Thanks for the praise! I'm working on getting em painted, but working on ACTUAL work too, so it's slow progress ;D I love those guardsmen in the link - any idea where that meltabomb-carrying arm is from?

Hey again! Couple more models to show, just wondering what everyone thinks ;D A vet with a demo charge (WIP) The bomb is supposed to look pretty improvised (I'm going to paint it like its held together with duct tape), and I really tried to model him like it weighs a tonne and he's mid swing, about to heave it at a mob of enemies or something. Does that come through? I'm pretty sure whatever he's shouting would be filtered by this board anyhoo... A vet sergeant of mine Vet sergeant of another, stealthier squad (wip again) He's supposed to have just spotted something, and is signalling for his squad to stop Another HW diorama Dunno if it's clear in the pics, but gas mask guy is giving the loader a (very frigging fiddly) thumbs up! ;D Do the prone poses look forced? Plasma gunner (Apologies for pic quality on this one, my camera hates plasma gunners for some insane reason) Modded this from a bolter, flamer and plasma pistol I am painting, just very very slowly, as every single model in my army has at least some conversion. Can't wait for the command box to come out! What do you guys think? And please be honest, I'll try to take it

These all look very nice. Prone poses have always proven quite difficult for me, but it seems you fared well enough. The only thing that could use improving in my opinion is the second vet sergeant (The kneeling one.) His left arm looks a bit awkward to me. I suppose it's still WIP, but I'd probably reposition that until I got a more natural pose with it.

That demo charge looks AWESOME! You've got some great progress since your last post. Keep it up, man!

The prone looks good, except for the helmet on the one guy's bum... As for the plasma pic, try a manual focus, or scooting the camera a bit after it auto focuses. Looks like it focused on his feet, so try auto focusing, and then tilting the camera up a touch, and pulling back about 3 mm to get the face and gun inside the depth of field. And I love the demo charge. Good stuff. Edit: Be sure to eliminate that flash/mold-line junk, just a reminder

Thanks for the feedback! I'm pretty proud of the demo charge - it's simple, but also one of my first GS type things other than cloaks, so I'm happy with how it turned out ;D The timer looking thing is actually cut off the side of a spare vox-caster! I will get round to skinning the flash before I paint up, but I know what you mean about the arm on the sergeant - I'll see if shifting it around a bit helps, otherwise I guess I'll have to go with another arm. That shotgun conversion is frigging hard to do though, so I don't really want to scrap the model

The GL trooper looks awesome. I'd love to see him with a head (speaking of which, whoever suggested a helmet with "BOOM" painted on it, I agree 100%). That demo charge is amazing too, I may just have to copy it. And nicely done on the kneeling Sergeant. All around good job sir.

Hate to be cynical, but the mortar loaders wouldnt be lying down, theyd be kneeling facing away.

Well, uh... they just came under fire? Yeah! And the other guy is giving a thumbs up to show that he's not hurt. That was totally my plan all along! Thanks for pointing it out though, I'll bear that in mind for my other weapons teams. Cheers for the compliments again, I'm really chuffed that people like them! I've got a few more things in the pipeline, and I've even painted a few, so will get them up soon. More ideas for slovenlyifying more troopers are, as always, welcome!

Oh, I can't remember if this has been suggested yet, but you could try giving some of the injuries or facial hair. And I like what you've done so far, keep it up

More guardsmen! First up, my latest paint job (based off one of the suggestions on the guardsmen slogans thread, go check it out and suggest some more! commissar.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=5901) and a version of Harkness with a head because MarkOfTruth wanted to see him (I'm making a GL trooper for another squad who's going to have the BOOM helmet) A mortar team WIP He'll have a printed map once i get round to painting them And a missile launcher team that was more an experiment with green stuff than anything else All my HW teams seem to have problems with infighting, massive incompetence and/or getting injured, so I thought I should represent it in the models ;D These are some wolves I got from Copperstone Castings (?) And with a guardsman for scale I was thinking of using them as hunting dogs, one for each squad, as its a heavy part of my fluff. Do you all think they look alright? I think they're scaled alright for a realistic dog style. I was also thinking of buying a very fine point white pen for writing on helmets and armour, and a black one for eye pupils. I'd really appreciate it if anyone could let me know if you need a specific kind for writing on paint / plastic, and where i'd find it. Thanks! Comments and criticism are, as always, much appreciated

Either drill your barrels or paint a black circle on them so thye look like they've a hole in them Apart from that, looking good.

Looking good Scarper! Harkness looks better with a head, I must say. And I like what you did with the bullseye on Ridley's back.

Thanks! I'll get round to drilling barrels eventually - just bought a modelling drill the other day ;D
Do you reckon I should come up with some special rules for the dogs? And do you think they fit the look of the other models? I was thinking of modelling a couple of guardsmen to be interacting with them, maybe GSing a collar or two...

GS ravioli for everyone! I like the arguing mortar team -- they look like they've seen too many hard times, and have gotten frustrated. I think it would be cool if you gave Ridley's helmet some serious damage.

BTW, where did you get the gas mask heads without helmets?

The gas mask heads are from Pig Iron (http://www.pig-iron-productions.com/order.htm). They are Kolony Rebel Heads, and are amazing at 20 for £3. They have fantastic service too, so check them out! Thanks for the compliments, and Requiem, I'll give it a go bashing up his helmet, though i still need to buy a few paints for rust colours. I don't suppose any of you lot know anything about those pens I mentioned?
