I always put the whole model together. They aren't actually that obstructive. OK. They look amazing at this stage. Coincidentally I'm reading Malodrax by Ben Counter, which is a biography of first captain Lysander. |

Looking awesome. Fists are my favourite marine chapter/legion. Love them. Got a small force painted up. Is that book by ben counter any good? Its next on my reading list after I've got the macharius trilogy. :-)

Its next on my reading list after I've got the macharius trilogy. :-) It's OK, he's written better SM books before (although those are judged to be very flawed by some). It was a slow starter, not helped by the fact that its 2 stories -maybe even 3- in one book (past and present) but after persevering, and now over half-way through, it's picking up pace. |

Thats the idea I had. Especially the old metal ones. Love those poses. Just ordered a load of bits to make some sternguard/foot vanguard vets. Based on the fluff from sons of dorn about fists using swords Im using grey knight arms. Hopefully it will look alright. When I eventually get round to doing them... lol

I got 2 boxes for a big squad of 10 sternguard and an extra pair of legs from a bitz site for my librarian conversion. Then later I made another squad of 5 sternies (my fave so far) just using new tactial squad bitz, command squad shoulder pads and the stormbolters / heavy flamer from a variety of kits.
I don't think sternies without stormbolters are worth it for IF, but they're kind of expensive with the upgrade.

The doubles tournament was just one of many events that took place that weekend. I didn't have the time to compete in the main event. My buddy and I did win the doubles tourney though!
