Here's a teaser in the GW online newsletter of what's in store for 2010. What is that? One thing's for sure: it sure as hell isn't Dark Eldar.

Plastic stormies would have been nicer to see, if less scary than this photo. Haven't the orks gotten enough things?

Bah.
We want plastic Hellions! I'd kidnap Jervis Johnson's children if the businessmen that run GW hadn't already done it to make him cover up their smeg-ups in his propaganda articles.

Mm... not DE, not AS, not more IG... not even plastic thunderfire cannons. Ork stuff.
*Starts reaching for the spiny noisemaker, but it's too much effort. Dies of apathy.*

I'm seriously amazed they haven't said anything about the Dark Eldar yet. I thought they were going to be done after IG. I mean, it's been an embarrassment for them for about 5 years now.

Rumor has it that GW doesn't want to release new DE until the "time is right" because the DE would eat up the whole release schedule. The theory is that the DE wouldn't sell very well because few people play them now. I think few people play DE because their miniatures range is so foolish looking. Going to their miniatures gallery is like going back in time. Some of them just look silly. Every single one of their elites units has at least one model with a bare belly. They look like leather-fetish porn stars.

At this point I have emassed enough DE that I'm actually a bit nervous about what sort of changes I'll be forced to make with my army list...(Not too worried ...just anxious.)
Plus I think I'm the only person on the planet who still thinks they look cool...granted in a goofy mighty morphin' power rangers kind of way...
I've decided I can wait a bit longer.

Hey, add me to that group as well. They were actually my very first 40K team. Granted, the wyches look silly, but the Warriors are some of my favourite models in the whole game. I really hope they keep them.

The Dark Eldar warriors were one of the first customizable infantry sets I remember and very good for their time. I just don't like some of the variations of the heads they have, like the one with the flowy hair.
But of the whole Dark Eldar range, the only ones I actually like are the incubi.

Incubi are badass. Some of the wyches aren't completely hideous...

Incubi are gorgeous. The other metal models aren't fantastic, but most of them look good enough. I quite like the Scourges, Mandrakes and Hellions.

The hellions and scourges aren't that bad... it's just that you can see that if they'd put a bit more work into them, they'd be nice.
Mandrakes... well, art appreciation is subjective.
Edit: You know that when they do release DE, it'll be out of the blue, and no one will know what happened.

I hate secrecy. Takes away all the expectations and excitement of waiting for a new codex.
They should make some DE heroes as well, people are probably tired of making their own out of Warriors at this point.

They have some SCs, although some are lame.

I said heroes. F*ck SC's. I want a plastic Archon/Archite kit.

That'd be cool...plastic anything is nice.
I never use the bare headed DE heads, all helmets...and I don't use the flowy hair bits either...
Incubi are indeed awesome, reavers are kinda cool.
I use dark elves for my wyches... and my Archon is a syrabite model.

There's only one archon and one dracon model. It's always the same two people in every dark eldar army. Even the necron lord has a variation.

I'd guess any DE player with a taste that evolved post-2nd edition would just convert their own instead. The Archon/Dracon models are absolutely hideous. I wish Hesperax would look more like her concept art... Ymmot: The whip-Sybarite look a bit questionable, but the poisoned blade one isn't bad at all. Which one are you using?

Poisoned blade. (At first it was a dark elf sorceress...and sometimes I use my Morathi conversion as an Archon on a jetbike.)
and the Hesperax model isn't too far off from the artwork actually...

I enjoy how that ork thing went immediately - even within the op - straight to DE. I think it's safe to say that everyone around here would be more satisfied with a DE release. Although, I think the next thing after 'nids is BA. Just in time for AoB to go away to boot camp. Hahaha!
