And they look dopey.
They have like, silly long rifles and ride on gross creatures that remind me of space cows.

they look like they should be on tatooine (the desert world from starwars) with those mounts for the rough riders and the rifles kinda remind me of the sand people rifles too heh. but hey, so much stuff was ripped off from star wars in 40k, why not continue the trend in those subtle ways!! I'm not complaining as an avid star wars fan.

Yeah, you noticed that too turtle? I kinda liked them at first, but those things they are riding look like they can only go about 20 mph.

Yeah, well thats why with this hobby you can convert to your hearts content! I would seriously spend my lifes savings(at this moment it is about 6000) on those models! XD I want the red army!!!(the real one, the soviet red army, not that cheap knock-off chinese red army)

Damn right.
I would try to find some valhallans, but the models are so expensive and I honestly don't like the sheer roughness of them. So I'll just try to convert my Cadians with woolen hats, greatcoats and call them 'Winter War veterans'.
The Winter War: A war where the red army got the crud kicked out of it by an army around 1/10th its size, by a country hardly anyone's heard of (Finland).

Steel legion have been dicontinued, they've gone the way of the valhallans and mordians ect. Yeah, the winter war was crushing.

you can get valhallans and mordians from the online store, you need to look in the IG classics section for the mordians.

Praetion's should be done next, the old vallha models, no, the paint schemes look horrible, mabye making your own, then yes, but the green one, *ick* Vostryan and Praetion's are my favorite models, after death kords (the black ones with wwI german helmets)

You do know you can change the paint scheme right? lol. The death korps of krieg are alright... But the valhallans should really be done next, the guard are based off of the red army after all. And what would be more fitting than thousands of men of the red army with their tanks behind them kicking up a mighty trail of dust and fallen enemies with the glorious red banner sailing overhead? That is why they MUST be redone. The praetorians suck lol. I mean, the only difference between their models and the bloody mordians was their hats... Now imagine the modeling possibilities with the valhallans! Trench coat wrapped guardsmen with AK style las guns!

Yes they do, I mean another set of models, like the catachans and cadians. Not the bloody one timers like the steel legion and the vostroyans, but a permanent plastic!

I doubt that they'll ever make plastic Preatorians and Vostroyans. Those lines were special promotion lines that were only prouced in limited quantities.

That would be really nice. And I'm sure that would be the first time I'd play a list with lots of tanks and armoured infantry. If they had greatcoats it would be absolutely great. But for now I have to concentrate on something else. On the 23rd I finally get my Vampire Counts Spearhead box and will be working on them until the new 40k rulebook release

Hmmm, well they would HAVE to have great coats, its a must.

Especially since they'd look too much like Cadian's without them

I think that any guard plastic with greatcoats would be an automatic hit.

Yup. Just imagine the view of an Apocalyse winter table. There are a Baneblade on your side, some nice, converted T-72 like looking Leman Russes. Some converted Chimeras and loads of great coat wearing and AK like lasgun wielding soldiers are running besides the tanks. *dreams and drools*

I'm really dissapointed with GW for cutting off the old classic IG, and I think a lot of other people are. I think they know this, and although they do eventualy kill off the really old models, I think there's still a lot of money to be had in making some new IG classics. I await futher details with trepidation...
