Seeing as I keep starting threads and never getting back to them because I flit about projects so much, I decided to just make one big thread and dump everything in here. current project: White Scars I have around 25 bikes, two squads of six, a command squad with apothecary, standard bearer, and champion, two attack bikes, a land speeder,a stormtalon, a predator annihilator, assautl terminators, tactical terminators, terminator captain, librarian, and chaplain, and bike mounted librarian, chaplain, master of the forge with conversion beamer, and of course Kor'Sarro Khan.

How do you like the Stormtalon model..?
Personally I think it is a bit on the small side..? Building it is really easy thou..

I think it is excellent actually, just the right size. It is a fairly nimble one man gunship, so it needn't be any bigger. Quite surprised it cannot deep strike, mine will escort Kor'sarro and the command squad, so that the entire army is outflanking.

Wow! A biker/ terminator army!
You don't like the flags on the back of the bikes, though. *Jealous of the stormtalon... thinks about getting one..*

not really a fan no, they would only break off. The stormtalon is a sweet kit though, went together very easily, I shall have to get a second, and a storm eagle. I plan to add some sternguard, and probably some tactical squads at some point, I have a couple of drop pods from my short lived blood angels army going spare.

Sweeeeeeeet! Always fantasized about doing a White Scars army, yours looks mean as hell! Love the chaplain, librarian and techmarine conversions, I don't think GW could do any better models themselves to be fair.... ;D

thanks very much, the librarian and chaplain were very basic, but I quite enjoyed building the conversion beamer for the techmarine's bike. fluff wise a bike heavy force needs a techmarine to keep them running, and in game terms the mobility of the bike allows good range on the beamer.

Neat bike Ymmot! What did you use for the conversion beamer? That actually looks like the forgeworld executioner. Guessing that was a bit too expensive to chop up @ Kirsten: Loving the army!!! Bikes are always fun! Especially your chaplain! He reminds me of ghost rider, so that can't be a bad thing Also nice to see a thypoon in there. When 6th edition allows for allies, that's the first i'll be getting

Ymmot, I have seen a few like that, it seems to be the standard, but I didn't want him to be that large. Looks to me like a chaos dreadnought plasma cannon end stuck on an imperial guard lascannon? I do like bike armies, I had a ravenwing army at one stage, which is the origin of this army. I sold my ravenwing to a friend, and he wanted me to convert his existing ravenwing army to the same standard. But he never paid me for the work, and two years on, has just gotten out of the hobby, selling all his stuff. So I was left with all these bikes which I have claimed in compensation. It should be a good army because I can add plenty of other units to it, ravenwing armies tend to include nothing else but ravenwing, with possibly a small deathwing detachment. This army though will allow me to take anything from the codex without it being out of place or a different colour. I am sticking to the original white scars fluff though and will have no dreadnoughts or devastators.
I like the typhoon but it is pretty pricey really, I have it left over from the ravenwing, but may yet take the missiles off, two heavy flamers is a nice cheap load out and will be greatly enjoyed by my eldar opponent, two multimeltas would work too. The army is a good size as is, so there will be nothing else added urgently, but I will probably splash out on occasion for something extra. I do like the idea of a land raider redeemer outflanking full of terminators.

It's a lot of points, but i see it working in small games. A double krak missile should be enough for medium vehicles and after that two frags to mop up some infantry. I'm talking patrol style games here though... Ah yes a chaos dreadnought. Hadn't thought of that one

The tip is from a metal squat heavy weapons conversion beamer, it came from something I found on ebay, and the rest of it was made out of a couple lascannons. I am really pleased with myself that I got a genuine conversion beamer bit to cap off that project...
and you can't see it in that picture but I used the same battery pack thing hooked to the back of the weapon that kristen has used as the power source for her conversion.
Anyway...the chaplain and librarian look great, what you can pull off with plastic kits is pretty amazing these days.

fair enough, looks like the metal plasma cannon, evidently where the inspiration came from. The Stormtalon is a great model it rocks.
Thanks cosmic, but I wouldn't hold your breath, you will asphyxiate. Today so far I have basecoated a scourge, an ork boy, and a ghost ark. I am easily distrac- ooh kitties.

Your pic of the storm talon looks a lot better than GW's pic.
Now that I think about it, they had a terrible pic of the storm raven before it came out as well.

yup, exactly, they both looked a lot shorter and fatter in the GW pics, but it is a great model
