Plus, it said 'what race do you want.' I want a group of baddies to fight. Not a list where GW can use as an excuse to make light vehicles troops, and charge ~$60 for a troops choice. Bleh...

I had the idea for a Predator list a couple of years ago, though it came out very close to Space wolves with infiltration, deep strike and snares and traps a la Catachan codex style. I wouldn't mind if something Predator-related came out

Some post-exterminated backwater hunter aliens aren't much of a threat though, would be fun with a race that's actually going to make an impact on the universe. Preferably in a more rational way than the Necrons did.

Amen to that.
It's just too bad that GW pick Fantasy to give a new race. I suppose they the need the Chaos Dwarves, then. Ah well.
However, if I was making the choice, I would go Traitors and Mutants in a heartbeat. It would be like the Imperial Guard of Chaos. Maybe something along the lines of "The Chaos Daemons and Imperial Guard codices had a baby." I don't know. I'm sure the old Lost and the Damned list would be good to go off of.

Traitors. Did it for the fluff, if nothing else. another alian race posabley or maby we have enough alians how about a predtor somthing even stronger than a marean and with multapel wounds but comes in 5 man squads max and has like a 3+ invol save and an asalt canon and is like tufnis 5 I strongly dislike your posts. Just thought I'd say. It's called "spell check" for a reason. I hope you're not over 12 years old. Besides my personal opinion on the subject, GW did have a race that resembled the xenos scum found in the Predator movies. However, there was only one model released for them (in the Inquisitor range), and that was a nasty customer named "Krashrak". Basically followed all your rules, except that he never used guns and had an addiction to a certain chemical substance (chlorinetone) that helped him be sneaky. His rules, as far as I know, are unofficial or were released in a supplement. The idea was that he was the only one left in his race, due to the fact that his planet was overrun by ‘nids and his people were slaughtered due to the fact that they only used close combat weapons.

Preferably in a more rational way than the Necrons did. Eldar are kinda post-exterminated... Oooo! I vote protoss for new 40K race... We can build pylons! Sweet! Willem is catching a lot more flak for his spelling as of late... I remember a post he made that had almost no misspelled words... He seems to be on a cycle.

He has an issue about not remembering how things are spelled. I can't remember what the syndrome was called, but don't be mean to him. Think of it as a gibberish, southern Walesian accent. It helps. Eldar are kind of silly in my opinion, we don't need anything else like them. With that I mean obscure alien races without any real power.

I hope none of the above until all armies have been updated. Preferably pushing Marine variant armies into PDF files / white dwarf articles for time's sake (like the recent Blood Angels codex).

I really don't think it's a good idea to convert something from WHFB, that's what they did 15 years ago. But some sort of reptilian race would be nice, inspired by, but not copied from, Lizardmen.

Yes. GW is now avoiding this like it's the plague. They have been trying to separate the two games, and for a new race, will likely go for something unique, not a sci-fi version of one of the fantasy armies.

Hmm... now that you say that, you never really see too many reverse cross-overs.
Dark Age Tau anyone?

@ Melissia
With the rate GW is working like now it will be at least 2-5 years for anything truly new to come out if they were to update all the existing codices. From their corporate perspective it's worth updating products that make money for them and incorporate new ones from time to time. Products that yield little and have small audience won't see too much attention anytime soon. Pushing variant SMurf armies in pdf/White Dwarf articles would be a dream come true but it's as probable to occur as Stormtroopers getting S4 weapons...
@ Makarova
Predators, as depicted in film and fiction, are highly technologically advanced; Their stealth capabilities are unparalleled and the maneuverability of their craft is right next to the Eldar. No need to mention the efficiency of their technology in any form of combat.
I'll agree that they would need to give their background significant details and goals of their race as in fiction they only hunt various critters, big and small, which is rather dull and uninteresting.
Dark age Tau? Yikes! They would need Dark Age pulse rifles and hammerheads to survive...
Actually, I hope you will forgive me when I say I wouldn't like to see Lizardmen in space; it's one of the oldest cliches around science fiction and I personally find it unappealing.
Fantasy doesn't really need a new race, especially a non-human one... If I wanted to see a new race it would be Cathayans: An oriental style army with Samurai style heroes and warriors, ninjas, sword techniques oriental magic and so on. They even have their own monsters to go along, Daemons(Oni), oriental dragons and so on... I'm rather surprised GW never picked them up.

No need to mention the efficiency of their technology in any form of combat. I never questioned their efficiency, just that a small population of angry aliens hunting Tyranids would make a very small impact on the 40K universe. It's still a really interesting race though! But if they make anything like it, they should make it a competent threat. Not a second Tyranid destroy-everything-the-end-is-here threat mind you, but just something of a proper threat.
