mainly for crazy cc lists... i just got a set of the new ones and if i get 3 packs of them and 3 packs of ogre kindom ogres i could pretty much finish those units.... but i may stop at 3 units of 6.,,, maybe. i really want a special EDF versions of yarrick and straken... i have ideas but there not really great atm. oh and i need new psykers.. i already have psycho mantis but i really want some more alien looking charachters... so heres what i just finished.   and my last ones gonna be a new asari... but thats wip for now.. laters peeps. |
