Lol - the Superheavies are groovy in general... just wait till I manage to get the third finished ... ah a company of Baneblades... yum yum! Right... the squad numbers... always ignore the COMPANY COMMAND squad - that will have the company number written in gold (Roman Numerals look best for this) So, starting with the 1st company of the 1st regiment. The 1st platoon command would be numbered 001. The 1st infantry squad would be 002, the 2nd would 003 and so on. The hard part comes when you consider that this is the 16th company - so you have to work out how many normal Infantry Squads and Platoon Commands would be in the other 15 companies. In my case (the 16th company of the 1st regiment) would start with the first Platoon Command being number 541. Basically it's the five hundred and forty first squad in the 1st regiment. It's not really that hard to work out per se, it's just getting your maths right . A couple of things to take into account though, My regiment doesn't use heavy weapon squads (so they would't be assigned a number) and conscripts would receive a number once they became actual infantry squads (they so also don't receive a number). The other thing to consider is that a company would be assigned a full complement of numbers as if it were made up entirely of platoons. Though some contain Veterans in place of a platoon. In this case, the numbers for the missing platoon(s) would still need to be taken into account, but the Veterans receive a different numbering system (company number and a letter ie XVI A). Hope that helps! There are however far easier ways to number your squads... I'm just... odd... ;D

Confession time - I got a little distracted recently, and so my Baneblade is still awaiting it's undercoat ... But on a positive note, the distraction was quite a success! I couldn't resist getting myself a couple of bastion kits, so off I trundled to HQ with my wife. Trouble was, when I arrived, one of the staff mentioned they only had one box of the "Imperial Stronghold" kit left... So, a simple trip out to HQ for a couple of bastion kits ended up in £73 spent and me leaving with the "Imperial Stronghold" kit AND an extra Bastion... (Strange thing is, it was my wife's idea... ) So behold, my indomitable fortress - "Sanctuary VI": Painting shall commence shortly (honest )... along with the Baneblade...

It's been a long time since I last updated this thread, but I have been busy... honestly Here's the completed third platoon (which is actually the second platoon of the company... hope that makes sense ) Sorry the pic quality isn't fantastic, but the focus goes a bit off when picturing them all together... I may get round to doing some close ups of individual squads or a few men from each squad at a later date... Just for those who are interested in such things, the numbering for these squads are: Platoon command - 547 1st Infantry Squad - 548 2nd Infantry Squad - 549 In addition to this platoon, I've also managed to get the Fortress undercoated, model and start detailing a hill for it to stand on, and also got the third Baneblade (Don Quixote's Baneblade ) almost finished - I'll try and finish the Baneblade later (time permitting). Enjoy, and C&C welcome.

Well, finally managed to get a bit of time spare to finish off the third Baneblade - so here it is! In the turret we have Don Quixote (with his rusty armour and lance, and his "shaving bowl" helmet ) and his beautiful Dulcinea. In the tank hull manning the demolisher cannon is Don Quixote's loyal surf - Sancho Panza. And for completion, here's the completed company of Baneblades (Joy ) and now I can rest... no... wait... got that fortress to do *sigh*

Somehow, I've not posted in here, although I feel like I've seen some of the pictures before. I feel a bit disoriented, as I definitely would have commented...
Anyway - love the personalization on the tanks! And I can't wait to see that fortress painted...

Dude, those baneblades blew my mind man. I was sitting there looking at the first tank wondering why everyone was yelling at each other, but then I saw the cards. Although, letting a bunch of men angry about loosing their boxers in a game of strip poker pilot a super heavy isn't such a smart idea.

Wasn't sure if I was going to pop the next pic into this thread or make a new thread, but I figured that, being as this guy is supposed to be the leader of the army in the fluff - it's his personal strike force - I'd compromise and do a quick group shot of him then in a new thread, do detailed individual pics of him and others like him... Hope you enjoy... I present, Inquisitor Lord Gabriel Lupus of the Ordo Hereticus: from left to right: Bounty Hunter Orson Cutter (warrior with shotgun) Guardsman Bryce Peeps (acolyte with carapace and power sword) Autosavant Beschop Inquisitor Gabriel Lupus Psyber Dragonet "Klix" (familiar) Hive Ganger Izabel Lacroi (medic) Hive Ganger Cope Fyre (warrior with shotgun) Hive Ganger Kes Thlak (warrior with pistol and knife)

Now that's a sweet retinue. Very personal and well done. What model do you use for the Inquisitor? I'm sure I recognise it from somewhere.

It's a conversion on the normal Witch Hunter Inquisitor model (not the Gideon Lorr special character).
I've decided to be make a thread of this Inquisitor (and retinue) and other Inquisitors I've got/made for other people, which will have better, closer up, individual pictures of the models (and possibly descriptions on how they were made) - so either keep an eye out for it in the next few days, or I'll PM any interested parties (if they let me know).

ahem, painting, 3 baneblades, and conversions aside, anybody who names a tank Pac-man deserves serious kudos
Witch hunter on zombie (lulz) is definitely a nice conversion, adds depth to a character. And believe me, thats hard when that characters only half an inch tall. ;D
EDIT: ElegaicRequiem is officially 10 posts away from 5000 at time of this posting.

@req - it's a shotgun/stake crossbow conversion... I will honestly get round to doing an in depth look at my Inquisitors soon... all will be explained there (hopefully!)
@lord Solar - thanks very much! I like to inject a little character into my characters (sounds wierd to say that...)... that and background really make your models come to life I think, but it's nice to have the confirmation from others.

As promised to Makarova and Req, I've now gotten round to uploading detailed, individual pictures of my Inquisitor and his retinue. It's in the Picture Post forum, or, for convenience, just click the link in my signature.
Back to this thread, work is progressing on the fortress... slowly... it seems to have gotten bigger now I'm painting it... and I have become a little distracted doing a reasonably simple paint scheme on my Space Hulk Genestealers... Heresy I know...

It's in the pipeline... honestly ... But I won't be using the actual Workshop Punisher model... oh no ... that would be too easy... (plus my plans leave it open for use as an exterminator ;D)

If you want an interesting Punisher, take a look at the Empire Hellblaster Volleygun for the gun... It looks like it would fit with your styling, however you may have to give it a larger KV-2 or Ragnarok style turret. Looking good!

tempting... very tempting... If I ever get round to doing the Renaisance(sp) Guard, I may have to employ that idea... For now however... I have plans (but the Nids have taken over my painting time currently... yes, heresy - I know...)
