I think everyone loves Sentinels! They’re just so cool!
I’m liking the Deathwatch loads too. Great work all round.

The Sentinal looks badass! Really like the scheme you've gone for, I hope he will have a Friend to join him.
The Deathwatch guys look cool, a group of guys you really don't want to upset.

Some troops! I finally picked up a box of guardsmen that are now half built and will get some green stuffing to make a bit more grizzled. Gunna take my time this time and try and make everything atleast a little unique

I like the chequered patch, was it hard to do when it's small squares like that? I've not got that small before so I tip my hat off to you.

They werent too bad. I do the black first then just little dots of light grey so I know the grid. They its just pulling the dots into squares, highlight with white and clean it all up by fixing the black squares. I know the pictures are gone now but I used to have my Lamenters army up on this thread too so you could say I have some experience with the checker pattern haha

So after accidently getting two coworkers into 40k in one night (out of the blue on bought two boxes of sisters and the other some tau pathfinders and paints), i decided to speed up my deathwatch so i could play with them and put the guard onto a slight backburner for tbe next month or so until I have a playable DW army. So here we have three more vets on the way and a new squad of elite vets (watch master and his personal kill team made of DW vet box and the sternguard box). Three almost done. A blackshield, flesh tearer, and novamarine sgt. Heres the new squad. Watchmaster and his chosen elites. You have a disciple as the champion, tauron, salamander with the HF, silver skull, a proctor of orpheus, and the watchmaster will be a son of orar Disciple Champion (gs is drying and will be cleaned up) And i thought the drake pelt for the saly turned out cool

What the hell are those heavy weapons?
They look like they’d put a serious hole in something!
This force is coming along well.

Two more done. Working on a the Watchmasters personal cadre. His heir apparent and second in command and a champion were up first. Once again, all lenses and jewels are not done yet but will be. Dont judge my laziness haha Disciple (my own chapter) And a Shield Brother (pretty sure its a made up chapter) url=https://ibb.co/6rJTWFL] [/url]

Watchmasters command squad finally finished. Just the watchmaster now from what I have. Probably a few van guards and then a corvus and a few vehicles after to finish it up. First up is a Hawklord And a Salamander. I tried really hard to make the face black while not just getting lost in the armor. I failed...oh well close enough And a Tauron with a big ass hammer that is very bland And the full squad

I'm loving that Hammer dude, he looks fun to paint.
Could you imagine being Kroot and coming across him, I'd lay an egg and run.
Are they storm troopers in the back ground? I was so close to getting some Star Wars stuff but the latest films put me off Star Wars for thr foreseeable future.

I was so close to getting some Star Wars stuff but the latest films put me off Star Wars for thr foreseeable future. Funnily enough he was the least fun though I have always loved the super thunderhammer haha. There just wasnt as much flair to paint as the others had but he still fits enough with the similar talbard. And they are actually phase 1 clone troopers. Since i started this hobby 15 odd years ago, the set I was most wanting was a box of clone troopers so when it finally happened, I couldnt resist. Easiest models in the world to build but now im afraid to paint them haha. Too much white

When it comes to white, I always use Vallejo because the GW stuff is dry before you even open it. With the Vallejo I can water it down slightly and it's silk, so I recommend this if you ever feel brave enough to paint one.
I had a good look at the box set in GW yesterday and it's pretty decent, once I clear my current back log, I'll get that box set.
What do you have coming up next?

Definitely agree with the gw white. Ive done a few apothocaries in full white before which have come out alright so Ive got a recipe just dont want to implement it a ton of times haha. I might give the contrast paints a go on them
And Ive got the watchmaster almost finished, just need a little time to wrap it up. After that? Not sure, probably finally paint that guard squad.

Loving the vets. I think you’ve nailed what Astartes are, every man a hero!
I especially enjoyed seeing the Hawklord, he looks nails!

The Deathwatch are coming along nicely. The Disciple with the crested helmet is really good. Like the sculpting on the shoulder pad symbol.

The Watchmaster is probably my favourite Deathwatch model you've done!
Any luck finding a recipe for the power weapon?
