Marry me, Paimon. That way, I can say that I married someone who's better at painting than me without having to fight for gay marriage.

Sorry syphon, your breasts are likely much too small and hairy for my liking.

Ahhh... I have to admit, I saw that coming.

I've got about half of the guardsmen (around 30) that I need, What kind of game are you playing where you only need 30 guardsman? LOL

One with too much artillery. All of the artillery.
Actually that is the number that I've got, rather than the number that I'll end up with.

My current basic layout plan for 1500 points, on anything where I have the whole long side of the table, is to pretend like there is a mirror in the middle of the field.
So, two basilisks in each corner, each unit supported by a squad of Vets with a Lascannon, Stormtroopers with Melta infiltrated into cover covering that approach, and a platoon with and attached Lord Commissar and camo-cloak somewhere in the middle.
Subject to change based on experience and terrain.

So no heavy armour??
A russ could really help that list, as a though nut for the anti tank weaponry. A demolisher can stay in the middle and target anything that comes too close to the bassies with its str 10 main gun.

With more points I'll probably do that. Unless I think that sticking more basilisks in the middle instead would be funnier.

I heart Manticores.

That is also a possibility, but I like the basilisk's ability to use direct fire.

Manticores can too! And they have a 24" minimum range, which is a foot less than that of a basilisk's! However, I do LOVE how the basilisk looks. I loves me some WWII artillery.

Got a bunch of stuff in today, first painted was my female Marbo. The cleavage is a little ridiculous, but that's not always a bad thing. Still trying to come up with a name for her. I'm thinking Bloody Mary, but only because I'm trying to stick with M names, and the Marbo stats do call for urban legend type stuff. Anyway, front: Back: Side: I think that this is the single best mini that I've painted to date, though the last one might be close. Edit: And again, apologies for the crappy cell phone pictures, but it's the only camera that I've got.

It's just Elf Flesh with an Ogryn Flesh wash.

EVERYONE uses that method. I myself do Dwarf, Ogryn, drybrush Elf.

I'm actually so bad at using washes for things like skin toning it's beyond a joke :\
