I think they need to take the immune to instant death when in Synapse. Especially for those monsterous creatures. There is no need for it at their current toughness and wounds. It ends up just being overkill. I do think they should get a reduction of wounds (esp the Fexes) and given Feel no Pain in its stead.

Melissia: That was what I was talking about. Those are going to be Inquisitorial Dexes for the foreseeable future, unfortunately. ElegaicRequiem: I hear ya. My IG Army is almost all old Metal Models, and I just about put my shoulder out every time I go to pick up my Case. One of the reasons I end up playing my Nids more often. ssgtdude (M.I.A): The Immunity to Instant Death is mostly needed by the MCs to ward off Force Weapons. Otherwise a decent Librarian or Chaos Sorcerer can cut through a Fex a Turn. The Warriors are the ones who really need it. I remember how much they sucked under the previous Dex, when they didn't have it. They went down faster than a Cheerleader at a Frat Party. On the original topic, a couple of things I forgot in my first post: - A Template Weapon of some sort, an Acid Spray or something. Digging a big Mob of Orks out of Cover is a pretty tall order as it stands. - Something with the Poisoned Weapon Characteristic. I don't think they need it for Game Balance reasons, but it seems like it would be appropriate for the Nids to have something Poisoned.

I remember how much they sucked under the previous Dex, when they didn't have it. They went down faster than a Cheerleader at a Frat Party. I've always been of the mind that there are some things that just shouldn't live and if you fix the Nids then there is no need to have a weapon that just kills out right like that. Balance of the game is an evolving thing. Force weapons at one point didn't cause instant death so that point is moot anyhow as they used to fall to them in 4th ed. In the game there is no unit that should be able to just power through an entire army with nothing that can touch it. Nid already get blast weapons, but I can see your point. A spore attack would be nice if it was, again, balanced. Nid already get better than poison. They have living ammuntion and are able to re-roll wounds. Can't tell you how many times I have gone up against these bugs and lost attacks due to some stupid upgrade or another, or have my leadership lowered, or they get to re-roll uber amounts of dice. The dex does need fixed to bring things more into the balance of 5th ed. Now mind you currently I usually tie up the Godzilla lists so it isn't a rant that they are too powerful. I just believe there is something that needs to be a bit more balanced for them.

They are not an inquisitorial codex to me. THe Inquisition doesn't even exist in the codices as far as I'm concerned, they're crap units with almost no fluff in the codex about them with often questionbale outdated rules at that.

Melissia: The Grey Knights have always been part of the Ordo Malleus. What bugs me about them is that they gave them Power Armour. According to the original fluff, the entire Chapter had Terminator Suits. As for the rest, I'm not saying what should be, I'm just saying what GW is going to do. Jervis wants to do a combined Inq Dex, so that's what we're going to get. I actually think they should go for what was being considered towards the end of 2nd Ed, and do a Codex: Imperial Allies. There are a ton of great Units and portions of the Imperium that don't have enough depth to stand as an Army on their own, but would be great as add-ins to others. I was thinking more of a CC Attack for the Poison stuff. Something like: Poison Spines: The Creature's CC Attacks count as Poisoned Attacks. Costs +5 Points if combined with Rending Claws. you'd be trading off the extra Attack from a pair of ScyTals, so it should be reasonably balanced. For the Acid Spray, I don't know about Points Costs, but I was thinking more or less: S: Creature -1 (Max 6) AP:5 Range: Template Available as one of the "Special" Weapon options for Warriors, and for Tyrants and Fexen.

I was under the impression they lost most of the original suits during campaigns, like when they had an entire company in them roll against Angron on Armageddon, but I could be wrong. Reds

Could be. None of the fluff that I've got on hand mentions that, but there's a lot of fluff that I don't have to hand

Maybe I'm just remembering something a friend told me once, but it does make sense, since Termie Armour is supposed to be rare, and once a Daemon punches the front of your helmet out the back of your head, it's not like the armour will be salvageable... Still, 100 Grey Knights in Termie armour would be almost as awesome as Yarrick. Almost. Reds

I recall a debate on the BnC, where it was argued that basicly, Terminator suits COULD theoretically be manufactured, as they are basicly weaponized versions of the suits used by the Adeptus Mechanicus in maintaining plasma generators, reactors, etc.

I can't actually recall seeing a source that says that Terminator Armour can no longer be manufactured. Most of the fluff I've got says that they are incredibly rare, and often very old, but seems to indicate that they are still being made, if only very, very slowly.

Rare is my understanding as well, either because it's difficult to make, takes forever, or they can't remember how to make it except in a few places (like Plasma). Still, they have to keep getting suits somehow, since the Ultramarines still have some after their 1st Coy got wiped out.

Probably due to a combination of all the above, and the materials themselves being rare (IE, the materials needed to weaponize the suit properly or whatever-- GW isn't exactly consistent).

I personally dislike his drawings of the Adepta Sorortias. He makes their power armor look like a friggin' leather bodysuit and corset with shoulderpads...

He does seem to have some sort of odd leather fetish...
most artists are weirdos.
I like the pastely faded water colors and the frantic nature of his lines...
I think he is my favorite chaos artist.
His SoBs look a little strange...what with the corsets and mega long spiked heels...meh...still, it ain't that bad.

Yeah he does. And yes, they are VERY bad. By far the worst Adepta Sororitas art I've seen outside of porn (and even some of that's better...). Click the thumbs for bigger images. First one is a pretty good piece I think... second one is fanart, but still gives the impression of them actually being armored. Third one... is Blanche. Yeah. That's not Adepta Sororitas. That's an ugly old hag in skintight leather and a fancy corset. It's not possible for her to be wearing power armor unless she's think as a friggin' toothpick.
