Let's add somethign for this army too for a change! Proper Catachan themed Al'rahem for my army. May I present you Captain Al Rackham: That thing he's holding is trying to present a map. Free commenting allowed as usual.

Could you take a whole army snap? I'll try to get one taken tomorrow. Now I'll just add this. I'll do the base same time with a couple other figures.

Good job weathering the black on his shotgun! I always seem to have trouble with black Really like how the bright wire colour contrasts with the metal too, fantastic job! Al Rackham looks great (especially his sword arm!), but I can't really make out the map so well. Could just be the photo though!

I'll make black by highlighting with astronomican and codex gray and add a wash of badab balck at the end. It smoothens the highlights a bit and makes the shadows a bit darker. Hopefully it's just the picture, that blurs the map. I's say it looks a bit better irl. Here's a picture of the whole army atm, that I promised somehtingyellow.

Very Nice army! I Especially like Al Rackham and Mabro!
On GW they said straken was a 2 part model can you give me an Idea where the 2 parts are. I have a feeling its the shot gun and the main body....

Love the paint jobs on these guys, I know you said you used charadon granite but I couldn't find the tutorial in the thread. It would be great to know how you shaded and highlighted these guys. They look great!

Thanks guys! On GW they said straken was a 2 part model can you give me an Idea where the 2 parts are. I have a feeling its the shot gun and the main body.... Yeah, those are the parts. The shotgun arm is glued to the torso just above the armband. Love the paint jobs on these guys, I know you said you used charadon granite but I couldn't find the tutorial in the thread. It would be great to know how you shaded and highlighted these guys. They look great! The method is really simple, you only need two paints and a devlan mud wash. First it's Charadon Granite basecoat, then it's washed with devlan mud, third just start building up layers from Charadon Granite mixing a little bit more Codex Grey to every layer until you you have the contrast you think looks nice.

These are the best Catachans I've ever seen! Normally I can't stand the muscled guys, but looking through this thread I kind of want some now. Just fantastic, all of it. My only question is I noticed some of your line troopers had steel pot helmets, I was just wondering if you go those somewhere or made them yourself?

I was making an American/desert themed army at some point years ago, and they were all going to have those kind of helmets. I think there's still a couple more lying somewhere.

*Peter Griffin voice* "HOLY CRAP!" This thread is pure awesome... I'm always glad to see other Catachan Guard armies, and yours is amazing, Sgt Walters! I love your conversions. I used the same head for my Marbo conversion (but sans the NVGs), and your Eradicator looks just like how I'm thinking of converting one up. Could you please tell me how you made it? Hellhammer from a Baneblade mated to the regular LRBT cannon perhaps? Anyway, excellent, excellent stuff and I'm looking forward to seeing more!

Oh hey, Sgt Walters, no need for you to post an Eradicator tutorial. I saved the picture of yours, zoomed in on it, and copied what you did and it turned out looking great. Thanks for the inspiration! ;D

Hi to all again! I haven't really been doing anything about miniatures for the last two years, but a couple of days ago I suddenly felt an irresistible urge to finish some projects I have had in my drawers. My last post was about some rough bikers I had started to convert. Well, now I have five of them finished and primed and ready for painting. Here are some pictures of what I managed to create after a long pause: HERE'S AN ALBUM OF THEM ALLI really really hope that this inspiration lasts for a long time this time. And I hope to be inspiration to some of you, that even after a long time it's worth getting back to business.
