Thanks Redcuffs, I'm glad you like it! You've got pretty much the same feeling i had in mind for the pose too, which is always awesome. I've got a couple more vets to do from this squad, then I'll probs end up getting started on your sent too, so keep an eye out

I melted a stick of RAM once that threatened to fry my board... Fun times... Expensive times...

Joseph looks really nice. I like the modeling of the guy. And as always love the boxgun.

Just finishing off a vet squad first Bit of a pathetic update, but i've picked up my brushes again! Here's Riggs, the latest Remnant. He's a little bit rubbish, but give me a break, it's been a month Riggs was a bit of an experiment in weathering dark armour - I can't seem to get it right. Any tips? Next up are more from Harker's vet squad, so if you fancy getting a roll caller done fast (by my standards, anyway ), snap up the last shotgunner! ;D

He looks beautiful. But, I think you should warn him about smoking around those things.

Is this the demo charge guy that blew of the arm of the vet at the top of this page? cause it might be a bad idea to field them in the same squad, what with infighting and that new revenge thing that's corrupting young minds these days. you'd hate the commissar to execute Stewart for killing the other guy (in self defense of course ) wouldn't you? Because he is pretty awesome. i know i would

Thanks so much guys, I really appreciate the comments and I really appreciate the nice things you said He looks beautiful. But, I think you should warn him about smoking around those things. From experience, he could probably stub that cigar out inside the fuel can and it wouldn't really reduce his life expectancy that much... Thanks! Works both ways though, cheers ;D Another vet up next, but maybe not for a few days. Cheers for the interest guys!

Just a really quick update 'til I can get my brushes out again after an exam on Tuesday. Obvs this is just a mockup, but I had to do something to keep myself sane tonight. He'll eventually be joining one of my 'long range' vet squads, and will end up with a camo cloak ;D C and C much appreciated, as always. Next thing to get painted after this will hopefully be the finishing touches to Tankshock's sentinel, which i started a while back. See you all on the other side! p.s. Credit to ReWolf for the awesome lasgun conversion ;D

Got the weapon painted up for Ulrich's sent, but I feel like it's missing something. Should I paint the raised sections a different colour? Apologies, the picture's not the best...

Props on the necron leg. That's cool. Also, give the whole sentinel a heavy wash of your other brown. That's my suggestion, take it as you would any other of my suggestions.

Nice stuff you've come up with here! Oh and that necron leg is cool too! I think the missile launcher's fine the way it is.

Try kill markings on the first raised section maybe? Or perhaps a "Stand Clear!" warning on the front? I don't know, just a thought.

Thanks for the feedback on the necron stuff! I think I'll probably weather the ML up a little more, with some exposed metal and a little more rust. I like the idea of the 'WARNING' type stencil (I considered it myself!), but I'm worried I won't make the text square enough to look good Might give it a bash though! Cheers for the input, and I'll probably have the roll caller I'm working on at the mo up in the next few days ;D

The neck on the trooper looks a little odd. but otherwise the posing is really good. The sentinal looks nice as well.

Some ideas for detailing Sentinels and tanks in general ;D
Some subtle weathering on the sentinel could go a long way,
oil leaks on the metal portions of the hydraulic cylinders and at the ends of lines* (anything hydraulic is a leak waiting for a inconvenient time to happen!) The OLD GW inks were great for this, because the ink has a perfect sheen to it.
Rust, paint fading, fluid leaks, worn away paint. nose art, rough terrain modifications, opening up the sentinels door? seat belts (I used strips of medical tape which represent aircraft and racing style seat belts quite well when painted.)
Needy any other ideas on sentinel detailing Maybe this needs its own thread.
Filth, especially around the legs, Use MIG weathering powders or powdered pastels. for dust, foundation paint+sand flock for wet, Add artist closs medium for really wt. GO easy, less is more.
paint chips, you can paint these on. Or really subtle is to use a pencil, rub the pencil along a worn away paint edge like around a door frame.
Extra armor, Particularly around the legs. Most of my sentinels I cut out extra armor from plastic card, however to change it up and update a existing sentinel to extra armor I used tank track links. These where finished with some extra care and then bolted (glued) onto strategic locations on the legs and the front of the cockpit combing.
Stowage, I figure that the sentinel is like the WW2 jeep with out the passenger carrying capacity! It makes sense to me that all sorts of "STUFF" would be hung on or around it by the squad it supports. ideas for "STUFF", extra flamer fuel tanks, a long range radio set. (master VOX) tents and tarps, ammo boxes, weapons (las carbine?) loot?
* Add hydraulic lines, would be a great detail. You can either stretch sprue or strip electrical lines and use a single strand of wire to represent the hydraulic lines.
Heat discolored metal paint effects around the exhaust, The covered this in white dwarf a little while ago. Look at the something like a torch or soldering iron. It is not a uniform metal is it? Paint the inner pipe a rust color and the outer stack replicate the heat discoloration with paint effects. Look at a stainless steel truck exhasut for another reference

Wow, thanks a lot for the tips jeep! I'll definitely try out a few of the things you suggested and get it online once I'm done. It's always fun experimenting with new stuff, but probs after my exams on friday ;D Hetlan and Helmian - Thanks guys! Teh trooper's neck will deffo be sorted out when I actually put him together, he's just a mock up at the moment. Loads of GS work to be done... In terms of the RRs, they're not actually in my 500pt list, which is what I'm working towards at the moment They are fun to paint though, so I might get someone up soon On another note, today I received 12 valhallans, 3 tallarns and a couple of escher gangers to butcher for heads, as well as 20 wood elf cloaks. Very exciting, and hopefully something new up over the weekend ;D

If you don't find the tube you could always repace it with a bit of plastic rod heh. Sorry to hear about the bases - not the first thing I'd would have said would break...
Looking really good. Requesting more pics of the one you painted...

The whole things was actually in about 12 pieces each, and the shards from the bases were painted the same colour. Doh! It was going to be either a massive jigsaw puzzle with missing pieces, or a 10 minute job with mud Do you like the rider? I'll see if I can get a few more pics up tomorrow
