AHA! Fear not for the mini Lupus - Work has (finally) progressed on "my" Exterminator/Punisher! Now, the original plans for the following tank are that it was an apocalypse unit of my own devising - "hey" I thought to myself "If Marines are constantly stealing our groovy Guard stuff, why shouldn't I try that in reverse?... I'll steal the Baal predator plans and 'improve' them..." and so, the Leman Russ Decimator was born... Now, please keep in mind that I made this version about 1-2 months PRIOR to the new Guard codex - so I had no idea about the look of the punisher or what it would be... Behold! Heavy bolters in the Hull and Sponsons, and a twin linked assault cannon in the turret - see... a Baal predator with improved armour and more guns . It was to be at 170 points (equal to an exterminator with the same auxillary weapons). In normal games, I figure I'll just use it as the exterminator though. Thoughts, critique, comments - all welcome Enjoy!

The assault cannons are mounted on a new demolisher kit though..... I smell heresy It looks very cool, and pretty mean too. I made one before the kit came out, altough I did just go a bit mad with some plastic rod. This looks a bit more professional. How are you going to paint it?

Ah... yeah... wasn't very clear there I came up with the Decimator a while ago - but I've only just (as in last weekend) gotten round to actually making it. It's a Demolisher kit because Workshop no longer stock the Battle Tank (but that's being covered in the "new Guard/Eldar vehicles" thread in the rumour section...). I originally had plans to use the metal bits from the Baal predator as it would have fitted really nicely, but being as the "bits ordering" from Mail Order no onger exists, I've had to search for a viable replacement - which came in the form of the Tornado assault cannons (phew ) As for paint, it'll be done in the colours of the Zion Rifles - so basically along the lines of the Demolishers earlier in this thread... if the rain stops (so I can undercoat it) I'll should have it done... tomorrow?

I would personally re-name it as 'Decimator', while sounding cool, really is dooming it to less than stellar performance since Decimate originates from the times of the Roman Empire and meant 1 in 10 to be killed. I think you are hoping for better than 1 in 10 targets to die. Anyways, it is a solid conversion, I would tend towards using it an an Exterminator.

It does indeed mean "to kill one in ten"... but I like to imagine that in the harsh universe of 40k, it's meaning has been corrupted also mean "allow one in ten to live" I will be using it as an Exterminator mostly - just seems to fit better (even the stats of the Exterminator autocannon to Assault Cannon are reasonably close...) I love it. Will look even better painted. Well, the rain stopped, so I jumped on the opportunity to spray the tank, thinking I could then probably paint it tomorrow... but then I got too excited, so I painted it tonight I think it does indeed look better - groovy even!... judge for yourselves - I present, Caine: Enjoy!

That's pretty much what Mr. Cruddace said when he saw the datasheet Thanks for the positive responses people! Hopefully, next tuesday I should be getting another demolisher kit - so I'll have the second one done by... what... next thursday? In the meantime... I have plans for a Sentinel...

Right, I apologise for not getting the second Decimator uploaded on Wednesday like I said I would, but we've had a few random impromptu visits from friends etc, so it's been a bit crazy here lately. But, the second one is complete, so here's "Abel": "Caine" and "Abel" together: As for the whole "pictures of the whole army together"... As soon as I get chance to get down to the local gaming store, I'll get the pics done. P.S. sorry for the double post

hmmm abel reminds me of my streetfighter 4 character which i main. He even has somewhat the same colours! I like your tanks only, i would splash a LITTLE bit more mud above the normal mud level, now it looks like it didnt hit any waterpools with speed. (which ofcourse could be) but a little dirt higher up might look more,... dirty and dynamic? (im a total noob at painting tanks, so i hope this does make sense and maybe could even help you in some way ) keep up the goodwork, I approve!

Right, well those of you who may have stumbled on my gaming board project may have already seen this picture, but I think this thread deserved it's own 'painted so far' picture. So behold, Gabriel Lupus' Ghostmakers - formerely the 16th Company, 1st Regiment of the Zion Rifles: Now to paint the rest...
