Nice conversions, it'll be interesting to see how those heads turn out.

Man I simply love your stuff, never fail to impress and those vets are mighty characterful. I've got a ton of those tamiya kits, never even faintly occurred to me to use those as backpacks and I really needed some. Curious to see how those new heads turn out, they look a powerful ugly on the site, but perhaps your spectacular painting can fix that. Creative stuff all round, still can't stop staring at Marbo.

Thanks for the high praises guys! You know I really haven't even got to play this army yet! The converting and painting is much more entertaining, so it's really nice that people like them. Question: What would your budget be around for these conversions, youve been doing? I haven't really counted that, but I'd say it's not that much. I buy a great most of my stuff used and those sets that I can't get used, I order from England (and get about -40% discount compared to their listed Euro prices, because of the weak pound atm). The last big set I bought used was a whole Catachan battallion + Leman Russ + 2 sentinels + second command squad for like £60. If I had bought them from our local GW store thy would have cost 187€ which is £167 at the moment. Quite a bargain i'd say. And they were mostly nothing but primed with black. I don't have to assemble them, I don't have to undercoat them and I get a great discount! Win/Win situation. And those Tamiya and Italeri kits I use quite often on my conversions (e.g the rolls on the tanks) don't cost much. They're like £10 a kit and have more bits than you can use in one army.

Very nice mate, it great to see models that combine bits from different suppliers, makes them really distinctive.

More is coming! A sniper team: Playtechnically I doubt the usefulness of this squad, but it was real fun to make, and it fit the catachan fluff nicely.

They look great, I got inspired to make myself a squad like that too, just for the fun of the modeling =)

Sweet snipers mate, you're making me wish I'd gone with jungle camo now.

Holy cow these are so good.
This is how Catachans were meant to look.
Nicely done.

Nice, I think that the whole weapon conversion is nice, it brings out the character of the Catachan Guard.

More is coming! A sniper team: Playtechnically I doubt the usefulness of this squad, but it was real fun to make, and it fit the catachan fluff nicely. They look great. I used a SWS with snipers once vs orks and the guys with the las rifles killed more of them then the snipers Even so the cost for them is cheap so I think you should use them anyways. I almost always take Rats though 90 % of the time they earn the points back.

Thanks for the comments again! joemamasan: Might have to paint me a couple more of these, and use them as ratling proxies. They are much more useful in a game. But here's a sneak peak of the next project: I'll try to get this one and his friend (behind him in the pics) painted this weekend.

Looks like a winner. Is that an antenna over its left side?

Great model! I love the change you've made to the chainsaw - it's subtle, but really changes the way it looks. I hate the vanilla chainsaw the looks so flimsy - the cabling off the plasma gun and the proper housing you've built seem far more sturdy. Nice job!

Ffirst one vs Chaos They finished off a demon prince in the first round, in the second round they poped a couple Khorns and in the third round they dropped a summon demon with 3 rends and 2 other wounds. They didn't don as well in the second game I played but several templars would not be returning home thanks to them BTW I liked the spotters you made upso much I crafted some my sniper team own

Thanks again for your interest in this topic! ;D Looks like a winner. Is that an antenna over its left side? Yes, that is an antenna. I figured that, if they are scouts they have to some some proper ways to communicate with the HQ from far beyond the enemy lines. The Sentinel's own antennas were sio small and didn't fit the scout version so well that I decided to make one of my own design. It's bent the same style that infantry carries their march antennas these days. Great model! I love the change you've made to the chainsaw - it's subtle, but really changes the way it looks. I hate the vanilla chainsaw the looks so flimsy - the cabling off the plasma gun and the proper housing you've built seem far more sturdy. Nice job! It was inspired by the part on the codex that says that the sentinels are often modified to fit the drivers own fighting style. I also got some extra room uder the cockpit to add some extra batteries or something for the communication system it's carrying. BTW I liked the spotters you made upso much I crafted some my sniper team own Remember to post pics!

Little preview of what's to come (someday). Her face is a bit messy, but that was the best I could do. And I still have to figure out a name for her.

Is that freehand?! Wow, that's impressive. What would you have changed about the face? I can't see any faults with it...
