I'm just quietly sobbing as I consider pinging off the lascannons from my four Vendettas. Guardsman, you are hereby informed that an investigation has been opened into your guilt of the following crimes against the Depatrmento Munitorum: Thank for informing me of the forthcoming proceedings. May I appoint my own representation ? Or must I rely on the Departmento Munitorium appointed junior officer cadet ?

Not sure how I feel about the demise of the Platoon structure. Good to see orders are still in though. Haven't heard of anything that prevents any order from being issued from or received whilst inside a vehicle. Also wondering if my OoF and MoO can sit inside a Valkyrie and drop bombs from there ?

Representation is not required, you will be informed of the Guilty Verdict when it is processed. Haven't heard of anything that prevents any order from being issued from or received whilst inside a vehicle. Also wondering if my OoF and MoO can sit inside a Valkyrie and drop bombs from there ? The transport rules say that embarked units can't interact or be interacted with in any way, unless otherwise stated. For instance, fire point rules are a specific exception on a datasheet that allow units to shoot.

For instance, fire point rules are a specific exception on a datasheet that allow units to shoot. Oh bugger. God forbid they enter any rules that remotely represent reality. 'Cos a vehicle clearly wouldn't be able to be fitted with the equipment to manage both a Command AND Control net. Maybe my ex-Vendetta can drop the two OoF and MoO off on a spot of high ground, right next to a gaggle of berserkers, call in their air strike and fire mission respectively. Then they may as well charge said berserkers for good measure and see what they can't do with their shiny pistols. They may as well charge in because it doesn't seem that they're much use for anything else. Not after these two show ponies have shown us their one and only trick. Cancel the Investigation Tricky ... I'll just put in for a MoO course ... that'll teach me eh ?

I have a feeling the Vendetta might end up in the Imperial Armor books, but maybe that's just being delusional.
Overall, though, I'm pretty happy. Both Orks and BA came out supremely choppy, Space Marines (of course) aren't bad, and received some much needed nerfs, and Dark Eldar are better by virtue of the fact that GW would have had to have worked hard to make them any worse. I'll take it.

Besides having platoon structures made fluffwise sense, I also loved the possibility to bring an immense amount of infantry in one standard slot, but maybe GW adds it in the upcoming codex.
Guess AM artillery will have a comeback. Three Basilisks with Heavy 2d6 (taking the highest result) S9 Ap-2 Dd3 with no LOS necessary at 327 points seems hot. Further having a MoO nearby to reroll 1s to hit. Babysitting those will be easier since deepstrike is gone.

Yep, I think that's a good shout. This multi codex drop is probably a good thing, necessary in fact (regardless of the differing stat line) to establish a level playing field for now and for the future codex releases.
I know that in life we don't always learn the lessons we should do. Sometimes we do but only after it's been taught to us several painful times.
I hope GW management (now and future) see that codex creep to sell a new line of kits is a short term business plan. In the long term I reckon it had a large part of killing the game. It's one of the main reasons 40K had to be thouroughly re-jigged.
I'll let the dust from the 8th ed cataclysm settle on these five new codex / index and come the time the base will be there to create a new codex for each individual faction that remains fair and balanced as well as individually characterful.
The new Guard book will probably appear next year. That's when I'll be seriously critical. Up until that time I think I'll just suck it up. For the good of the game and the community it creates.
Someone somewhere has probably said all this already ... but I can't be bothered to scroll back and check.

Having said all that, I can't see why dedicated transports are out. I accept it, and I like how the transports themselves as individual choices have developed. But I've built an entire 10th company for them all to be cutting about in their own Landspeeder Storms. All scouts and landspeeders ... nothing else. Deep striking in, smashing stuff up, speeding off whilst giggling like naughty schoolboys.
I can't do that now whilst remaining battle forged.
I'm sure there's a good reason, I just can't see it.

What the ever-loving feth is that supposed to be? I think that these "Primaris Marines" should be investigated for tech-heresy. I'm actually kind of sad that they have introduced the concept of "hope" into the Imperial narrative. I was happier when everything was doomed...

When a predator, Land Raider, and Land Speeder all love one another very much... I sort of like it and sort of don't at the same time.

This is the worst thing since the taurox Taurox isn't so bad if you leave some of the busy bling off of it.

This is the worst thing since the taurox Is is worse than the stormraven? If so, it is the worst thing since whatever was the worst thing before that. Anyone remember what the stormraven was the worst thing since?

I think Taurox regular only picks one weapon, I think I'd only ever mount the dual autocannons. Also nipples forever! Long live the 1990s, decade of the nip on.

This is the worst thing since the taurox Agreed, the Taurox is an abysmal and total abomination. I proxy Goliaths instead. This tank however is the tank that the space marines should have always had from the outset. All this new kit is making me want to start a space marine army.

Space marines are not supposed to have proper tanks, that is the whole reason that they split the Imperial Army into the Guard and Navy. Keep things separate or someone is going to get all traitory. Look at what the Astral Claws did when they got access to Guard and Navy assets.
Also, it is too bad people don't like the Taurox. The Prime is starting to look like a super effective unit.

The Taurox looks like something Boer snipers would plink at (circa 1901) with young Winston sat atop, shouting witty abuse. Secure in the knowledge that his plasteel lined pith helmet grants him a 2++
Anyway ... just been to GW NZ Yep ... it's all there to pre order. No uber dreads or skimming heavies though.

It does look like they have some bundle deals. I didn't price out the starter sets+rule books, but the BA dread mob is less than if you bought four furiosos separately.
