Has anyone heard anything about this ? i have heard rumors for a few years that they would make the Valhallens in plastic but so far nothing.Instead they came out with another metal army last summer( Vostroyans).Don't get me wrong...they are a beautiful model but to me it seems like just another money grab. And yes i have an army of them painted up just becouse i am obsessive and have to have the new IG stuff../sigh.
I started with Valhallens at the end of 2/begingin of 3.It took me forever to collect a decent size army of them and now they are very hard to get except on /shudder ebay or through mailorder.
So if any one knows anything i would love to hear it,thanks.

well theve removed the valhallen metal minitures from the classic section of the web site so maybe there prepairing a re launch ready for apocolypse and for a game of that scale more plastic minis would be required.

To me it would be pretty easy to make them out of plastic. They have the robes for the Dark Angels, why would it be any harder to do the great coats for the Valhallens.

Today with all the new technologies used for mini creation, it is very easy to model whatever you want (by computer) so plastic valhallans could be a viable idea!!

The Valhallans are a great set of Minis, I belive they are being brought out in Plastic, as a few people have complained to Games workshop that they are unable to get them in thier local store, it wont be like the Cadians, A Plastic / Metal model for anything, I belive it will be like the Cadians, Just a Box set of 20 Troops In Plastic.
On the Computer thing, They use a Form of Cam Cad, Which uses Lasers to cut it out a metal block and then they use the metal to make a mould, it is a bit more difficult than it sounds, takes a few attempts to get a good version.

couldn't they do this with Voystroyians (dont know spellings[as in making them plastic]) or Praetorians because I recon they are both way more beautiful armies than vahallan.

Vostroyans and Preatorians are far more ugly then Valhallans could ever look, at least in my opinion. They both look too old stylish, I personally don't like the 19th century looks. And a nice army that looks like modern Russian forces would be a nice counterpart to the very "US-looking" Cadians.

I prefer VALHALLANS over the Praetorians. Neither are bad but combine the Valhallans with some Vostroyans and you have a potently kickass (not to mention original looking) army.

I think they're way better and look very original but like Knight said they could be updated

Woohoo! This is greatness in a can of soup form! My theme is the red army of the soviet union, so what better models than the valhallans?!?!? I can barely wait!

I just hope they'll really do them in plastics and let them look like Soviet forces in the fifties. *dreams* Then I'll be 100% sure what my next army will be

If they made plastic Valhallans I would actually consider building and painting a whole army. I have not yet done so because I have no drive .

And NKVD Commissars with Maxim1910 heavy bolters! And t-34 Chimeras! And like...who knows, maybe there will be kruschev! Crazy old kruschev? No... But then there will be like, KV series leman russ!!!

I cant wait man! This is gonna be awesome-sauce! Its like, ushanka hats for all!!! Hehe...ear-flaps... Only few had ushanka hats. Most only had helmets are these, small Red Army hats I cant wait man! And like, wooden lasguns for all!!! Don't think so. If they want an easy recognizable army they will go for AK-like lasguns, like the one Nitro from the old Last Chancers had. I cant wait man! And like...Trench coats for all! Most of the troops weren't wearing them. Most had them slung, rolled up around their bodies I cant wait man! And NKVD Commissars with Maxim1910 heavy bolters! Most likley they will get new heavy weapons, if they should be released I cant wait man! And t-34 Chimeras! They won't do anything with tanks I cant wait man! And like...who knows, maybe there will be kruschev! Crazy old kruschev? They old famous Valhallan was Chenkov, Captain Chenkov I cant wait man! No... But then there will be like, KV series leman russ!!! Nothing with tanks. That would be unfair for all the other Guard players out there who already had the old LRs...

Wow, cold. On your points about the coats, if they want an easily recognizable army they'll make them look like they did last series, not reinvent them to replicate the Soviets. Let the boy dream a little!

Yeah I knew all those fancy little facts. I was just talking nonsense. And for the tanks, just the way they look similar, the chimeras look almost like the t-34, well more like bt 5s I guess. And I was talking about kruschev, the old soviet dictator from a while back. Anyways.

Knight is wrong in saying that only a few had ushanks hats. All russian troops posted in western russia and eastern europe were suppose to be given fake-fur ushanks hats. Wearing helmets in the kinds of conditions they faced in Stalingrad was almost suicide. The steel helmets worn by both russians and germans would have allowed a lot of heat to escape through the head. The german troopers were not issued any head ware other than the helmets. The russians had a massive advantage because of the uniforms they wore.

I gotta reel in the excitement a bit here. I've seen no verified rumors of valhallens being re-released in any form and consider it (personally) unlikely as the vostroyans have filled that spot in the ethnic IG army line lineup (if that makes sense). basically, the russian model line is now covered, so they're far more likely to do another ethnicity than go back and make a second russian line.
