@brigadier: Patience, sir. We are just getting set in the trenches, we still need to cross no man's land before we engage the enemy proper ;D maybe you could add thin straps on the sides?I'll give it a shot The second one doesn't really appeal to me. That's ok, it's based on a specific concept(kinda goes with that pulse rifle I previewed ) The last ones are interesting, not for what they are but for their potential. You can give them your spare cadian helmets, model hair on them, bandanas, whatnot. Yep, that's the idea! Since you're working on heads, you could go with heads with kepis or perhaps some peaked cap heads? I have those on the list, these are VERY WIP... do you have plans for individual hats that you can put on bare heads?
Interesting idea but probably not, things that small can create casting problems. I may try it at some point but it won't be in the next 6 months. -Steve

Hey, it's time our troopers got some cool things. I'm glad to do it. These hats still need detailing, that's what will take me some time to get done.

Here's a few sneak peaks of what I think will be among the next wave of releases: Boonie Hats Colonial Defense Force Any thoughts? -Steve Uuh, I really like the boonie hats! The helmet heads would be really nice and a definite buy, if the helmets were without those strange gadgets. Plain helmets and boonies would fit really nice to my catachans. Ponen19: I'm in the NW suburbs of Chicago, IL. US shipping is a flat $6, regardless of how much you buy. Also, you do ship outside US too, right?

id be willing to rip off all the cadian heads from my squads to replace with those cool looking helmets with the comtac style headsets... i alsoi like the boonies aswell... in fact id also like baseball caps with comtac headsets too... that would be awesome... im gonna be putting in a large order when these get released... in fact, im gonna hold off making more infantry till then.

Maaaaaaybe..... some conscript heads. You know, some regular Joe drafted in the army half scared on a brink of a suicide.

*paints Steve red*
Everybody knows red ones go fasta!
So, how do you actually make these? You design them with a program then print them out with a 3d printer? Or do you sculpt them yourself?

It's all digital, I build the models in a program called Blender(it's free). I have the digital files printed up on a very high resolution 3D printer. Then I make molds from the prints and cast them up in resin.

My bits arrived today, they were very professionally packaged, and they're superb. Great detail on them and I'll get some paint on them soon!

Most definitely, the high-rez machine uses a technology called Perfactory DLP. I don't know a lot about it, other than it's very expensive I use a company called Visionproto here in the United States.

Yep, I'll post an announcement here, you guys are invaluable. Your opinions mean a lot. Here's an update on the boonie heads, I added some detail around the base of the hat.

OK guys, I'm at the point where I want to start getting some feedback on arm poses. Below is a render of 5 poses that I've chosen to start with. The picture shows full poses but I'd like to have folks focus on just the arms for now. I'd like to know what you think and if there's anything you think ought to be changed or adjusted. Obviously you'll have to imagine they are holding rifles. Please refer to the specific pose number when making a comment so I know what you're referring to. -Steve

feedback on the arms as you are asking for: the forearm / wrist is in my opinion too thin compared to the hands, I´m not 100% sure of that but it is my first impression.
Are you also planning models aiming with their rifles ?

I would say that I hope you can choose when you buy - I'd rather have 80% of my army (at least) in pose 1 than have everyone running around in a gunline. In fact, those that weren't in 1 could be all in 5, then I'd be happy.
Check them out with rifles on too - proportions could be off, and I'm a little worried that the gun in 1 would be quite far forward. Could be wrong though!

Pose 1 is fine. Pose 2 is fine. Pose 3 is...doubtful. I'm not entirely sure what he's supposed to be doing. Is he a variation of standing up gunning like number 1? Pose 4 made me laugh. It looks like he's skipping across the battlefield! Pose 5 is nice. I can imagine using him as a forward sentry, slowly walking ahead of the column.

magot: What I'm looking for is feedback on the positioning of the arms, not proportions. These are basic mannequin style models and the proportions won't be the same. My bad for not being clearer about that. badgersplatter: The hands are a little forward, yes. syphon: I have to admit, #4 does look a little silly after you point that out So, overall it seems like you're looking for straight forward firing, no "on guard" or other poses at all. Does that go for the legs as well, just static, fixed poses? -Steve
