That's a good looking priest! I wish I had a brother like that; last thing my brother gave me was a box of kitchenware he wanted me to carry up two flights of stairs... In his defense I did offer to help him move, so I guess it was my own fault.

That's a nice Brother. He must have been fun to paint and He'll fit into your Krieg army, I can see him willing the men onwards.
Which Metal ones did you get?

Cheers lads!
My brothers are pretty awesome!
Nutty, glad you approve, I wasn’t really happy with him (it’s the face)
MD, I thought every Crusade needs a religious element! I got the monkish looking bloke with a Chainsaw, one with a plasmagun and bionic arm (my favourite of the bunch) Also a couple of others. I checked on the GW site and none of them are available! I’ll post pics once I’ve painted them. First though I need to finish my next Krieg Infantry squad.

I promise you the guy with the plasma gun and Bionic arm is so much fun to paint. I run him with my sisters because he looks cool and the Plasma Gun.
Yes, we need more Krieg Infantry for the priest to will onwards!

The model does have a weird face with that chin/growth to the side of it.. but that's the model more that the paintjob IMO. Maybe you could decrease the contrast/shading betwern those parts so the transition isn't as apperant. It looks like it is prone to becoming overdefined; a bit like the muscles on Catachans, those look better with less definition to.
But I think the priest has enough bling to distract from his chin, especially if you looknat him from a bit of a distance.

MD, He does look pure 40k! I’m looking forward to painting him. I have to finish some Primaris Ultramarines I’m working on then I’ll go at the Krieg stuff big time!
nutty, thanks for the benefit of the doubt! I think he’ll do for now, like you said, he’ll look ok on the table!

Cool Kriegsmen!
They are probably redoing the molds for that other again; I doubt they'd discontinue them.

Noice! I like the little red strip on the helmet, I've only just noticed them. Great standard of painting on those Krieg, I know I said before but they're that good to look at.
Yea I think they will re-do the molds for them, hopefully they won't take too long, like the Gorgon... talk about dragging it out.

Thanks guys!
Nutty, I hope you’re right, it would be a shame to only have 2 different varieties of squad.
MD, I put the red stripe on all models that have special equipment (vox, serg etc) glad you like them.
Next up will be the Priests.

A random Priest I've added to the Crusade! 40k Priest 40k Priest I really enjoyed painting this guy, he just oozes 40k! I'm pleased with the red and black colour scheme, I might roll it out for all the officers, would give them a little something extra over the basic grunts.

Cool stuff; that chainsaw looks appropriately ridiculous.
The black and red looks nice, would be interesting to see a krieg officer in that scheme.

Thanks nutty! I think I will use the black and red scheme on the next Officer I do. More Priesty action this time! 40k Priest40k Priest 40k Priest 40k Priest Next up will be something more Krieg specific.

YEEEEEEESSSSSS'A! Crazy Priests!
I love the Plasma guy, he's my favivorite Priest model and you've done a sterling job with him, I think he fits in with Krieg quite nicely. I'd go over the top for him.

Happy (belated) Birthday!
The deathrider looks great, 5 of those are going to be quite the sight. A squadron commander = a sergeant/unit leader right?

Cheers nutty! Had a relaxing day, the kids were really well behaved, which gave me time to paint!
The Squadron Commander is a Krieg specific HQ choice! Basically he’s a junior officer on steed. He can issue orders and operates like any other independent character. I payed for him to have a hunting lance and demolition charge!
The last 4 will combine with the Deathrider Standard bearer I painted ages ago to form a Command Squad and the start of my next unit!

Belated Happy Birthday to you Jud. You know it's real love when you Mrs gets you Warhammer for your birthday.
Just the base alone makes him look like he's someone special, great job on the Squadron commander. Where did you get the flag from, I don't think that comes in the set?
On a side note: Very much enjoying season 2 of Knighfall.

Thanks MD!
Yeah, she’s a good’un!
The flag is from the Catachan Command Squad. I really liked it and as it was on the small side I thought it would go well on his Lance. I bought a crest to go on him but that didn’t look quite right so it’s gone back in the bitz box.
Is it back on? Really enjoyed season 1.
Right lads, I need a bit of advice, I want to add Commissar Yarrick and my Priests into my list.
Now, can I just add them into the same Battalion/Brigade as the Krieg stuff or will I have to take them in a separate Detachment? Or is there a better way to include them I’ve missed?

Post by nutty on Aug 3, 2019 12:56:36 GMT -5
You might need an extra detachment to do that; but I don't have the imperial armour book on hand to check. They are units you can take in any regular IG detachment, but Krieg might be an exception.
You could probably get a vanguard detachment with Yarrick as a commander and the priests as an elite choice. Or do the Unkriegly thing and take some psykers.. in which case you can also take a supreme command detachment.

Thanks for the advice.
Can’t include those foul mutants!
But the idea of a Supreme Command Detachment is appealing. I could run it as a Cadian Detachment with Yarrick, 2 Russ Commanders, one Executioner and one Battle Cannon (like Redsandroyals advised in my Russ thread) a Priest in Elite slot and rounded off with a Shadowsword! That’ll come in at around 1000pts.
Back fill with some Krieg flavour in a Battalion for 1000pts and I’ll have a good list to learn with while building the rest of the army! Thanks again!

That sounds like a good way to fill out a supreme command detachment

Those look great; the tarnished brass on the insignia (about halfway up the wall ) really draws in the eye.

Fantastic work on the Flag, its a great mix of clean and toned yet simple colors that accent well off the muted tones of the troopers.
That kind of style is exactly what I'd expect the Death Korps to have for a banner, nicer than most everything they have but not overly elaborate.
Killer basing too, the busted floor boards really sells the destruction/chaos of trenches mixed with remnants of order
