Then I assume you don't have art stores with web sties. Find reviews of color quality and then use an online store to have the paint you like sent to you.

For online orders the only art material site I can think of is Hobbycraft. So lucky I got palette paper and spray paint before the lockdown.
This Voxcast episode was mostly about the development of Admech. There are whole teams of Tech priests on Mars studying 80s pop culture (as well as everything else in human history including emoticons and memes) and then taking it all literally, before worshipping a PacMan arcade machine.

So today I took delivery of a resin 3d printer: Sadly the resin didn't get delivered so it will be a today a few days away before I really get to play with it.

Which one did you go for? What will you print first?
We should get a 3D printing stuff thread.

I got an Elegoo Mars; I read up on it after RT recommended it and it seems like an excellent machine for the price.
As for printing.. I've got a few things planned. I'm playing an intro game of genesys with my buddy sometime soon, so I might try and print miniatures for that if I enjoy the game.
I've also seen some necromunda bulkheads (which I've been looking for a while but not at ebay prices) I'd like to print.

I've been looking at 3D printers myself, though am probably going to get a laser cutter first,
I'll be interested to see how things look once you get them printed, are you planning to design your own pieces too?

nutty : I'd recommend making sure you've got plenty of cleaner (I'm using methylated spirit. Don't let the model soak too long, it'll disintegrate), nitryl gloves, and replacement FEP for the tank. The Elegoo official resins have worked well so far for me.

RT: I've got some 96% rubbing alcohol to clean stuff with, and I'm joining the facebook group right now for some free FEP.. I think I might've screwed mine up already. So far I've gotten about 90% through the 'rook' test pieces that came with the printer, but they started clinging to the film and the base came of the construction plate. One of them was stuck on there really tight and I think I scuffed the film trying to get it off.. So I'll have to see how big an impact that will have on the next print. The detail looks really good already though, I just need to get things set up properly.
Tread: I've used blender to design and render a donut earlier today.. but I'd like to move on to some more war gaming related things down the line. For now I'll try and get the hang of printing things first.

nutty: I've been working through the same tutorial today!.. sort of abandoned it when I realised it wssn't the latest edition of blender (when making the monkey head catch fire)!

I followed it up untill the texturing part (i think the first 6 or so videos) and I didn't run into any compatibility issues. I didn't spawn in the monkeyhead, but I did set my donut on fire for fun. edit - now with donut picture:

It's nice to finally be able to afford the models after all these years. Though sadly actual painting will have to wait until everything opens up again, my LGS is nice about me using their painting supplies. Finally have some basic guardsmen, though I'll probably invest more in Tempestus Scions once these guys are put together.

Pretty good all things considered. Luckily I get to work from home so I'm pretty secure until the fall when my contract is up.

I'm tempted to get the FW wrecked thunderhawk, and then get a dremel on it and make it more wrecked (by splitting up the main sections and hollowing them out)...

I got my third GW package today, dispatched a lot faster than the two that were ordered on the 11th and 15th, the second only arrived yesterday. Hopefully this will cover the remaining shortages on paint project colours because I probably won't be ordering anymore for a while.

I'm confused by the last post being from May. Anyway, today is hopefully the last Sunday I have to work for a long time.

hmm, 40, what should I do? I figure I can probably justify buying something daft. any suggestions? I made thirty this year. Given I was seventeen when I started frequenting here, this is modestly terrifying. Probably the most complex print I've done to date: a 6mm brass scorpion of Khorne for my Epic 1000pt Lost and Damned army.
