More Lemans!!!!!!!!!! Eradicators would suit your fluff with big plasma cannons as a main weapon! a whole squadron or just 1 would be sick

I'm planning to expand the Leman Russes into a full company which will include a third Exterminator/Decimator, 3 Battle Tanks and the command tank will be the Executioner... got to finish the guardsmen and fortress first though...

good point! considering the excutioner is a rare techonological relic! looking forward to it. If you got that much armour maybe add a techpriest or a Magi techpriest who is responsible for the baneblade company. I am looking forward to seeing the fortress!

Well I have the White Dwarf in Space model... might use that (he's in Gabriel Lupus's fluff...), but then I might also spalsh out and get the Titan Techpriest from Forgeworld (it's a sexy model... wonder if I could make it into a Techpriestess...) Meanwhile, work on the Fortress is progressing... but slowly... but I did manage to get one of it's two quad guns painted: And in the spirit of getting a full 2000pts of painted infantry, here's the first half of third Squad (yellow squad) from third platoon (blue platoon) - Squad number 556 from the first regiment for those who were interested/wondered about the number on the shoulder pad:

Love the action shots of the sentinels walking through the undergrowth. You sir have a nice collection of tanks.....3 Baneblades *gulp*. The armoured coloumn looks really good, wish I had money to invest in some tanks. Just starting with the infantry for me. Love the army shot mate, a very nice collection of infantry and tanks.
A good looking quad gun you have there Gabriel Lupus, can't wait to see the rest completed product in its entirety. Keep the updates coming.

Impressive as always. It's amazing how you manage to put the dedication down to paint such a large army, and still keep the high level of skill on them. Can't wait to fight against these again!

ah shucks Makarova - you'll have me blushing Glad you enjoyed the Baneblades Telliphas! Keeping up with my rough idea of getting the last few squads done in rapid succession, here's the second half of Blue Platoons, Yellow Squad: And the whole squad together: One down, 2 to go... then I'll allow myself to paint the 3rd vet squad...

An interesting take on the heavy bolter setup. I like that alot Gabriel Lupus, I may have to steal that for my troopers, if you don't mind?
You seem to be banging these troopers out at a good pace. Two days to paint up 5 more troopers colour me impressed. It takes me that long to find the time to just paint 1 standard trooper.
Keep up the good work.

Feel free to steal any of my ideas - GW do One of the reasons the heavy bolters ended up that way was so I could make the most use out of a single box of three heavy weapons teams (being as you get three of each type of heavy weapon). You seem to be banging these troopers out at a good pace. Two days to paint up 5 more troopers colour me impressed. It takes me that long to find the time to just paint 1 standard trooper. Ha! That's quite slow for me really - I built, converted and painted a banblade in two days (well, two evenings). You should check out my gaming board project (link in my sig) if you want to see some fast work Quick edit update: I managed to get hold of a decent banner, so I've redesigned and painted the Comapany Standard for the army - the first image is the old one and the second two are the new one: I think it's an improvement...

Last day of school for the childerbeasts today, so I thought I'd celebrate by painting another half a squad. These guys are from Green Platoon (my second platoon) and are again the third squad (yellow squad) - squad number 550: second half will hopefully meet the paintbrush in the next couple of days, but tomorrow I'm off to GW Nottingham to play in the spearhead game they're running. Apparently (according to their instore rules) a Spearhead formation that says it is made up of three tank units, can be made up from three superheavy tanks... So I'm taking a tank hunter spearhead (+1 to armour penetration rolls) consisting of three Baneblades ... he he he...

Nice work! I was always wondering if I put different number on their shoulder pads does it make any difference? I.e. don't want to put a number who is unique to steel legion or catachan troops.

Mate, it has been a while since i've looked at these, and i've got to say that they are simply amazing. I'm going to be keeping a closer eye on this thread from now on. I especially like the Super Heavy conversion.Brilliant work. Are you going to be getting anymore Super Heavy Tanks??

Bobulus: The numbers (for my regiment) are worked out in a... bit of an odd way. Basically, start from the first company of the regiment. The first PCS would be squad number "001", and infantry squads within it would be 002, 003, 004, 005, 006. 2nd PCS would continue this with 007 and leads infantry squads 008, 009, 010, 011, 012. Keep following this all the way through the squads and companies till you get to the company you want to do. Just remember to ignore veteran squads, penal squads, CCS, SWS, HWS and conscripts - CCS have the company number they lead, veterans have the company number and a letter ("A" for the first one for example), conscripts and penal squads have no numbers, and I don't use SWS/HWS. For mine, the 16th company, it took a lot of working out, but the first platoon command squad was "541". This is just the way I thought was groovy - there are lots of ways you can do it, or just invent your own StillANoob: glad you're liking it! I will be updating quite quickly over the next few days or weeks to get the infantry finished (to take me up to 2000pts infantry). One squad to look out for is the upcoming "kill team" veteran squad... There are plans to add at least two more Super Heavy vehicles (note "vehicles" not "tanks" ) but that will be much later this year... After that, well, it just depends where my (twisted) mind takes me... Hopefully you and others will continue to enjoy the fruits of my labour, and as long as people are still interested, I'll keep adding stuff

Right, Sadly I've been slowed down a little recently (the doc's have changed my medication - again - and it's left me a bit out of sorts... that and I've really struggled with the usual random pains in my leg over the last few days, reducing me to quick random posts ), but last night I managed to get some painting in! As a result, here's the second half of Green Platoons Yellow Squad - Squad number 550: and the full squad together: Now I just have a single infantry squad left (red platoons yellow squad - Squad 544) before I can bring on the next lot of veterans... And I think they'll be well received I may even do a 'new' full army picture then... Enjoy!

Quick random update - This is the Platoon leader of my last platoon (Yellow Platoon) Lieutenant-Commissar Cornelius Reikovich: The Platoon he leads are not Zion Rifles! They are a Platoon of Guardsmen Lupus met while fighting on a planet called Cho - due to some munitorum mix up, they got posted there and seperated from their parent company and regiment. Despite numerous requests by the previous Lieutenant of the Platoon to get redirected, they appear to have been abandoned. When the Planet Cho went to war, the Lieutenant (a vicious uncaring man) showed his colours as nothing more than a loud mouthed bullying coward. Reikovich executed him for his lack of dedication to the Emperor and has been in command of the Platoon ever since - even so far as to be awarded the Lieutenant rank. More pictures of this additional platoon will be coming shortly...

Thanks for the comments guys, and feel free to steal anything marbo (and anyone else for that matter ) Progress is being made on the Platoon Command squad - I've (for some inexplicable reason) decided to paint them up to "character" standard (like the commissar) rather than my usual "rank and file" standard. So they're taking longer to do. Well, that reason and the fact that me and the kids are at school, so school runs are a little crazy at the moment - as well as my usual "issues" with my leg... Should be seeing the rest of the command squad by next week at the latest though.

Loving you commissar Gabe - there's some fantastic detail work in there, especially on his armour! The extra time you've put in really shows I like the little fluff blurb too; It's great when a model becomes a character. Can't wait to see your new command squad!
