I think we'll probably see something along the lines of the stormtroopers that are in the Guard book, with the option of giving them shotguns (maybe even "real" shotguns, like Marines get!) to represent arbites. I just wonder if they'll give them some specialist additional rules to represent their Inquisitorial training...

Probably something similar to ATSHKNF....

Yeah, I'd like to see the =I= Stormies stay the same, to be honest, simply because it leaves a nice, cheap, flexible troop choice to take. Add in frags, maybe, but that's it.
Actually, I'd like to see the Witch Hunters able to take Pfists, but that's just me.

That would've been rich. Hellguns are AP5 while lasguns with a hot-shot pack are AP3!
Wouldn't surprise me if they did it. Retards.

It would be just like the two-wound termies.

Reds An ideal situation as far as I could see would be to either have two stormtrooper "style" entries - one would be basically the Imperial Guard ones copied over directly (maybe with some Inquisitional bonus), the second would be one that was similar to the existing Inquisitorial stormtrooper entry. Maybe have them equipped with, say... er... armour piercing solid slug weaponry, a variation on some kind of autogun? just an idea... I think it would be nice to open the choices up for players who wanted to take an Inquisitional (non-chamber militant) force. Currently, that would only give you one troops choice (ignoring inducted stuff as I'd expect GW to try to avoid that next time round).

If IRC Storm Troopers in the new Guard Dex can take Bolters. I could be wrong seeing as I don't currently have the book in front of me.

The sergeant can, the troopers can't... but if they could... I would probably give them bolters and say they were the REAL Hotshot lasguns (thats the statline hotshots use to have...)
Nice idea though... you could even use Space Marine scouts to represent them... GW would ,love that - they get to sell even more Marine stuff then...

Yup. They have to recover the high investment on marines, anyway.

RT, I wonder if something similar to ATSKNF could be made to work? Obviously not copy/paste it directly, but something along those lines, just to represent that these stormies might see "worse horrors" than Guard stormies...

Make them automatically regroup if within 12" of an Inquisitor or their retinue?

Could work, but wouldn't that just turn Inquisitors into plain old Commissars?
Gabriel: Maybe give them 'Stubborn'? A re-roll on all Leadership tests?

give them improved leadership (ld eight on squaddies and nine on the sergeant) and re-rolls on tests?

That would work. Gives them parity with other elite Imperial forces and a certain something else as well (much like SoB's have the Book of Saint Lucius and Marines have And they Shall Know No Fear).

It makes sense to me anyway, according to Amberley Vail of the Cain series, the Inquisitorial Stormtroopers are basically the tp three percent of all Stormtroopers, with the entire Stormtrooper part of the Schola Progenium designed almost specifically to create this three percent-- and all others go to the Guard.

Which, to me, means that they should stay closer to what they are now, rather than become like the IG stormies...

So they deffinately need something that will make them stand out in comparison to Guard Stormies. I'm liking the sound of the improved leadership, the reroll also sounds good - but I'm wondering if maybe it should have some form of limitation on it (such as proximity to an Inquisitor - as already mentioned)?
Maybe there'll be someway to have an Inquisitor join a unit of Stormies - like a unique squad upgrade (so you can only do it to one unit of stormies). Could nicely represent a more miliatary Inquisitor maybe?

Nominate one squad to be the retinue, and then give them more gear options?
Speaking of... what about giving the =I= stormies the option of a medic?

"feel no pain" stormie... interesting...
Yeah basically have them as a retinue for an Inquisitor. Surely they'll include the option for Valkyries too - even if it's just as a dedicated transport for Stormies (and Inquisitors)

If someone who loves tanks is a treadhead, does that make people who love the valk airheads? (I happen to love it, myself.) Seriously, though... I want this as well. It would make the =I= straight-up amazing.

Why can't I have these things? Why?

er... er... because we're kinda wishlisting and coming up with stuff that (although is cool) would probably cause some issues balance wise? I don't know! Then again... If they did put these kind of things into the Inquisition list maybe, just maybe, Inquisitororial armies would still be able to be integrated into Guard armies like they are now... then you/we'd get all those lovely upgrades and toys @req - airheads or wingheads?

It was a joke. An airhead is someone who's not all there, if you catch the meaning.
