Thanks The Yellow is signifying the Guard's completely "voluntary" force. Even though Meridia is required of providing Guardsmen, the people of Meridia join the Guard willingly. They believe in fighting and dying for their planet, Imperium, and Emperor. This has led to some startling victories over the years and every victory bolsters the Meridian Guard even more. The Meridian Guard's willingness to fight and die led them to adopt the yellow, showing that they will not cower and will stand defiant against the Emperor's foes. Strangely enough they also wear camouflage fatigues. This is so their foes will only see three things when they look upon the approaching army. Their Proud Meridian faces, the bright Yellow armor, and the red hot las shots. Meridian units such as Sentinels or sniper teams will often stick to only camouflage as wearing bright yellow could put their lives in jeopardy, or worse, put their mission in jeopardy Also Meridian tankers are mixed in what color to have their tanks. Most prefer camouflage, with some Yellow bands and marks. Others have them almost completely Yellow! These tanks are referred to as "Bullet Magnets" by other tank commanders. I don't think I would've ever thought of having Yellow guard before either! Especially with Camouflage underneath. but I remember seeing some Imp. Fist Scouts with Urban camo underneath! I thought they looked great and realized I had an Imp. guard battleforce waiting to be painted. It was clear what had to be done! I put out a test mini at my cousins house and we both marveled at how nicely it looked! This is my first guardsman, and an objective marker I had made a while back. After that we have all this. Makes me warm and fuzzy inside I made the photo small so you could click on it and get a look at it not 100%, which I think it looks better in 59%. also so you could look over my Photobucket profile if you want

Hello people who are hopefully still viewing this with interest I base coated whats left of my unpainted models. However the spray I used, some Tamiya stuff, was really watery or something so the coat is white in the recesses and a glazed grey on the higher areas. Anybody have this experience before? Can I still paint over? Do I need new spray and to simple green these guys? Anybody know what simple green does to sand glued to a base? Some better news. I ordered some new bits. 1, a space Marine Land Speeder body, I'm going to make a Sentinel conversion similar to the ones in the "8the Nemian Recon" link here in the Picture Post section. 2, 3 legs from the command squad box. 3, two "greatcoat" legs from the command box. I'm gonna make that Platoon Command I've needed since this army's inception. I should have enough parts to make these guys and equip them properly, so a cheap Command Squad, like 6-ish bucks Unfortunately they haven't arrived yet, but once they do I'll get to work right away!! If school allows haha Any C&C is welcome!

Well I has been working myself! Getting Superglue on all of my fingers, screwing up using trial and error, doing things I regretted. However It has gone well, and I promise as you watch things will get more juicy. My camera loves just not being very well charged at all when I need it, and dying efore I'm done with my photo taking. However I do have two things to show off. The First My Platoon Command Vox-caster Sergeant. For those of you who haven't noticed I'm basing this army around the ability to communicate across the battlefield. You may have noticed alot of my first guardsmen have had Vox Caster Helmets, I had planned originally to use them for a C&C GDI army, but scrapped that idea. I loved the heads and used them. So... This man has been a Vox-man most of his career. He has a stunning ability to keep calm and give detailed instructions in even the most hellish a circumstance. The Commander of 1st Platoon decided to upgrade him to Vox-Sergeant and serve beside him. Here he has served for 7 years, during which he had his mouth torn off by an Ork Boy, but his voice still remains icy calm and metallic through his Vox-Caster. Second 1st Platoon Commander, Lieutenant Sykes. Sykes has been a favorite of his platoon for years. His demeanor and actions have proven time and again the man he is. He cares for his men and has promised each and every one of them that "You will be back on Meridia again!" All of them know that they could die before they see home again, but their fallen comrades have all been brought back to Meridia for burial and/or ceremony. Sykes carries with him his trusted Power Fist, with a Lobos pattern Power Pack to power the Fist. He also has a Newly acquired Bolt Pistol given to him by a dying Commissar. He has medals and awards from his service in Meridia's conflicts, but he doesn't wear them unless in dress or parade uniform. He doesn't want to be seen as superior or "prissy" around his Guardsmen. Comment and Criticise please! Next I will have my Meltagun conversions and my "Nemian" pattern Sentinel. Edit: And here they are!! The "Reaper" pattern Meltagun, not an official pattern of meltagun. These weapons were designed by a handy special Weapons officer in the 255th Meridian guard. Enemy armor was everywhere and the 255th needed more firepower fast! Special Weapons Sergeant Kelvine took some standard issue flamers from their stockpiles and modified them with Meltagun nozzles and tank holding attachments. Although these weapons do corrode over time due to the Flamer's internals melting away, the reaper is a handy weapon used by the 255th regularly. Recently promoted to Sykes' squad is Guardsman Reed, he is a good shot and promises to defend Sykes to the death. The Nemian pattern Sentinel is a wild idea given to the Meridian Guard only recently. The Wheeled vehicle takes the job the Sentinel was designed for and improves upon it. Allowing a 360 degree firing arc even while on the move, faster speeds, and being able to carry all sorts of personnel around the field are just a few of the Nemian's capabilities. Designed off of the Space Marine Land Speeder Mark II STC, the Nemian still has a few of the original features. The ramjets providing propulsion to the Land Speeder can now be used in case of an emergency to provide the Nemian a boost, however cannot be used for long in fear of overheating and killing the gunner. As well, the Gravity Stabilizers on the Land Speeder were kept and can allow the Nemian to be dropped safely out of a Valkyrie, like a Drop Sentinel. Oh and I also wanted to show you guys the grizzly image of the bad spray job my Heavy Weapons teams were forced into. Its not pretty and most of the models are all similar looking to this one. I would really like some help with this, do I need to buy more expensive paint? I think I just need a cheap option. Walmart brand or something, please help. Oh and C&C please, for my future sanity!

Excellent conversion work on the buggy mate. Using hatch covers to cover the jet exhausts is inspired.

Nice buggy man, probably should of told ya you can just turn the exhaust backwards, but that also looks quite nice. As far as base goes, I myself recommend army painter brand.

I tried turning the exhaust around but it didn't quite fit very nicely, so i just settled for hatch covers, glad you guys like them.
Oh, as far as spray paint goes, anyone have experience with Armory primer over at the warstore? its only $6 and if its worth it i'd get that over $15 Army Painter

Armory spray primer is the best one I've used, in my opinion. Although, with any spray, be sure to shake it well for ~five minutes before spraying.

Really like the buggy. My brother plays tau and he converted one into a pirrana (spelling?) with human helper pilots. It looks pretty sweet too. I like it when people turn Marine stuff into guard vehicles.

Bigred from Bell of the Lost Souls
- At all costs, stay as far away from Armoury primer as you can. While this used to be an inexpensive, good alternative to GW, their product has changed, and now, you stand a huge chance of having the primer fuzz up on your models, no matter what conditions you attempt to prime in, and ruin your models. A lot of us have experienced this, and will recommend against it. It takes a lot of time to strip the primer off when it has fuzzed as well, even using aircraft stripper on metal models. Rather disappointing honestly... I know others have had great luck with it, but other than the one stray can of good grey armoury primer, I have asked over 20+ people who have tried it, and they did not have good reviews. I have also talked to several games stores that will not carry it anymore, preferring to carry Army Painter, Games Workshop, or Board to Pieces.

Huh. Well, I don't use gray, so...
Also, a predominately bad formula is going to get fixed quickly, lest they lose that part of their business.
You could always go to Wal-mart and get some Krylon of any number of colors.

... ... Did... did somebody just comment?? Well Pvt.Flippy, Sgt.Nacho isn't ready yet to make a squadron of Nemian Pattern Sentinel Buggies. However I am ready to tell you that I have another two Leman Russ MBT's in the works. Not sure how many of you noticed it, but they are selling a Leman Russ minus the treads for 14$ and I just bought a couple of 7$ LR tread sections off eBay. So I can pretty make two LR MBTs for the price as one new LR kit. I also plan on magnetizing the sponson boxes and hull weapon, so I can always just buy new parts and add them on when I so desire. Wish me luck! Oh also I was bored and decided to see what it would cost to Make an Armored IG army with 2 HQ and 6 troop choices all fully loaded with as many possible chimearas, 3 Hellhounds/Devil Dog fully loaded squadrons, and 3 fully loaded LR MBTs. HQ-210 Troops-3660 FA-1080 HS-1350 That is with 6 Infantry Platoons with a platoon command and 5 infantry squads each command or infantry squad having a Chimeara IFV. Also, I'm pretty sure, that I made every unit as cheap as possible, meaning the cheapest Hellhound variant, cheapest LR variant, and no upgrades for anything. It's all base points...I'm pretty sure Oh in total its also 38 Chimeara, 9 Hellhounds/Devil Dogs, 9 LR MBT, 332 Standard Guardsman, 8 officers. -6300 points... is it worth it?? Well if you were fighting hordes of Nids of orks. Definitely!! 114 Multi-laser shots 9 24" Flamer Templates 9 Pie Plates 141 Heavy Bolter shots 38 Laspistol shots 302 Lasgun shots 24" 604 Lasgun shots 12/24" FRFSRF 906 Lasgun shots 12" FRSSRF Max of 1199 shots and 18 Template weapons If you brought that to an Apoc game you'd cover half your board and be able to kill any infantry your enemy could muster. Your shooting phase alone would probably take the same time as a standard Apoc game turn, both sides included Sorry for massive Math Hammer just being dropped...kinda bored out here in the boredom of Ledyard Ct.

hey everyone sorry for long delay! I've been getting pieces and painting them. I have a new Company Command Squad and another Leman Russ MBT I'll get pics posted soon. until then, I was in a apoc game last weekend, fairly large Marines vs Everyone else. I was using My guard along with my BA for a 3000 pt force, os I was with Marines. Ultimately we lost due to some unforeseen artillery and resilient units. It was real close though. Alos I had given my Ratlings a job midway through the 2nd turn, to snipe the enemy avatar to death. However they got one wound on it and it was ultimately killed by an autocannon curse you hobbits!! anyway it was fun, would definitely do it again

Hey I was waiting for a couple new things to arrive before I updated This is only the 1st part of the update I guess you could say. My Brother's Nikon D40 didn't have enough room to fit all the pics I wanted to take so once i get the room ill take some more. But here are some pics Well I got a chimera for my veterans, a drop pod for my Blood Angels DC Dred to ride in style, put the yellow on everything that hadn't been painted yet, and quick painted my cheapo leman russ. I made it from the GW leman Russ accessories sprue, which is really just most of the tank, some ebay treads and a few IG vehicle accessories. All around I'd say it was only like 26 bucks or around there. So the cheapo leman russ!

Hey guys did a little painting work on my company command and got the chimera built up. I'll try and get pics soon.
But the main reason for my post is that I finally decided to "take the plunge" and bought the DKoK Commissar 2 for my Lord commissar. My idea is to have him joining with the 255th to observe hoe Meridian units operate and also teaching them vital attrition warfare. Which should help in the deadly cityruins fighting they are involved in at the moment. Oh and also because the model is SWEET!
But this is first Forge World model. So I'm calling on the infinite wisdom of the great Generals of the Imperial Guard here. Tips and tricks with Forge World stuff, any info on the model itself like if its a solid piece or what, or ideas maybe on how i should paint him. I'm thinking at the moment of doing him in mostly DKoK colors to show he is still Krieg, but throw some yellow on his cuffs to connect with the army.
so help me out please I wanna have a great model and i know u guys can help.
