ReWolf - you are, of course, right. And yes, also, you have been saying that for as long as you've been on here. The next models I put up I can now guarantee are completely mould line free, but I'm also now short half a finger. Rather than logically concluding that i should probably take more care when using my super-sharp new hobby knife, I've decided to harbour a secret grudge against you forever. You have been warned Thanks for the comment on the base - I'm messing around with a new product I found called 'black lava', the next couple should be really interesting ;D And I would love to know more about highlighting - it is a process whose intriguing mysteries remain distant to me. @happyorange - Thank you so much! I'm working on making the eyes smaller on the next one, so fingers crossed ElegaicRequiem - You're right, and BurninatorReq is one of the 3 guys I'm working on atm. Did it in a bit of a random order, sorry bout that. On an unrelated note, it's really really frigging hard to sculpt GS goatees on 28mm faces... Not that that is relevant to the delay or anything of course... @nicholasakira - They are. I've been working on making them less crazy, but I'm not great at eyes

Scarper... I never asked that the goatee be sculpted onto the mini... in fact, I recall suggesting you paint it. I would never want to subject someone to trying to gs something so small. Whatever you want to do is fine. Just don't forget the crazy eyes! That's the most important accessory for someone wielding a heavy flamer.
Edit: Okay, I didn't say one way or the other about how to do it. Again, it's up to you. Don't frustrate yourself on my account. But if it does look cool...

@ WILLEM - Seriously? It's like 5 posts back. @nicholasakira - There is indeed more to come, I'm just a slow worker, and currently in the middle of job hunting AND moving flat, so there may be a bit of a delay. Will get on it as soon as i can though! @ ElegaicR - I'm really sorry, i didn't mean for that to come off as disgruntled or anything, I like messing round with GS! But I still might take up your suggestion and just use a few washes - seems like it might be a tad outside of my abilities I will definitely ensure crazy eyes, as they seem to be the only eyes I'm capable of painting at the moment anyway

DOUBLE POSTING AND HE DOESN'T EVEN CAREHey guys! Just a lil bit of a progress update on the roll call guys to show I'm not dead, though obviously they are very WIP I'm not gonna say who's who, but 10 points to anyone who can guess! If these guys are the ones you comissioned, and you don't like the way they are done or have some suggestions, let me know and I'll see what I can do. Let me know what you think!

Ahhahaha! Sweet. It could be the light, but I look like Will Smith with a goatee there... I'm a pretty pale-skinned guy. The eyes need to be crazier; those are very well done eyes, but they're definitely not the same kind of crazy as the sgt. Since they're so well done, I suggest a head swap.

Rather than logically concluding that i should probably take more care when using my super-sharp new hobby knife, I've decided to harbour a secret grudge against you forever. You have been warned And I would love to know more about highlighting - it is a process whose intriguing mysteries remain distant to me. In order to dwindle your olympian rage and quell your grudge, I present to you a guide on highlighting. It's taken me about 10 attempts to write this, and if you're reading this it means nothing has thwarted me this time. This is 'basics' only. I've not gone much beyond it myself, so I'm not be qualified to tell you any more than this. Okay, the first thing is obvious - find your highlighting 'colour'. The following table from "How to Paint Citadel Miniatures" might help. "How to Paint Citadel Miniatures", Rick Priestly, © Games WorkshopOnce you've found the colour you need, paint a line on the edges, like so. At first I thought you dragged the side of the brush along the edge, but this produced this (unsatisfactory) result; While what you need to do it actively paint the line on. Just be careful and consistent and you can get something more like this; That takes you to simple highlighting. If you want to take it further, you first paint a thicker line that is halfway between the main colour and the highlighting colour. Then you paint a thinner line over that along the actual edge in your highlighting colour. This is basically blending, and you can go as far into that as you like. This guy has used only 1 'intermediate' layer for both the green and the blue, and it looks awesome. So: - Find your highlighting colour
- practise
- ?
- profit!
Hope that helps, and please ask or say if anything's unclear.

Willem - Thanks! And I'm glad you finally noticed the model ElegaicRequiem - Hahaha, it's actually just the light - here's a pic of a lighter skinned you. I see what you mean about the eyes though. Damn my gradually improving skills! If i did a head swap, do you have a preference for which one I should use? MarkOfTruth - Thank you! I'm almost done with the ones I'm working on, so who knows who'll be in the next batch? ReWolf - Thanks so much for the guide! It looks pretty damn useful, but also really time consuming - my models are taking me like 2 hours each already, and they're not even that good I think I might save highlighting for my officers and stuff, rather than rank-and-file. I sent your package today, btw! Be excited. @happyorange - Dead on! 10 points for you. (and maybe a bump up the list too! ) Ignatius - Thanks so much! I was thinking about this though, and I realised that maybe I shouldn't have put the bandages on seeing as you didn't ask for them or anything? Would you like me to do a head swap? I don't mind, seeing as i'm probably switching out Req's one anyway... I'm almost done with those 3 now! Also, bonus unrelated shot: Here's what 2000 points of footslogger guard (minus a chimera and two sents) look like: Some of them are even painted!

loldogs. Also, yeah highlighting is time consuming at first, but as with all things, once you know what you're doing it takes a lot less time Try it once and see how it looks...

Alright, Rewolf, I'll give it a go on my next blank model. Thanks so much for the guide ;D Sorry metcalfedan, still working my way towards the Company Command, but will get on it soon. On that note though: I formally present to you guys, Fredrik Pax. This one was enrolled by RedsandRoyals ;D This one was supposed to be a face shot, but my camera skills aren't up to it Can anyone spot the highly subtle reference to Reds' display pic? C&C welcome and wanted, as always ;D

Thank you! And either you're talking about the trousers on the model, or I really need to close my curtains... Can you tell what the thing on his back is supposed to be? Freehand isn't really my forte
