*cracks knuckles.. * its great being on top  Cheers for the 3 points.. between the conversion and the model it is bigger than a normal medium sized model ( will do a comparison shot when I get home tonight if i remember ) so calvery size works for me, same with conversion and quality.. its good but I know it could be better but then again its a normal Ogre.. so .. meh.. I have 5 more converted and ready to be painted up to the same level.. will try to do them up this week if I get a chance but work is going to be murder again  Nice tank TB.. and it would be cool to see you in the top 3 instead of bottom 1 Might have to call a showdown at 50 points just to get people to hussle here.. though at this rate that is not going to happen until mmm september? Yeah but we had like 3 showdowns in that one.. and it only lasted 2 months i think? with me popping in at the last minute with a mad dash for the finish.. am looking for some extra time on this one.. extend it and get more out of it as well.. make people work for it.. Besides 50 points.. thats a nice even number.. and easy to reach and hard at the same time.. thats 50 clanrats for Knight, lots of chaos for you, TB finishing off a platoon of guardsmen.. and whatever else everyone else has as well Back to work now.. silly computer related workfield.. giving me internet access and thinking I wont be forum trolling  Gris |

Ok Here was the scale picture.. had to photoshop/paint out the models in the background but you get the idea.. Overall scale from gnoblar to Land raider..  Then the Ogre scale.. regular on the left and my new one on the right.. I feel cavalry size model scoring is good for these guys since without the height boost of the base they're about the size of the giant orc (which I'd score as a cavalry base sized project too). are you wanting more points out of the ogre you just completed gris? let me know with anything you don't agree with in my scoring and I'll take an objective look at it (which I try to do anyway). I appreciate the size comparison for future knowledge too  basilisk is built and primed, gotta break for lunch then it's painting time! |

Well, i jsut got mt necrons a few days ago and have assembled and painted a few the pictures don't do much for em but here it goes, i have many conversions and i based them in a snow world, hope you like em. (sorry for some of the bad qualities) My Lord  A Destroyer  A Swarm  A Basic Necron  Ok so for these, they are all rising out of the snow covered earth, i do like these models very much and i feel they are some of the better conversions i have done Warrior 1  Warrior 2  Warrior 3  Warrior 4  Warrior 5  There ya have it, alot more to come too |

how's 9pts for the models themselves sound? that's giving you .5pts for the two that are basically half models and 1pt or the scarabs since they're not a lot of work (they may be based on a medium base but they're definately not as much work as a terminator to paint).
you'll have to ask for quality if you feel you deserve it because I can't tell from the pic quality if you should get some or not. quality is mainly given for highlights/lowlights. did you use multiple metallic paints or did you just use one? ask for quality if you feel you deserve it.
for conversions I'd ask that you estimate the time you spent on all the conversions and post that so I can judge how extensively the poses are converted (being unfamiliar with necrons and all).
so 9pts for now, but you've got a conversion bonus in the works when you get back to me on that.
and dangit, I'm in last place again!

1.55pts total awarded for assmbly.
.2 pts for the lord
.4 pts for the destroyer
.1 for the scarabs
between .05 and .15 for the ones crawling out of the snow
.2 for the regular necron

Nope TB.. calvery sized is good.. so long as they get the conversion bonus for the hard work I put into them then I am AOK for it.. just wanted to lay down the scales of my guys compared to the normal ones.. my tyrant was obviously larger than even a normal ogre so am glad he got the walker points.. just wanted to show that he was indeed the size of a walker as well ( bulked outq considerablly more but still you get the idea )..
Wheres the pics of the basilisk mate?? I have one sitting on my shelf needing to be done as well.. might have to give it a shot as well one day during this comp..
Also any bets on how many pages of text we will see here before this comp is finished? We're on page 16 already and not that many points sitting on the board..

had dungeons and dragons tonight...I was playing kinda a retarded gnome - he was very unwise (and thus really painful to roleplay cuz he made such bad decisions)...anyhow...ended up getting the whole party disintigrated tonight lol! I'm thinking I won't be playing characters with a lack of wisdom or intelligence in the future hehe. I wanted to try my hand at a not-so-smart/wise character for once and it was just painful. anyhow, the basilisk is about half done, I've got to get back to it in a minute here. at current the leaderboard is like this: grisnik in first knight in second .found! in third fishki in fourth me in last time to take down the fishki! |

I'm thinking of taking a 1pt quality bonus for the work I've put in on the last two vehicles. while they aren't super high quality per se, they are really sharp, and I've stayed within the lines and done nice solid colors with a good looking ink wash on them to really make them pop (the demolisher looks alot better than when the ink was was wet). if anyone objects to that, then post your objection, otherwise I'll leave the +1pt bonus to my score.
while we're at it, anyone feel like they've been jipped on quality or conversion awards? speak now or forever hold your peace (this is a scouts honor honesty required deal since we all know that pics are often difficult to work with).

touch up the stubber gunner, give him his final colors like flesh for the hands/face, do the bedroll..finish all that stuff (put some paint on the dozer blade supports that are black). finish those up and I'll give you .5pts for quality, sound good?

The conversions varied in time, some of the more simple ones (just cuting off limbs and glueing them back on in different postions) took about half an hour where other were a little more complicated one needing green stuff joints and such took up to and hour or 2. Ok kinda sad for models that I just painted but they still took a while to get the weathered look.. plenty of tin bitz, brass, then multiple layers of ink.. dark and gloomy.. just the way my night goblins like it And yeah those mold lines suck.. .found!, the wraith is a medium base so 1.2pts for you. I'm gonna give you a quality award for all your stuff of an extra 1.25pts to represent the effort put into drybrushing and the snow on the models - it looks good for conversions I'm gonna give you a total of 2 bonus points for all the necrons so far. sound fair? so 4.45 for you and you'll be fully caught up. grisnik, the cannons lets treat as cavalry models, they seem like about that much work. so 6 for base painting. +2 for quality +.3 for assembly total of 8.3 sound good? ***paintoff news update*** .found! has bumped knight out of second place! |

um ok then.. sounds fine to me except for the assembly points.. these models have been sitting in a box waiting to be painted for mmmm 8 years? I think I bought them in '98 or '99 so to get assembly points for them .. mm kinda feels weird.. choice is your cause your the judge.. and I wont say no to them but also wont say anything for not getting them either..
