Looking really solid as always, the scheme is exceptionally gritty as one would expect and youve definitely nailed the green armor with all that practice with those nids haha. Ive always wanted to get my hands on that commander model.

the blue works really well as a spot colour that is neither too bright, nor too subtle!

Walk, yeah, the German Field Grey is my favourite colour (along with Rakarth Flesh!) so I try to use either of them as much as possible!
The Commander is a glorious sculpt, well chuffed with it.
Treads, glad you approve of the blue! I thought it would tie in with my boy’s Ultramarines. We can ally vs the xenos menace of the Tyranids!!
I think the Ultramarines will be 3rd Company (they’re the xenos hunters)

Coming along great! Are these recasts or the real deal and if they are the latter, have you thought about where to get them now that forgeworld seems to be discontinuing? Also, you thinking about doing the plasma glow or leave it as is? A dark purple glow would probably contrasts well enough without overpowering/ruining the grittiness you've achieved.

They are indeed the real thing. I’m going to cross that bridge when I get there. For now I’ll just buy from FW until they stop supporting them. I’m fully invested in the army.
I’m living in hope that GW will produce plastic Krieg models to fill the void! Failing that there’s always eBay or recasters.
As for the plasma glow, I’m happy representing it with coils not as exciting but I think it works with the muted palette I’ve chosen for Blue Company.
I’ve built my Medusa but that’ll have to wait while I build my daughter’s Eldar stuff first!

Funnily enough I do have 3! Such a good kit (if not a little fiddly!) Hopefully I’ll be starting work on another one soon. I do love those earthshaker carriages! I wonder if using the oop metal catachan mortar loaders would look right with one of those... I’m sure they’d be fine. The shells for it are deceptively small. |
