Goliaths also provide extra models and variation for Catachan armies...
I really like the idea of a Van Sarr Guard army... it might cost quite a lot, but I think it would be well worth it in the end! Shame you can't give Guardsmen plasma cannons... but maybe you could get away with using them as plasma guns?
Or possibly make an alternative codex where you exchange lascannons for plasma cannons in some squads...
Dammit lebeau, you've filled my head with evil plans...

Hey what are you people doing in my thread... oh, right. Heh, thanks for the compliments, but there'll be no updates until the weather's nicer, and I can prime the new stuff.
I guess I could give a few on the WIPs, but... Hmm... I could also have some fun with my painted stuff - I came up with the idea for a narrative picture series last night. I'll continue to think on it, and keep painting some things that are already primed. If people want updates, then by the Emperor, updates they shall have!

I just realized that the DA icons with the winged sword fits my fluff for the 3rd, as they're part of the Martel's Blade task force. Martel being a saint, and all...
And I have a lot of DA upgrade sprues from the raven wings I bought... WIN!
Also, because Reds let me take a bunch of his bits, I've increased the plasma goodness in my IG by 333%! Time to kick some MEQ ass.

Nice work on the plasma gun conversion - has some extremely groovy potential to it which I'm sure will be recognised when it gets painted. The scope is also a touch of brilliance!
Also, nice use of the Tank turret handle on the autogun conversion. I always meant to convert my Guard army to having autoguns rather than shotguns, but my mind convinced me I needed to actually buy the autgun models from somewhere - your conversions are giving me far better (and cheaper) ideas...

Thanks, I wasn't sure about the handle after putting it on there.
Also, the wings are not in a good pose, but the others will be adapted so they look better. This pose is good for a diorama, though...

Flying rough riders?
Do it!
Give them spears!

Pegasus riders?
That's too fantasy for me. If I had flying mounts, they'd be giant ravens, and I did look for eagle riders in the LotR range, just to see if it could redeem its existence - but no. No raven rider conversions.

Not mounts, winged guardsmen...with spears!

Ah... well...
That's not a bad idea, either. I'd do it if I didn't already have 10 cold ones to use for RRs.

Something about the wings keeps making me think of paragliders...

That's good. They're my Icarus pattern grav chutes. They were going to be Angelus pattern, but the new BA stuff pre-empted me. Hmph.
Edit: Screw it. They're Angelus pattern. The angel reference fits my fluff. Just look at the name of the vets: Erelim.

That's the spirit! You came up with the idea first, and who's to say the BA didn't copy the name (theiving Mariney fools!)

Well, you won't find me complaining - I can't claim to have invented quite a few of the things on my Guard army... My theory is, if you like the look/sound of it, adapt it and use it.

I really like the drop troopers' packs - I've got a great image of them diving gracefully out of the back of a valkyrie, swooping elegantly through the sky with a few effortless rolls to avoid incoming gunfire, and landing slightly less fluidly boot-first in a traitor's face Great look though - never seen anything similar on a guardsman before, so should get you a few looks! ;D

That was pretty much my image as well I hope that the others will be a bit better. I have a bunch of spare voxes still... so making more after a bit of practice won't be an issue.

Just wondering... and hope this doesn't throw two much of a spanner in the works but, will they be able to "group UP" ok? As in combat I mean - would the wings get in the way (modelwise)?

The one that's pictured might, but I'm trying to make them removable anyway, so no worries there.

Your models show incredible imagination and ingenuity. I spent a good amount of time following you fluff and I think its really cool that you are staying true to it.
Any new pics?

Maybe tomorrow I'll post the first painted rough rider if I finish it. They shall be called Wyvern Riders, though. Probably just the mount, though. And perhaps another WIP of the valk? Right now it's just insignia red and white. Insignia red is a fancy name for what I think is fire engine red, so it looks like an emergency response vehicle. Which I suppose it is...
And perhaps if I can get a 'critical mass' of words for a dry regimental fluff, I'll post that, too. Just to give a setting, and some basic info about the people of Tellius.
