Yes it is Hetlan... naughty naughty naughty well... seems Workshop were deffinately vindicated in bringing out a seperate codex for the Blood Angels then... They deffinately sound like an army I could have beating... Just a random request to anyone who gets a new Baal predator: If you choose to have the hellstorm cannon in the turret, can I have the twin assault cannons off of you?

You may not mount assault cannons as door guns on Valkyries. Not even if the Emperor appears to you in a dream vision and commands you to do it.

I have a bunch of plastic assault cannons... They're not the right size. I'd like to mount them as t-led under the wings, though.

Guard never have ass cannons for a reason: maintenance.
Granted you could say it's a one off, just for a laugh, or the Inquisition/ Mechanicum made it, but it would be rare as hell.

ah Req, methinks you may be getting more carried away with this than even I suspected! It's just going to have a pair of assault cannons in the turret (twin linked assault cannon ala Baal Predator). In normal games I'd use it as either the punisher or (more likely) the exterminator. Apocalyse however... well it'd be the Leman Russ Equaliser - twin assault cannon turret, heavy bolter sponsons and a heavy bolter in the hull (even Mr. Cruddace liked the idea when he saw it...)

That's just a FAV14 Baal with an extra HB. I'm talking about some techpriest somewhere got high, and crafted a mad scheme...

That's just a FAV14 Baal with an extra HB. and that, in a Guard Army with other Russes, doesn't sound groovalicious to you? I'm talking about some techpriest somewhere got high, and crafted a mad scheme... DON'T GIVE ME NEW CRAZY IDEAS! I already have a Techpriest on retainer who's a bit... creative...

I take exception to that, sir. I'm the best looking shoulder-perched hominid you'll ever see. *Crushes Gabe under his weight.* Crackers? No, no, no. Filet mignon.

Actually the only things I seem to grossly dislike about this codex are the Storm Raven and the modification of enemy HQ models stats.
You have to admit it: the storm Raven smarts badly of "why can't I have a valkyrie?" syndrome. I mean the marines have flyers that do the exact same job; they're called Thunderhawk Gunships. It just comes off to me as a cheap excuse to give the marines a valkyrie substitute thats better than the valkyrie (AKA transports Dreads).
The character profile modding I disagree with, always have and always will, simply because this ability has the potential to cripple a large points investment for the enemy. I mean take for exaple Yarrick: at almost two hundred points he's a bit pricy for what he does but then bring dante into the equation; our good old friend the commissar becomes Ws 4 Bs 5 S 3(6) T 4 I 2 W 2 Ld 10
Essentially he is little better than a space marine sergeant in combat and his shooting will never make back his points cost. The blood angels player has now effectively neuteralised the character's worth down to the level where only their non-combat special abilities (or ones that buff surrounding units) actually matter. The character becomes nigh on useless as a force to be used against the enemy. I just think in the right circumstances this could seriously dent an enemy's force. Also is it just me or do other people like to witness two epic characters clash in combat? yeah what this power does is it turns that epic contest of character vs character into a one sided match where the BA is most likely just going to chop their opponent in half without batting an eyelid; so much for cinematic moments...
*Rant over*

But... given he (Yarrick) would be using his powerfist, the Initiative mod wouldn't matter overly and in most circumstances, I can't see Yarrick being WS 4 or 5 being much different when fighting against someone like Dainty (sorry, Dante) - still going to be 4 to hit if I remember my tables correctly?
fair point though Gaunt - you don't want to spend a big wedge of points on a character for that character to then get made worse because your opponent picked a different character...
Maybe the effects of Dainty's Mask end if he is killed? or maybe some leadership test is involved? That might be fairer?
I also prefer the "cinematic" character vs character clashes... I notice Dainty doesn't have Eternal Warrior... *sharpens Force Weapon*

Hello. I bite when not fed properly.
Anyway, I think we all knew that when IG got the shiny thing, marines would be the next to have it. I won't complain - if any chapter would adopt it''s use, i would be BA. Nothing is fast enough for a descendant of Sanguinius.
As to the stat modding... I don't like it because it's one more thing I have to remember when I play. I like how it was before: Dante and his squad hit on three's, and get rerolls to hit. Anything within a range gets -1 to WS and BS because they're scared crapless about a guy in a golden mask swinging an axe at them.
