Mccaptain! Welcome back.
These are amazing, I like your yellow scheme and great detail work. Are you using transfers for the symbols?

@chem: good to see that name again! Yes, I will be using transfers. That will be last. Maybe this weekend. I'm trying to hustle on this project, so expect to see updates soon!

Just spectacular looking marines, mccaptain.
How are you finding the new tactical sprues and have you had a game with the new codex yet?

Thanks! Decals didn't come out as nicely as if hoped. Will probably take a fine razor and scrape out wrinkles and reproach the damage with paint.
Concerning play, yes I have run a game. I of course had to proxy , but I ran a 2000k list against a very talented player (GT winner several years ago). Got a win against him on my first try. He was running and Elysian drop list (100+ models, all FW). It was a great game. Care to see the list I will be building?

Nice; lots of devastators and even an aegis line.
I'm running IF successors too, but my 3 FA slots are a ten man assault squad in a rhino and 2 typhoon speeders. I have a talon but I might make a double force org list. I was going to take aegis line too but then rewrote the list to include speeders instead..

Sounds good. The talons are for anti air and long range AV14 control. And I love the new marine sprues. Really fantastic.

@1974: Thanks! Good to be back.
I figured out a way to get the wrinkles in the decals out! Updates soon.

You're welcome!
For your decals, here's what I'd suggest to keep them from wrinkling:
1. Coat the area where you'll be applying the decal with 'Ardcoat. This will provide a smooth surface that promotes adhesion. 2. Get yourself a set of decal setting solution: I use and recommend Micro Set and Micro Sol. 3. While a decal is soaking, apply Micro Set to the surface. Slide the decal onto it with a brush loaded with Micro Set and position the decal. 4. Then carefully apply Micro Sol to the decal--this dissolves the film that the decal is printed on, and in essence "paints" the decal onto the surface of the model. Be careful not to rip the decal until it has dried. If there are still wrinkles, bubbles, or excess film, apply more Micro Sol as needed until the defect flattens out/the film is dissolved away.

Fixed the decals. I don't know if you can tell in the picture, but they are way better in person.

I used micro set. Then once dry used a fine razor to scrape off any wrinkles. Then hand painted back in the holes.

Yeah, if you don't have it yet also get some Micro Sol, as that's the heavy duty solution that in most cases will get the decal to lay flat--I've used it to get decals to perfectly conform to WW II German tank models that have the Zimmerit coating effect on them. Great stuff!

How does it do on curved surfaces?

That's what it's designed for--in conjunction with the Micro Set, Micro Sol melts the decal down so it conforms to just about any type of irregular surface. I've yet to encounter a situation yet where it hasn't worked, although you may need to hit the decal several times for optimum effect.

At least you don't have high demands.... I will see what I can do. Good. Good... The one thing that I think these guys could use is highlighting and shading of their eyepieces, but aside from that they're perfect!

Yes, I've seen where people paint the glow from the eye pieces, but I just don't like that effect. Always looks like running mascara. I DO have a two tone green on the actual lenses.

Oh, no I don't mean the OSL/mascara glow--that is awful. I mean like this: Darker toward the back, with a small white spot, and a gradation of lighter towards the front with a small area of almost pure white right around the nose of the helmet, and a thin black outline around the whole lens. Then a bit of 'Ardcoat over the lens. I think this will really make your Fists pop!
