I love how the gold REALLY stands out but isnt so bright it makes it look unrealistic, must have taken ages.

I have always wanted a couple of these. I do not have the money though but you have done a great job. I suppose I'll just stick to drawing for now. The muddy effect is lovely too.

All Ultramarines should be sent to me as they are no longer needed in your sector.

Very nice! My feedback would be to have a go at some bolder highlights on the armour. THey're great already, although I'm sure with a bit of extra detail they can be oustanding. I really like how bright the blue is too, a nice change from all the 'realistic' dirty marines that are popular at the moment. Surely they're going to be shiny and bright, they're the Emperor's finest!

Lol! Thanks guys. What colour would you recommend? I currently from regal blue through some blues I mixed up to ice blue. Maybe add some white? I wanted them to look shiny as compared to my Krieg. So you have humanity's elite coupled with the uncountable masses!

Yes, try getting a bit of white in there, and a very very fine white edge highlight

Hello! I hope everyone has had a fantastic Christmas. Can't believe it's been and gone already! After a brief spell of painting Ultramarines I'm back on my Krieg. I said previously I was going to add another infantry platoon. After quitting smoking I had a little more cash than I thought so I ordered an earthshaker and crew, an autocannon squad and an exterminator tank! I haven't had much time for painting but have managed to paint the tank (my first i tried using weathering powder any advice will be very helpful! Here are the pics Next up will be the Earthshaker and crew.

Jud, I must say I'm impressed! Stunning looking tank ! I do love the mud and the colors, especcially the usage of the gold/brass. If you want some help with the weathering powders you can try a search on you tube, you will find some tutorials I'm sure, something like this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmiyEVluEt4 there is also a tutorial on the FW site www.forgeworld.co.uk/Downloads/Product/PDF//w/weathering-powders.pdfand of course you can purchase the FW Imperial Armour Master Class if you continue not smoking One small remark regarding the mud you applied. think of how the tracks will move, at the back they will transport the mud upwards, but at the front side they will come out from under the save guards and probable lost a lot of the mud. Also the tank itself is IMHO maybe a little bit too clean to justify the amount of mud on the tracks. (which you have wonderfully applied) I'm sure after you have seen/read something about the weathering techniques with powders you will be able to improve this tank even more !!

Had a bit of time after the roast lamb! Having a go with weathering powders is a lot of fun! Very messy! I used 2 types of rust a black soot and a dark brown, I used some white spirit to "pull" the dark brown into streaks, I'm happy with the results. The model looks better in the flesh. Not surprising given the unsophisticated method of taking the pictures! (my daughters camera and 3 sheets of white A4!) Here are the pics, spot the difference! Thanks for having a look Next is the Earthshaker and crew, looking forward to painting something a little less involved!

Ok. I've had a bit of time so I've finally got my Earthshaker carriage finished. I love these artillery kits. The Medusas I've recently painted hark back to WW1, whilst these Earthshakers are more WW2 in aesthetic. Unlike a lot of forgeworld models the DKoK range is an absolute joy to work with. I've heard a lot of people locally complaining about some of the marine kits but I've had no problems aside from a few banana shaped guns! Anyway here's the pics Thanks for looking so far through! Next I'm going to paint an autocannon squad. After that I don't know maybe more infantry, maybe more tanks, maybe a bit of both!

Thanks for the kind words Trooper. I haven't had much time for painting so the autocannon squad is still WIP! Though I did manage to get a game in against my mate's White Scars. Was a close run thing for the first 3 turns but then he turned the screw and that was that! That and the fact his land speeders and storm eagle arrived! What a mess! Any ideas on anti-air fire support for Krieg forces? I'm thinking maybe a armoured battlegroup as allies. Any thoughts? Oh yeah, here's the pics! Was good fun. I've decided to drop the dozerblade from my tank and my 6 deathriders in favour of 2 more infantry. I just think that an extra 20 boots on the ground would be more use. Thanks again for looking.

Hello. Finally painted my autocannons. They are the first elements of yellow platoon. It was good timing the infantry squads for yellow platoon were just delivered! Love it when things come together I now need to get the command squad and a tank then I have my reworked 1750pts (I dropped the hades breaching drills until the siege regiment list gets updated). Please do leave comments, so far they have been a treat and I feel the advice has improved the outcome of my models. Here are the pics Thanks for taking a look.

These are awsome dude! I love them :') I am tempted to say they are the best DKOK army I have seen... No offence to the other DKOK players on here, but its just my personal preferance.... The mud, the grittiness, its just how I envision the Death Korps would look Dave

I'm really digging the autocannon teams (Geddit? Digging? And it's a trench army? Oh god, I'm wasted on you lot...)

Truly inspirational. You've taken a generic Death Korp army full of mud and trenches and somehow turned into something that looks real. You should be damn proud

Thanks a lot gents I appreciate the positive feedback. These are the best models I've worked with, they do make painting them easy! I'm currently working on a squad at ease, I'll post some more pics when I'm done.

Thanks for the encouragement lads Here are the first two squad members for yellow platoon. Thanks for taking the time for a peek! I'm really chuffed with the way the army is going. I've only played a few game with them thus far but I think I need more artillery! (can you ever have enough artillery in a Krieg force!)
