4110, but that's everything at once. Total playable? Then you're probably right on the money (or points) since I have 4 FA, 4 HS and I think 9-11 (a bit flurry) troop choises

I think you should send me your entire army for guessing right, lol.
OK, ok, I'll settle for a guardsmen being named after me but does it have to be a penal trooper?

Well, I have the new standard bearer, haven't named him yet. Perhaps a bit better, and you can see if the paintjob is good enough for your name :-P

Well lads, ages since I wrote and posted pics. I'm ashamed! And it will be some time more before I can give some pics. Then it will mostly be on the hellhound that I have come quite a bit on and my new army.
Yeah, a new army. Got tired of painting thousands of guardsmen.
I decided to give my old Blood Angels a new life, washing of the old paint on the old models. The first finished model is a Land speeder Storm, that will be the "blue-print" regarding colour-sheme on my marines. My cadians is to be uniformed using a quick method (the knarlock green from previous in the thread) and then have details painted, a few guards at a time.
So, that's that... And this will be the last post I do without pics, as they don't give anything to the thread... That's a promise foremost for me! And partially for those of you that want to see my pics!
Finishing of with a question: My next SM project will be a Land Raider. Is there any interest in seeing it being painted and built step-by-step or will you guys just hang on until it's done? Reason I'm asking is that it's, as you know, a big thing and one that I will do 0 shortcuts on.

I guessed the points cost of his army correctly and as a prize he named a guardsman after me.

Well, I DO have a command squad that needs names...
The standard bearer: "Bad Guts" Foster The medic: Syphon And, I have a guardsman that is obsessed with blades, so I think it's proper to call him "Hacgutt"!
And well, then the LR WILL be a step by step pic post!

Here's the pics as promised! I forgot to take pictures on Hacgutt, Syphon and the standard-bearer "Brave Guts" Foster... Well, I charge the batteries on my nikon and will take some new pics! So, here's the LS, there's some minor work to be done right now. But I feel that the weathering became decent atleast. The WIP LR: Base coating Airbrushing and some minor details done! I've got it together now, and is currently focusing on the outside! And, for last, a HB-marine: I have some problem with these guys, first of all what to call the chapter... Any ideas? And the second thing that I'm trying to figure out is how to show the different categories, for example tactical, veteran assault and so on... Any thoughts? 'Cause I really need some help with figuring out those things... And as always, all critique is welcome!

So, the Land Raider is getting somewhere and I have pics of the Catachan CS! So, enjoy: First, we have the standard bearer "Brave Guts" Foster that stands by the fact that his laspistol will take care of all problems that will show: Then we have the not-so-well-mentally-speaking Hacgutt, bearing 3 swords and one knife! The commander has told him that he HAS to have a lasgun, so he stole one with a foldable stock, never used before nor after: The medic, Syphon, that loves big needles and says that everything from a cold to a bullethole can be cured with a shot! And at last, poor Ivory, the plasma-gunner that is probably one of the most zealous men in the entire Guard, having survived6 major engagement while carying his plasmagun: And, for last, my new raider: There's LOADS of work to be done still, but I feel that I'm getting there!

Definately getting there! That command squad is looking god Have another go at the OSL on the plasma gunner though; at the moment it doesn't really work as theres not enough green going on. THe whole side of his face below the bandana should be green, with the raised areas closest to the gun being the brightest. Simply layer up from dark green to light green, I recon you should be able to do it no problem

3ff3ct: I gave the OSL a new tryout, but I ain't to shure... I think I need some more practice judcottrell: Thx man! Although the IG force will be secondhand for some while right now when I'm building up my SM-force! And to the brave few that actually seen all my pics and liked them: This army won't be in focused on for some time. The reason to this is that I have a 12-week daughter and still want to paint. So a quick-to-paint SM-army is what I'm going on for the moment. Don't fear although! I love my guardsmen, and have some plans for them when I've learned my airbrush some more

Yeah, that's a lot more ballsy, and certainly a vast improvement on the first attempt! As you said though, practice makes perfect, so keep trying it out and finding new ways of applying it to models (scanners, power weapons etc). A lot of Golden Daemon entries feature OSL, have a peek for inspiration and ideas if you get stuck Good luck with your young daughter too; as many fathers on the board will agree, the first 6 months are a baptism of fire, although great fun too! Lots of naps also mean lots of painting breaks too
