Hey everyone! This is my army, the 48th Tolkhan Armored, a tank heavy and mounted vet. army. First the group shot. Note my friend threatening my tanks. Vet. Squad 1 CCS (And what will soon be) Vet. Squad 2 Close up of Vet. Squad 1 And my one completed and half finished LMBT's Eviction Notice and Money Shot Basically 95% of the figures that are in this army are used, bought off ebay or given to my by a friend. That's why many of the figures are... oddly painted. Any C&C is welcome. Thanks for looking! -Zeke

Interesting idea with grey tanks, but you should think about giving them a wash and some weathering/battle damage!
And have you considered how your guardsmen are to look? Or is that their uniform? Oh, and you will need maaaaany more guardsmen! Tanks alone can't win the day (been there, done that, didn't even get a t-shirt...), but with some more vets in chimeras is can be deadly.
Personally I like the idea of 1 infantry platoon, most to fill it upp with heavy weapons.

I've been meaning to put some washes on it, but I haven't gotten around to it.
Are you talking about the camo on the tunic? And its still a work in progress. I plan on having 3 armored fist vet squads at least.

Which ones did you paint?

The two grey LMBT, and all of the infantry.
My idea for the infantry is the planet that the regiment originates, Tolka, is a Volcanic Forgeworld, thus representing the orange, and the citizens of the planet are humble and extremely stubborn, so while they are good at urban warfare, they are proud to wear their colors.
Did that make sense? I'm currently working on a detailed fluff at the moment.

Looks pretty good, although I reckon your Guardsmen's skin needs a good coat of wash. Devlan maybe?

For skin I suggest Ogryn Flesh Wash, but do water it down.

I like your armies paint scheme, your orange armor really makes them pop, I didn't use any washes on mine yet either. Keep up the good work and upload more pics.

Hey guys, update time! So I changed a few things. First, I added Space Wolf grey to the camo, got some washes for the face, and finally went on a paining spree. First up, completed first squad: Next, what I have finished of second: Then my two of seven leman russes: And lastly the group shot: The chimera in the background is my current project that I'm working on. Any C&C is greatly appreciated. Zeke

Hey Zeke. The camouflage and the tanks looks really good, but I can't help but wonder if the orange flak doesn't compromise their hiding skill? But of course it would be typical the administratum to do such a thing.

Well, if they're urban combat specialists they can obviously blend in with the traffic cones.

How would you recommend doing this?

I too like the orange armor and grey fatigues--it's quite a striking combo. For weathering your tanks, you can try giving them a wash with Ogryn Flesh or Devlan Mud, and then try some dry brushing on them. Adding mud to the tracks and along the lower skirts is another thing you could try. Also, if you get your hands on some weathering powders--model shops should sell them--you could also try using those. If you've got some spare plastic card about, try painting it in the scheme of your tanks, and then practice various techniques on it until you find something you like.

Hey everyone! I recently finished up my first sentinel (which was a pain because it was in pieces, and I am still waiting for the damn thing to completely set) But anyways, here it is. And disregard the canopy, I ordered an armored one of ebay because it was too far gone (refer to the CCS picture in my first post) Any C&C is welcome

I quite like it, the cockpit bars look a bit thickly painted. I think you should try put some orange in there to match your infantry, although I'm not sure where. The pose is very simple, but that's fine, especially since it's your first one. Sentinels are a pain in the neck to build, but they look so cool.

Yea I was trying to figure out where exactly to put some orange. Also, my friend gave me this, in pieces so I did the best I could to salvage it

Very good, although I find it strange that you've highlighted the edges with black Was this to get a particular style? Because they look like drawings in a funny kind of way.

I like the black highlighting, gives the vehicles a different flavour! And the infantry looks really good now with the camo on the fatigues!
The only thing I can think of is the power pack for the ML on the sentinel. Is there a reason for it being there, as a spare battery for the engine?

danesk, honestly, I have no idea. I bought this thing from a friend without a weapon and the only thing he had was an autocannon, so he gave it to me that way. @cosmic, I saw it done somewhere on B&C and I really liked it. If you have some other suggestions to highlight grey I'm all ears
