it's supposedly a special rule the gaunts get - if you roll poorly then you run out of ammo - I dunno sounds interesting if it's more than just a rumor.

I found it in the book this afternoon. Man the things I do for you guys. lol It just for the endless swarm formation with the nids. If you roll 5 or more 6's to hit in a shooting phase you count as running out of ammo and dont roll to wound for that shooting phase.

AHHHH.......Now that's what you call an 'endless swarm' Even guardsmen are bound to run out of ammunition at some point within the charge. But hey why need puny lasguns when you cn fire a baneblade at them!?

Nah, they dont. They just hold their ammo packs close to a burning comrade and it recharges.

Yeah Commissar , like the entire fluff of the IGis that our ammo NEVER runs out. Thats the whole (expletive removed) point of using flashlights, they're cheap, reliable and NEVER RUN OUT OF AMMO. Hell, but GW makes me angry at times (Darksides: this is more proof that GW are trying to make the IG subtly (or not so subtly) weaker than everyone else.)
Space marines would obviously run out of ammo, they are only kitted out for short battles. I'm not sure about witch hunters as they are both long haul (like us) as short term. I can't see eldar running out of ammo, nor for that matter the Necrons (the Tau should though). It just dosen't fit the fluff, in big battles (40K in general and apocalypse in particular) There is always a steady supply of ammo to the front. Maybe I should convert a chimera to an ammo carrier

LoL, yeah, well space marines are only involved in small battles... I mean, any battle they are in, they make is short.

Nazis suck there idealogy was crap and there military was garbage. When you lose to russia your a joke. Anyone who says they had a great army are fools. They had the manpower and technology to have won WW2 and they didnt because of the stupidity of there leaders, pretty much IG when you think about it, only IG always win, because in that respect they're like the CCCP (USSR) with the old steamroller meatgrinder. And German tanks were lousy a russian tank could full speed ram a german panzer and the panzer would shatter look it up ive seen the footage. Let me just say this now: the Russian army was under equiped, under manned, and In many cases were ordered into suicide missions. Commisars and KGB officers were ordered to shoot cowards, and sometimes executed men to raise awareness. Stalin conscripted hundreds of thousands of men, many would not even get a gun, let alone proper equipment. Russian casualties were in the millions, accounting for roughly one eighth of all casualties in World wide in WW2. The Russians turned Stalingrad and Leningrad, along with Moscow and the Eastern front into a meatgrinder. The German warmachine depended on the fuel and supplies Russia would have given if it had been conquered in 1941. Instead, the Russian army fought back with a ferocity and desperation not seen since in any war. But at a high price. The germans were well equiped, but thier tactics were reduced to nothing in the battered shelled streets. That is how the Russians won. Stalin executed all his leading generals and officers, so leadership was poor in the army as well. Mainly it was Zhukov who did any tactical movements that werent crap.

In 1941 the Germans hammered the russians. The russians lost 1000 planes on the day Germany attacked. Stalin was a %$£, he referred to Hitler as his friend even after Germany was invading. Stalin's russia sucked! the only reason Russia won was because of the size of they're army. A country couldn't loose with an army that size! (except Poland! they were also crap.)

Zhukov wasnt the only general who made a difference, rokossovsky was probly the most important part in the defence of moscow.
So, can we get back on topic please?

Its nice to see theres someone on this forum whose interested in history whose not me. If there weren't, I'd be a bigger freak than usual. And it should be noted that it was hitlers interference that led to both stalingrad(which the germans were mentally unsuited for) and kursk (which was a pure battle of attrition) . And mabus, you should really look at the warsaw uprising before crapping on the Poles, that was most brutal city battle of the war.
I'm interested in that new close support tank, the Hellhammer. Should be a good infantry support tank.

I have heard that the hellhammers main gun is short ranged and negates armour saves.

Wow, I saw the effectiveness of the baneblade on a group of space marines... One shot from the cannon wiped away 2 fully packed squads of space marines...

That is one of the best results of anti-beakie firepower I've heard of in a long time. The Hellhammer sounds like it will pair up with demoishers nicely.
