Well I decided to paint the 2 Lieutenants from the Dark Imperium box. I've added a crest to each to keep the Roman/Greek look going. My flesh painting leaves a lot to be desired but I did my best! I'm currently waiting on an order so until that arrives I'll be working on my second unit of Intercessors.  Primaris Ultramarines  Primaris Ultramarines  Primaris Ultramarines  Primaris Ultramarines The second one is probably my favourite Ultramarine I've done (except for Guilliman)! Really pleased with how these are going. |

Jud, they are looking cool on those bases and the face is pretty good, I'd be happy to complete a face that well.
The last Picture on the shin, I think he needs a wash on the Brass? It could be me but the shin looks different to the chest Brass?

Yeah does look a bit off on the pic. Don’t know what happened there! Maybe I didn’t shake the paint well enough before watering it down!!

Isn't it just the light? between the pose and the shadow the model is casting it looks like the shin might not be cathing a whole lot less light than the chest.
They are some mean looking marines though; keep up the good work.

Have you had a chance to use the new marines in a game? If so, how did they fare? On the bright side, at least yours looked gorgeous!

Cheers nutty! I know what you mean, I wasn’t a fan until I saw it in the flesh, it went together quite well, though there is a slight gap on one
of the sides (which I can’t be bothered to fix!)
Thanks mccaptain, I’ve only played 3 games with them and one of those was the Carnage 4way game from the rule book.
So far they’ve done great! I won the multiplayer game and one against a combined Khorne list (Bezerkers and Daemons) but
lost vs Tyranids.
So far the stand out units have been my Hellblasters, when combined with a Captain and Lieutenant they can really bring the pain!
Also Intercessors are better in game than on paper (especially since the pt reduction in Chapter Approved)

OK, I've had a productive couple of days! Been going hell for leather on my Repulsor. I found it very relaxing to paint (that's what I'm in it for!) I know it divides the crowd but I really like the model. A friend of mine reckons that I'm a heretic for embracing the Primaris range! I just think they're too cool not to! I think GW has finally given me what I want, post human giants armed with the best weapons and equipment the Imperium can muster! Marines have been sold with fluff that made them sound incredible for years, now we have the models to match the backstory. it has a bonkers number of guns!
I must admit I like the primaris marines - even if I use them as normal marines in games I like the way they represent the fluff better - they tower over my guard like they should!
not sure if the repulsor is for me - you've made your's look ace though! well done.

It's a great look with the brass/Gold up the side.
I didn't realise how many guns it has, do you even need Space Marines if you have this thing? It's a Pocket BaneBlade!

The new repulsor looks great, as do the hellblasters and all the rest of it.
The front guns are las-talons ; the lascannon flyer variant guns.

Reds, it was a bit of a surprise for me too! I thought it would be huge but it’s about the same size as a Landraider. Model wise there’s no reason for Primaris not to use Landraiders.
Treadiculous, yeah I love them too! I’ve been really inspired by the whole range, they look and feel like how Marines should have always been! I’m looking forward to seeing them along with the (planned) Guard element to my Ultramar force, the difference in scale should make for an interesting look!
Major Downer, thanks, I’m glad you like it! The turret is especially covered with weapons, it’s lucky 8th did away with vehicle facings otherwise this tank wouldn’t work in game! They’re facing everywhere!!
If only it was as tough as it looks!
Cheminhaler, thanks very much! The Lastalon is basically a twin lascannon with a shorter range of 24”

I too love the look of the Primaris Marines. My fear is that the writing on the wall gives standard marines MAYBE two more editions before they are written into obsolescence. It will probably happen about the time I finish painting my Vth Company.
